View Full Details of Eden Manor Care HomeMy mam has been at Eden Manor since it first opened. She is so happy there, it really has taken a weight off my mind. She receives the care she needs whilst maintaining her independence and dignity. She has made close friendships with other residents and tells me regularly that I could not have found her a better place to stay.
Fantastic Care home. Always gone above & beyond for our mum. We sorted out our mums stay and the team were amazing, especially the manager Hannah. We couldn't imagine anywhere better. The service really is top notch. Keep up the good work Team!
Mum has been a resident of Eden Manor for nearly 2 years. She is very happy there, the rooms are all spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. She enjoys her food and the varied menu offered. There is a small contained garden where the residents can walk around or sit and enjoy the fresh air. The staff are all very professional and friendly, engaging with Mum at any opportunity and helpful in answering any queries I may have. The activities team always include Mum in the various activities that they do, whether it be crafting, quizzes or joining in the singing. I would not hesitate to recommend Eden Manor to anyone looking for a care home.
My extremely frail father was a resident for the last 6 months of his life. The staff made sure that his care was continually updated as his condition changed, so that he was kept comfortable. The staff were kind and compassionate and got to know my father well. I was always welcome to visit at any time, and I was kept updated as necessary. The home is purpose built, and very bright, clean and welcoming. The coffee lounge is well used by residents to socialise with each other and with visitors or there are quiet rooms where residents and visitors can relax.
Mother has been a resident for over a year. She felt fully at home from the first week. Over this time, her needs have changed. The staff have been very supportive to both mother and I, as we adapt to the ways she needs support to access all the activities the home offers. "We are seen". Thank you.
My husband has been staying at Eden Manor for four weeks for respite care. He has severe mobility problems, as well as other physical problems but he has received the greatest care and support. He feels very comfortable here and frequently tells me how kind the staff are.
Been happy with everything up to date, very nice and helpful staff in all areas.
Eden Manor dispels all preconceived notions of care homes. I have been very impressed with both the quality of the care and the environment. Both the public areas and the bedrooms are exceptionally well appointed - elegant and reminiscent of a boutique hotel , in fact, my father keeps referring to it as being just like a hotel. The staff are highly attentive and caring and it didn't take long for my father to feel at home. The residents' dignity is respected and the home is very comfortable and well run - I feel very reassured.
My wife has Alzheimers. When I decided I could no longer care for her my daughter and I looked around several care homes in the area. As a result we chose Eden Manor. The home is built for purpose and we were greeted by a very professional, friendly reception staff. The home is light and airy and the rooms and other facilities are excellent. The caring staff have been wonderful and the whole place is always spotlessly clean. All of the staff are very friendly and caring and seem to work well together as a team. My wife seems to be happy and I have peace of mind knowing she is comfortable and being well cared for.
My sister currently resides on village suite which is the dementia floor, I have noticed big changes within her social life and physical health and could not recommend Eden manor enough. My sister spent many months in Cumberland Infirmary and since arriving at Eden manor she has picked back up to her usual chatty self. The home itself looks beautiful however it is the hard working staff who tipped my decision to support my sister in residing here full time. The girls working village suite are a big credit to the company.
In September last year my mother had a nasty fall and ended up in hospital. On returning home it was evident that neither her or my father could manage her illness at home (she suffers with dementia). Having had respite in July, we made the difficult decision for mum to return to Eden Manor for further respite - she remains there still. All of the staff have made a difficult time manageable. Their care and love for my mum, dad and myself goes above and beyond.
Overall this home and staff are excellent. The only thing letting it down is the standard of the food provided. For the monthly cost residents pay, I would expect a much higher standard and quality of ingredients used.
My aunt spent her last two years of her life at Eden Manor. The home is lovely and she was well looked after during that time. Sadly she passed away recently. We were fortunate to be with her during her last few days and I have to say that the home and their staff were exceptional in what was a difficult time. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a care home.
Disappointed at the inactivity on the village dementia care unit. My Dad was in for 3 months. From my knowledge he had two small walks, no visits in the mini bus. Many falls, last 8 visits he was alone in his bedroom. Just because he had some verbal challenges it doesn't mean you don't interact in many other ways or try things later in the day. On some occasions seeing Dementia residents seeing Paddington 1 in a morning and Paddington 2 in an afternoon with some staff on mobile phones. I expressed concerns several times told by the manager the Dementia unit was short staffed with my sister. We have no doubt residents without dementia get really good care and activities but the last 3 months of my Dad's life we are very disappointed with Eden Manor Dementia unit.
On arrival the staff very welcoming. The room very pleasant. Most of the care staff were excellent however the younger members may require more training. Also, first morning my mother didn't receive a cup of tea until she was told that she must request this as they wouldn't know if they were not told. However, after that, this was not a problem and got it on the requested time. The mattress was very uncomfortable. Entertainment excellent although nothing at the weekends. Also very short staffed at weekends. Need more options with food.
I visit my sister who has Alzheimer's about twice a week, she is always clean and well-dressed and I like how she is included in activities. I am happy with her care at Eden Manor. The staff are pleasant and helpful.
My mum had a 3 week respite stay at Eden Manor which I had chosen for her due to its smart and attractively furnished environment and the good reviews I had read. It did not disappoint. My mum can be very hard to please but she reported that she loved her room and its outlook onto the patio, the staff were very friendly and helpful (she said they attended to her every need), she enjoyed the meals and she loved joining in the activities that were laid on by the activity co-ordinator. These included singing sessions, quizzes, a bonfire night celebration with fireworks and putting up the Christmas decorations. She also visited the hair salon and had a trip out with me with her freshly coiffed hairdo. The placement was great value on a 3 weeks for the price of two offer. I would highly recommend Eden Manor to anybody looking for safe, friendly and professional care for themselves or a family member.
Had to move my auntie in May 2024 due to her progressive dementia, her previous home was unable to meet her needs. After looking around different homes we moved her to Eden Manor. The management were wonderful and ensured that the move was as stress-free as possible. She soon settled in and her ongoing care has been excellent. She is much happier always looks clean and tidy and is included in any appropriate activities. She is treated with dignity and staff members take time to engage with her. It is always a pleasure to visit as everyone is friendly and someone is always available to answer any questions that I may have.
At 96, my mother is a lady who is independent, values her privacy and enjoys her own space. The last place she wanted to be was in a care home. In March 2024 she moved into Eden Manor. To my surprise and delight over the past four months she has embraced the experience at the home, joining in with the activities and preferring to take all her meals in the dining room in the company of the other residents. This is due to the professional, kind, friendly staff. Everyone made her feel welcome and part of 'the family' from day one. The team work hard to ensure the safety, care and welfare of the residents and the communication is excellent. In summary, a couple of weeks ago I asked my mother how she was feeling about the home - she smiled and told me she was very happy. Just one thing she said, I would like more vegetables!
Visiting this care home regularly and at different times of the day I have never found it lacking in the care and services provided. From the moment you enter the building, the reception staff are always friendly and welcoming and the cleanliness of the building is first class. I cannot rate this home too highly. Excellent.
