My elderly mother is always happy to be in respite in Oxford Manor Care Home, even if she creates a fuss about going as her generation often have a negative idea of what care homes were like in the past. She settles in well and thrives with all the fuss and attention she is given by the lovely
staff. She enjoys the mealtimes immensely and likes watching the activities even if she no longer joins in. She often doesn't want to leave.

The staff and management locally have stabilised after an extended period of high turnover and now provide sympathetic and patient focussed care. Mum is well cared for and receives the medical and physical support she needs and deserves and that I am unable to provide.
Whilst I accept that this is
a business providing vital care, a 46% rise in fees charged in under three years is distressing and this ignores new additional support payments claimed directly by the care home.

Since the age of 5, I have visited and then worked in the care field. I am now in my 80's. In recent years it has been depressing to see (the improved care my generation brought in), care, facilities & standards slipping back. Oxford Manor gives me hope and should be held as a beacon! How refreshing
to come to Oxford Manor Care Home to find a lovley, spacious environment, very well designed for purpose, and spotless. What was most encouraging was the staff attitude. Staff make or break good care. The staff here were immediately welcoming, treating visitors in a cheerful manner. They treat residents with warmth and respect. If I ever need care, this is the kind of care I would want.

Mum and Dad have been living at Oxford Manor care home since December. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for all the care and support they receive. Mum and Dad both have individual complex needs , which the staff endeavour to help and support them on a daily basis. The
staff have shown such care and patience and always striving to help them in anyway they can. I just wanted to say thanks !

Very poor care, not enough staff, alarms not working, residents left to there on deficiencies for long periods of time with no one checking up on them, very unhappy with this care home, only good thing I can say about it all is that the chef does amazing food.

My Mother has been in Oxford Manor for over a Year, When she arrived from another carehome she was very unwell, and with much less capacity than she has now. With the encouragement and support from the brilliant careteam she is now doing really well. She's now really happy, Well looked after and
embracing her what has to be life nearer to all her family. We as a family can't thank the carehome enough for the transformation and independence she now has.

My grandparents stayed here for a respite stay in January and received terrible care. My nan ended up in hospital and my grandad died of an infection the day after we were able to get him home. Please avoid- we were promised the best care and it ended up being a nightmare for us.

I am very happy here. They're all very kind to me and friendly and I like it when they come in for a chat. It's nice having people around. I'm very comfortable and I like my room. I like the view, not another house in sight, just the fields. You don't get that these days.

My Mother had a lovely time (on a mixed floor of residents with dementia and non-dementia) during her respite stay. She was well cared for, ate well, and actually wanted to stay on when I asked if she wanted to come home now!

My mother has just finished a two-week respite care stay at Alma Barn Lodge. The initial assessment was conducted by the manager at my mother's house, and she was extremely focused and empathetic towards my mother. From the moment we stepped into the home we found the staff to be very friendly and
professional. My mother received flowers and a welcome card which was a lovely touch, and she felt well supported throughout her stay. There was always a calm atmosphere in the place, the residents looked relaxed, and there was always a high turnout for the many activities arranged for them. Being a purpose-built home, the facilities were of a very high standard, there was lots of space both inside and outside in the gardens.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. It is a care home where every member of staff really cares.
