Mum came for 2 weeks respite following a fall in November 2022. The transition from living independently in a 4 bedroom house at the age of 90+ was more successful than we could have ever dreamed. Mum was there for three and a half years until her death earlier this month.
All the staff were unfailingly kind, respecting her wish for privacy and independence. It wasn't long before she told everyone who visited that she had no complaints, the home is clean, the food is good, the glass of wine very welcome and all the staff very kind and supportive.

During her recent illness and death the close relationships between the home and district nurses was evident. Both Mum and we, her children were supported through these last difficult weeks with genuine fondness and care.

We chose Priorslee House in a rush, with just the one visit, but we knew from day 1 that we had made a good choice. We would recommend the home without hesitation.

Mum came for 2 weeks respite, this is her 4th stay and she was greated by a very friendly welcome from both staff and other residents. Mum always comments on how good the food is, her room is very tastful and she likes the decor that much she has had her lounge redecorated using the same colour. There are lots of activities that she can join in with. We would highly recommend a stay here

Dennis has settled in very well after a difficult start. The support staff (both carers & admin) went above & beyond to help us all as a family to adjust to Dennis moving into full-time care. We feel Dennis is extremely well looked after with all his needs being met. Staff are always very friendly and happy to help with any queries we may have. We wouldn't want Dennis to be anywhere else.

My mother moved to Priorslee House in July 2025, initially for a short period of respite care. In September 2025 she was diagnosed with a pre-existing condition that was not known at the time of her move and she has subsequently been very poorly. Throughout her stay at Priorslee House she has received excellent care and consideration from the staff who have looked after her. All of the staff have also been very kind and supportive to my wife and I during this difficult period. Access to NHS care, including Stirchley Medical Practice and district nurses, has been first class.

From the moment we went to look at care homes for my auntie, it was a relief to find this place, we had been round quite a few homes. On the day my auntie came to home we felt like she was one of the family, residents are very friendly, coming and chatting to her in her room. I have to say the staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, and all are so kind and friendly. I would and have recommended this home to a couple of people looking.

First excellent doesn't quite cover how happy I am with the care and facilities. Mum receives the greatest care, compassion, dignity and I'm so grateful. The home is kept immaculate, the events they put on for the residents are outstanding. I appreciate I can come and eat with Mum, nothing is ever too much trouble. All members of staff are exceptional and I thank them so very much for taking care of Mum. It doesn't seem fair to call out individual, but Paul Chef, Fran, Paige and Petra always go above and beyond.

My mother has been a resident for 3 years and we now have the comfort that she is being cared for without the worry of unknown mishaps. All staff show patience and kindness, allowing her to retain her dignity in safety. A welcoming atmosphere, with any emergencies dealt with swiftly and very efficiently.

We are very happy with the service provided.

This is my mother's 2nd respite stay at Priorslee care home. To see her blossom and begin to enjoy life again in such a caring environment is so reassuring that we have chosen the right place for Mom.
Dementia/Alzheimer's can be so challenging but to receive such support has really helped us.
The way we are welcome to spend as much time as we want and join in with daily activities gives us a part of our mother back that we thought we had lost.

We are now looking at Mom becoming a permanent resident.

It looks a bit odd, giving so many excellents but my mum is settled & happy. She enjoys the food & her daily glass of wine. Her room is kept clean & tidy. I don't envy the staff who have to deal with mum's propensity to not throw anything away.

My husband's experience was very good. However, he needed additional support because he is wheelchair bound. He is unable to move from room to room unaided which meant he could remain in one place for a considerable time. We do not blame the staff for this, but he did need one to one support most of the time. We are not sure if staff were made aware of this.

There seemed to be a problem some evenings with the change over of shifts at 8pm. The delays appeared to be because of staff levels on duty. This is not a criticism of the staff, they did their best under the circumstances.

The experience over the last 7 months has been generally very good. The home it self is very comfortable, clean and aesthetically pleasing. The bedrooms and ensuites are ideal. The staff in the main are very good, incredibly patient with the residents and attend to all their needs however vulnerable they are.

There was one terrible incident which occurred due to another residents behaviour, where my mother was injured. The handling of this has been disappointing, mainly due to lack of an action plan and poor communication from HC-One management.

We moved our Mother from here in November due to several 'unwitnessed' falls that led to quite serious injuries including a very severe cut that required hospital treatment. She was left bleeding on the floor for a substantial period of time due to staffing being below the legal limit. This was initially denied but had to be admitted when Safeguarding got involved.
There is no degree of Management whatsoever, it's more of a throw staff under the bus approach.
We're aware of other residents having also moved since Mum so it's definitely not just an us issue.

The new home totally enlightened us as to what care should be with trained and considerate staff and a manager that takes that role on properly. Please don't be fooled as we were by the grand tour and false promises. If I could leave a zero rating I certainly would.
