This was a lovely home to stay in while I recovered from my surgery and fall. The ward sisters were exceptional, and all the lovely young staff couldn't do enough for you.
The night manager and staff were also superb. The food was very good and always on time.
Laura's activities were a highlight
each day - thank you everyone.

Staff are first class on the PAU floor, genuinely care for mum and her well-being, always friendly, cheerful and helpful. Mum has been on PAU for months, and they have all loved her and she them.
Activities co-ordinator, Laura, goes above and beyond her job title and absolutely makes for a happy
and positive environment. She not only always makes sure the residents are entertained, but she also always makes sure they are well cared for. An absolute star, we truly miss her.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the care my mother received during her 3 week stay before her passing. From the start, the management team was wonderful to deal with, handling all admin efficiently with minimal fuss. The care itself was of high quality, and the staff were always open and
honest whenever we had questions. My mother's room was lovely, bright, airy and well-equipped with plenty of seating and storage for her personal belongings. During her final days, the home would seamlessly work with the doctor(s) to ensure her comfort was managed well. Knowing she spent her last days in such capable and caring hands brought the family peace of mind. I highly recommend this care home.

I want to say how much I enjoyed my time at Hawkhurst House and how amazing all the staff were, and how good the atmosphere was and how incredibly caring, helpful and encouraging everyone was! I met some amazing residents, and I loved the way one of the staff would sit with anyone on their own and
that. And even the physios were gentle and encouraged me! And patient! The garden was also very special, and the activities too, not to mention the exercises. Thank you all of you so very much for helping my recovery. May the Lord bless you all.

This is a beautiful place with absolutely lovely staff, that do everything possible to make the stay as nice and as fruitful as they can. If you ask or have any particular requests, they will do whatever they can to fulfil these. My mum has been very comfortable and very well taken care of, and I've
felt extremely happy leaving her in their care and recommend them 100%.

I'm currently a resident at Hawkhurst House Care Home. I'm here recovering for a fall and after two major operations.
The facilities at the home are fantastic. And the staff take great care of me daily. I am recieving daily physio
And the room I am staying in is fully self contained.
I cannot
thank both the carers and the physio staff enough. They've been brilliant in getting me back to health. A special thanks to Laura who organizes all the daily activities. Laura thank you for making my stay here a pleasant one

My mum was admitted to the PAU Unit at Hawkhurst House in March 2025 after suffering a broken hip. The staff are wonderful, kind, compassionate and caring, managed by the manager Gail. Her office door is always open, and nothing is too much trouble.
Mum has now been transferred to the ground as a
permanent resident - I cannot speak highly enough of Gail and her team.

Having been transferred from Pembury to Hawkhurst House for non weight bearing physio, I was very emotional.
After a couple of days I felt relaxed and comfortable with the care and kindness of staff in all areas.
I can't name them all but they know who they are. When I was sad they were there and
when I laughed we laughed together.
Thank you all so muchxxxx

From the moment I arrived at Hawkhurt House, somewhat dispirited after a brief, painful post-operative hospital stay, I was received kindly and gently taken to my spacious, comfortable room. All the staff are professional, caring and cheerful and they tend their patients, doing their best to
encourage us in our efforts to regain strength and move forward and achieve independence.
Activities are regularly organised to stimulate and entertain us. Armchair keep fit exercises, word games, musical sessions, as well as occasional periods of animal/pet interaction. Patients/visitors are readily welcomed and offered a warm drink (sometimes a sandwich or cake), much appreciated after a long journey. Menus are varied and plentiful. All the plus points make patience stay a positive experience.

First impression of home were very good. Administrative staff very pleasant and helpful care staff generally good although patients has to wait a long time when needed help and carers were sitting around chatting! Food and drinks okay but some portions small for the more hungry patients. Not a good
idea to have tall jugs which I witnessed being tipped over and contents split on a daily basis. Rooms well equipped, bedding poor quality. Cleaning in some areas not good, for example, toilet bowls, and light shades covered in cobwebs.

My mother in law moved into the PAU in November from hospital and an interim home. Gail and her entire team were brilliant in helping getting her moved to HH which is now her permanent home. The care, dignity and respect she has received is outstanding and the whole environment is brilliant. Having
been quite reclusive over the past few years (not a natural thing for a former publican) she is back to her former outgoing self, knowing she is in a place of safety and security - it's the best she has looked in years.
The whole home is geared to keeping its residents as active and involved as possible with multiple areas to sit and relax in and lots of activities on a daily basis.
The room (they are all the same) is brilliant- more a bed-sit with kitchenette, definitely not just a bedroom where you are confined to (like in other homes we looked at) with its own proper sitting area so you don't feel you are visiting someone's bedroom.
Thank you to EVERYONE who is involved in caring for her

Mum arrived in November to HH, she was extremely frail and traumatised by her sudden decline in health, mobility and independence. Gail and her team were incredibly supportive and with a wealth of experience and knowledge, helped mum transition into her new home gently and quickly. They have been so
kind, not only mums physical needs but also her mental needs have been cared for, Fast forward to January and mum is transformed! The rehabilitation, physio and care teams plus frequent GP service give Mum outstanding care; her suite is beautifully laid out and decorated, with not only practical needs met but mental needs considered, designed into zones so it feels more like home, her own wet room provides privacy and dignity which is so important. Mums room is beautifully clean as is the rest of HH, her laundry is done in hours - I haven't seen Mum this happy in years ! HH's vibe is one of happiness, fun and kindness in spadefuls. Thank you.

Mum originally went to HH for rehabilitation following a hip replacement.
Mum was rehabilitated and now walks really well with a zimmer & receives regular exercise
Mum settled well & we as family including Mum decided HH would be Mums new home
Her care suite is home from home and is
surrounded by some of her furniture & personal items that are precious to her
Staff are attentive, kind, caring & meet Mums needs
Nothing is too much trouble for them
With a choice of home cooked meals, lots of activities tailored to individual needs , regular medication & company, living at HH has been a big benefit to Mums health & wellbeing both mentally & physically
Thanks so much for all you do not only for mum but for the peace of mind we have knowing Mum is so well cared for

I cannot fault anything with the services that have been given while my friend has been at Hawkhurst House.
Staff, carers, nurses etc. were great.
Physio all a great motivating team.

I really enjoyed my 2 weeks at Hawkstone, a lovely easy going atmosphere, very needed, the staff are very kind and lovely as well as the others members of staff. The physiotherapist and use of the gym were used in my recovery from a knee replacement and I really benefited from the rest and care -
not to mention the cakes!

When our mother first came to stay here it was on a hospital discharge pathway and our initial dealings with the management seemed positive. However as time went on (she was there for 8-9 weeks) the care delivered by the staff was very poor. We recognise that our Mom could at times be difficult, she
had quite a few healthcare needs and could at times be depressed. But I don't think this would be unusual when caring for elderly, dementia patients and that training would be in place so the staff would know how to deal with this. Instead the so-called carers told her she was known as Moaning **** and often ignored her buzzer, and were rude and unhelpful and made very little attempt to communicate with her. They put her in incontinence pants instead of assisting her to the toilet and on at least one occasion lowered her mattress all the way to the floor knowing this stopped her getting out of bed (she had some mobility with a walker but couldn't get up off the floor).

Excellent all round. Wonderful care and attention. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

I had a very comfortable and pleasant few weeks. My room was large and well equipped with sturdy furniture. The staff were marvelous and willingly gave as much attention as necessary. Visitors were welcome and could help themselves to refreshments, my husband even joined the exercise class! The big
central room had a dining area, plenty of comfortable chairs and a large television in the center. The games area was the other end with a long table for games and a jigsaw table. All meals could be taken in your room and there were quite a lot of residents who never appeared.
The gym was well equipped. All in all, I enjoyed my stay. Thank you to everybody.

I cannot rate Hawkhurst House PAU highly enough. The carers, nurses and management were excellent in looking after Mum and us as a family. All staff were smiley, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The carers and nurses treated mum with the utmost dignity and kindness. I cannot fault anything
they did. Even the cleaners, laundry staff and catering staff were helpful and friendly. Communication with management was excellent. Hawkhurst House PAU is the best and highly recommended.
