View Full Details of Brackley Nursing HomeI and my family are very happy with everything here and have no complaints! Lovely staff too. Thank you.
Mum received a very warm welcome on arrival, for a week's respite care. Red roses, a card, chocolates and toiletries in her room were a personal touch. The room was spotlessly clean and Mum's name was already up outside, which she appreciated. My brother and I were welcomed to eat with Mum before we left, which gave us an insight into the dining facilities: metal cutlery, white tablecloths and not a plastic beaker in sight! The residents are treated with respect, as adults, which is not the case with other homes I have recently experienced. My impression was that Mum was well cared for and included in activities throughout the week, including an outing to a garden centre for a coffee. She has particularly mentioned Alice for her excellent care although all staff were brilliant.
My husband went in to Brackley care home as he was dealing with Parkinsons desease and could no longer be cared for at home. The staff did all they could to help him with this very debilitating condition and cared for him till his passing. The family will be forever grateful for the care and kindness shown by all the staff not only to him but also to the rest of his family. There were many staff who went above and beyond to do all they could for him in very difficult circumstances. The only thing I would mention is that at times the staff seemed overstretched due to the need for more staff.
Mum moved Brackley Care Home 3 months ago after her current care home suddenly closed, the staff have been very welcoming and supportive. Naturally it is taking a while for mum to settle and get to know her new environment, staff and residents and I will be honest I was worred about her becoming isolated, but today I had first hand experience of her joining in, she came out so happy and kept saying how much she had enjoyed going to the cinema -it really made me smile and i felt a little bit of weight lifting as it is such a heart searching time when you have to move your mum from her family home of 60 years to ensure she is safe and can be cared for 24/7 . I certainly feel mum is in good hands and i always feel welcome when i go to see her, often taking my dog. Thank you
Mum has thoroughly enjoyed her Respite here & I feel Mum's care & happiness has been truly catered for by all the wonderful kind staff
The staff were lovely, but treated poorly. The staff were scared to raise any issues with the management. This means the home struggles to retain staff and it relies heavily on agency staff. This leads to poor continuity of care. My mum only had two things she wanted: a bath every other day, and a short walk every morning. The home regularly failed to provide these. Because the staff turnaround was so high, they didn't notice changes in my mum's health. We tried to raise these issues but ultimately things were deteriorating rather than improving. The management is poor and the staff conditions are awful, frankly. We took the decision to move my mum to a different home. We promised other residents and family members who are also unhappy that we would post this review.
He was initially apprehensive about having 2 weeks of respite care. However, once he was settled in his room, after a very warm welcome from the staff, he was able to relax. I was very impressed with how the two nurses were with him - kind, efficient, all with humour. I felt I was leaving him in good hands.
I was not coping well looking after my husband, no sleep as he was up all day and night plus lots of other problems dementia brings ! So I needed time out !! He has mixed dementia . Brackley Care Home gave me 3 weeks respite and I was impressed with the care they gave him and myself He thoroughly enjoyed his 'Holiday' and is saying he is going back next year!!!! I was sent photo's and messages which I appreciated and I was welcomed at the home at any time. Every person spoke to me it was a lovely atmosphere, kind and friendly.
The home is clean, bright and cheerful with a welcoming atmosphere. Staff are very caring. Wide range of activities if residents want them. The home is always happy to arrange family celebrations. Overall a very happy caring home.
An outstanding organisation who clearly take great care of the residents. Very impressed with the attention to detail, the communications, feedback and management skills which make this an exceptional care home and one which I am pleased to have decided to ask them to look after my wife.
My mother is always well cared for, well dressed and looking good - down to the lipstick! Can't fault BCH.
Following post-operative problems encountered in our private-patient Swiss hospital, my wife was repatriated to England. Brackley Care Home (BCH) rushed to her aid by ensuring that she was provided with a superbly equipped and spotlessly clean room, as well as medical care facilities perfect for her paraplegic situation. Her special needs were always addressed in an exemplary manner by BCH's professional team of nurses and carers. Furthermore, BCH treats its residents as friends, enabling them to join in and benefit from a wide range of social activities. No restrictions are placed on freedom of movement or on visiting opportunities for relatives and friends. Having spent most of her life in other European countries, my wife also complimented BCH on its high quality and wide-ranging catering options, enjoyed in its cosy restaurant. When her life recently met its end, all staff reacted as if they were close relatives and those able to do so attended her funeral. Thank you all.
My mum has recently stayed in Brackley Care Home for two weeks whilst we were away on holiday and the peace of mind this gave me was invaluable. All the staff are wonderful and so friendly - Mum said they couldn't do enough to help her during her stay. She particularly enjoyed the craft activities and a trip to a local coffee shop one day! This was Mums second stay in Brackley and I wouldn't hesitate to organise another.
Recently, my Dad needed to convalesce after a hip replacement. It was at extremely short notice when I contacted the Brackley Care Home to find a short-term place for him. I was assured there was a space and we were made to feel so welcome on arriving. All of the staff at Brackley Care Home are so friendly, polite and really helpful. My Dad has received the best care we could wish for and enjoyed a good rapport with everyone. The room was really lovely and clean, with plenty of sunlight and everything provided. The meals were nutricious and plentiful and cooked with care. My Dad especially liked the fact that the vegetables were just right. There are many activities for residents and trips out too. There is a wonderful garden, beautifully kept, with bird feeders and a beehive. Nice to sit out and watch the birds. My Dad and I would whole-heartedly recommend Brackley Care Home, so very homely and clean and well cared for.
My Mum has been a resident of Brackley Care Home for the last year. I can't fault them at all for the way she is cared for. The staff are so friendly and always have smiles on their faces. It gives me and my brother piece of mind knowing that she is safe and well looked after.
My Mum has been a resident at Brackley Care Home for 8 months now and we are so pleased with the care that she gets there. It wasn't easy choosing a care home and we are happy that we chose Brackley Care Home. From the first day she arrived, my Mum has had the best care possible from an amazing group of staff. The care staff are thoughtful and keep my Mums dignity during the times she has difficult days. There are fabulous activity co-ordinators who keep my Mum involved and engaged, especially with the crafts. The daily events are suited to all residents and it is lovely to see them all enjoying their lives and having a laugh. The home cooked food is also excellent, especially the cakes! Mum has settled in well, and we always enjoy visiting her where we can see that she is happy. Mum has dementia and we know that she will change over time. It is comforting to know that she will always be cared for in such a lovely care home.
Living abroad makes social media updates an essential part of being kept informed of every day activities. As I have a parent in residential care with dementia at Brackley Care Home the posts also help as a conversation starter and a reminder to my parent of what they have been doing during the week. On any visits I have made to date I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful and whenever a concern has been raised via email a helpful response has always been given. The team have also facilitated in me being able to join residential meetings on-line. Brackley Care Home have helped my parent feel part of a friendly, comfortable and caring surrounding.
Brackley Care Home have taken care of my dear Mum for the last six months since she lost Dad. I cannot speak highly enough of the team and the quality of the environment. The atmosphere is extremely caring, warm and friendly. A real home from home. It's a huge weight off my mind knowing that Mum is so well taken care of. Her room is exceptionally well-presented, comfortable and clean; her food is highly nutritious, tasty and of good quality; she can visit the hairdresser whenever she wants and is and encouraged to join in with a range of activities that she finds enjoyable. What's not to like? She's spoilt for choice in terms of things to do and the various treats that are always on offer. It's great that we are free to visit her at any time and can make use of the Maypole Cafe. The added bonus is the close proximity of Brackley Medical Centre. First class service here too. I highly recommend Brackley Care Home in every respect.
Brackley Care Home is such a lovely place. Clean, beautifully decorated, fantastic activities, all home- cooked food and amazing staff, nothing is too much trouble. I would quite happily live there!
My friend and neighbour for whom I have LPA required respite care at short notice, early October 2024; from first point of contact with Brackley Care Home I found the service received to be of the highest standard; communication was and is clear, concise and professional. On visiting the home myself and my friend and neighbour were welcomed warmly and offered refreshments. Information was shared verbally and in written format. Following on from the initial two week stay, the decision was reached to remain as a permanent resident. All aspects of care are made aware to myself and I have been invited to be part of changing care discussions and reviews. The welcome I receive remains, the care that is given is of the highest standard. Thank You
