View Full Details of Priorslee HouseFirst excellent doesn't quite cover how happy I am with the care and facilities. Mum receives the greatest care, compassion, dignity and I'm so grateful. The home is kept immaculate, the events they put on for the residents are outstanding. I appreciate I can come and eat with Mum, nothing is ever too much trouble. All members of staff are exceptional and I thank them so very much for taking care of Mum. It doesn't seem fair to call out individual, but Paul Chef, Fran, Paige and Petra always go above and beyond.
Mum has been here for over three years and has always received great service, care and attention. Activities have improved over the last few months and Mum enjoys the singers that come in.
My mother has been a resident for 3 years and we now have the comfort that she is being cared for without the worry of unknown mishaps. All staff show patience and kindness, allowing her to retain her dignity in safety. A welcoming atmosphere, with any emergencies dealt with swiftly and very efficiently. We are very happy with the service provided.
Amazing staff, that take care of my mother-in-law. A lovely caring little community.
Excellent care home, activities and facilities are first class. My mum has dementia and they have treated her with dignity which is all we can ask for. Many thanks for all your support.
This is my mother's 2nd respite stay at Priorslee care home. To see her blossom and begin to enjoy life again in such a caring environment is so reassuring that we have chosen the right place for Mom. Dementia/Alzheimer's can be so challenging but to receive such support has really helped us. The way we are welcome to spend as much time as we want and join in with daily activities gives us a part of our mother back that we thought we had lost. We are now looking at Mom becoming a permanent resident.
It looks a bit odd, giving so many excellents but my mum is settled & happy. She enjoys the food & her daily glass of wine. Her room is kept clean & tidy. I don't envy the staff who have to deal with mum's propensity to not throw anything away.
Amazing care home, mum came here from respite and decided to move in permanently. All the staff are so friendly and look after her so well, they always include her in all the activities, which helps her a lot. Thank you so much to everyone, we really do appreciate everything you do.
Since mums arrival 5 weeks ago she has appeared to be much happier than before. The care from all the staff has been excellent. Her social life has now improved thanks for all your help.
A staff member of staff brought my nan to a family wedding. She was excellent, nothing was to much. She kept my nan very happy throughout the day. We could not have asked for a better person to bring my nan. She went above and beyond.
Priorslee House has been good for Mum and she is well settled, having been there just over two years now. We love how welcoming the home is to all visitors, and how hard the staff work to ensure there is always lots going on in the way of activities. The home is always spotlessly clean, the communal areas, and Mum's room, with no smells! The food is good, and Mum has no complaints. Staff have good relationships with all the residents, and respect their individuality.
My husband's experience was very good. However, he needed additional support because he is wheelchair bound. He is unable to move from room to room unaided which meant he could remain in one place for a considerable time. We do not blame the staff for this, but he did need one to one support most of the time. We are not sure if staff were made aware of this. There seemed to be a problem some evenings with the change over of shifts at 8pm. The delays appeared to be because of staff levels on duty. This is not a criticism of the staff, they did their best under the circumstances.
The experience over the last 7 months has been generally very good. The home it self is very comfortable, clean and aesthetically pleasing. The bedrooms and ensuites are ideal. The staff in the main are very good, incredibly patient with the residents and attend to all their needs however vulnerable they are. There was one terrible incident which occurred due to another residents behaviour, where my mother was injured. The handling of this has been disappointing, mainly due to lack of an action plan and poor communication from HC-One management.
This is my mothers first 2 months in Priorslee House. The facilities are excellent and the staff are friendly and caring. I feel that she is safe and well looked after.
We moved our Mother from here in November due to several 'unwitnessed' falls that led to quite serious injuries including a very severe cut that required hospital treatment. She was left bleeding on the floor for a substantial period of time due to staffing being below the legal limit. This was initially denied but had to be admitted when Safeguarding got involved. There is no degree of Management whatsoever, it's more of a throw staff under the bus approach. We're aware of other residents having also moved since Mum so it's definitely not just an us issue. The new home totally enlightened us as to what care should be with trained and considerate staff and a manager that takes that role on properly. Please don't be fooled as we were by the grand tour and false promises. If I could leave a zero rating I certainly would.
This care home looks beautiful but the care is not up to scratch due to poor support from management. The residents with dementia are on the first floor and it always felt like they were second class citizens. There are not enough carers for the number of residents to be cared for safely. My mum suffered a serious injury and has had falls whilst in their care. Simple things like making sure that residents have their own glasses and footwear don't happen - they are asking for falls when this is ignored. Residents wear the same clothes day after day because there is no protocol to put them in the wash each day - this would ensure that they had clean clothing every day. There is not a good level of understanding about dementia, capacity seems to be used as a reason not to do things rather than to encourage people to live as well as possible with dementia. We tried to work with the home and regional mangers to improve things but in the end have moved mum. Don't send people with dementia here.
Priorslee House carers have always been pleasant and helpful. It is very reassuring to know that Dad is looked after and treated with respect and dignity. He is comfortable and generally happy. The home is clean and tidy. The meals are mostly good from what Dad has said. He enjoys the refreshments also. There is always a friendly smile from staff. They genuinely care. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Along with the carers, I have received fantastic support from the manager and administrator, particularly with more emotional support and financial issues advice. I recommend Priorslee House.
What a lovely, welcoming place. My friend is so well looked after and importantly, safe. The staff are so caring to their residents but also to their families and friends. Thank you.
Very very poor. Don't be fooled by the nice furniture and fake flowers. They were regularly below legal limits for staffing ratios which management knew about. They now have agency staff as we raised it after a serious accident, due to no staff being present. Senior HC-One management have admitted they were below legal limits of staff. Home Manager tried to deny it and lied to Safeguarding about it. Numerous days on the trot without personal care, including teeth not being brushed, has been admitted by Senior Management. Call bells are ignored, as reported by other relatives. Residents are left sitting in a room with a television on and no entertainment on the dementia suite. Anyone can enter the building as no checks are done on who you are and who you are there to see, the signing in book is never checked. We have moved to another care home and the difference in my Mum is incredible, she has a new lease of life and is walking and talking again. The Manager should be ashamed.
My wife has severe mobility and dexterity problems with some dementia. She went to Priorslee House for 2 weeks of respite but deteriorated whilst there. The private bedrooms and general areas are very smart, akin to a modern hotel. The carers are very attentive and whilst my wife expected to come home she has settled in very well.
