Very supportive and helpful and have taken very good care of my mother . The food is excellent and plenty of it. The staff are always cheerful and always willing to help, they make time to talk and be with the residents and nothing is too much trouble. The home itself and rooms are spotlessly clean.

It takes a special kind of person to be patient, understanding and genuinely friendly towards elderly people who all have their issues and idiosyncracies. Everyone at Hermitage House is that special sort of person. The care and kindness is genuine. My mother is settled in a lovely room, enjoys
chatting with the carers who enjoy chatting with her, is always treated with dignity and respect and says that she feels she belongs. Having gone from an independent life living in her own home, to being totally dependent on others, with all the trauma that brings with it, hearing this is such a relief. I know that she is being well looked after. Hermitage House doesn't feel like a care home; the facilities are akin to a five star hotel, the food is excellent and relatives and friends can come and go as they please, making visits a relaxed and special time. It has become something of a second home to me and my family which gives us precious time with our Mum which we might not otherwise have had.

The care home offers consistent peace of mind for my wife and me in terms where she is located in a quiet part of the home and consistent medication which has stabilised her mental health showing she now has a good level of conversational skills.

My wife has had excellent care ever since she's been there(August 2024). She had a few ups and downs with her health and everything has been looked after really well I can't say how pleased I am with all the staff and how friendly they are.

I am pleased to take this opportunity to put on record how delighted I am with the care, consideration, empathy and patience the staff afford my husband. David has dementia and has no short term memory. Sadly he can no longer walk and his personal issues must be very hard to manage.
I do
appreciate the fact that I don't have to worry about his welfare. In addition, I find staff polite and open when I call to ask about David's health. The way the staff helped to celebrate his birthday was really lovely. In conclusion, all this high standard of care needs a high standard of management and structure and it is obvious to me that all is in place.
Thanks go to all at Hermitage House Thrapston.

My grandmother would not be reaching her 89th birthday without the care she receives from the home. Most of the staff are brilliant, that's very important.
However, the food.
The food is absolutely terrible. The staff agree that's it's unacceptable, most food is brought in ready made, the poor
standard of food means my grandmother often misses meals or has toast or a sandwich. Even eggs at breakfast are not cooked well, it's the simple tasks up to and including main meals. The home has seen a high turnover of "chefs" and in my opinion each one has been as bad or worse than the prior. We have complained multiple times regarding the food but nothing gets done in the long term.

This care home is fantastic it is more like a hotel than a care home. The residents are well looked after, and they have a daily choice of menu with good quality of food. There are plenty of careers available which are very helpful. I feel comfortable leaving my father here as I know he is well
looked after.

The care home has gone above and beyond looking after my Dad. He spent 5 months at the home and in that time he had nothing but their respect. Sadly he passed last week in the home and the whole team looked after not only Dad but any family member who was visiting him. We can't as a family thank
them enough.

I am very happy with my dad's care he loves the staff and all the activities especially carpet balls and bingo and trips to the bowling alley in Kettering. He loves the food and afternoon tea and cake. Hermitage House Care Home is more like a hotel than a care home my dad is very happy here and my
sister and I feel he is looking after well and is kept safe

My dad came in for rest bite. And he really enjoyed himself.
Caring workings. I couldn't have asked for a better place to support him and his needs.
Home was clean and welcoming.
A lot of different things to offer for the users.
And all the help and support there for each individual.

As a close friend of someone currently living at Hermitage House in Thrapston, I've been deeply impressed every time I visit. The care and attention given by the staff are exceptional, not only professional but genuinely warm and compassionate. The home itself is well maintained. Hermitage House has
created a space where residents can feel secure, respected and comfortable. I can't speak highly enough of the team and enrichment they've created.

The staff were very good & friendly. Felt I could approach any of them with any issues or questions I had.
Bathroom was very clean, could do with a towel rail & in the room a full-length mirror would have been lovely.
I enjoyed my stay & taking part in the activities, especially the quiz.
I
enjoyed the food, especially the cakes.

Hermitage House has given us, as a family, true peace of mind that our mum is happy and very well looked after, I personally work within care and can honestly say I've never been to such a beautiful well run home. The staff are amazing, very friendly and efficient, my mum who is at Hermitage House
has already built bonds with the carers, what I like about HH is its transparency, they have nothing to hide, you can turn up whenever you want which is a major green flag! My mum was lonely, confused and depressed before she came to Hermitage House, in the few weeks that she's been there she has blossomed and is like she used to be, she looks amazing and I'm sure it's not only down to the wonderful food they provide! Mum is a very sociable person and there is always something for her to do or activity to join. I went to see her Sunday and she told me she feels 'safe' what more could a family want for their precious mum. Well done everyone at Hermitage House as you are all truly amazing.

I couldn't fault my husband's stay at Hermitage House. The care given to him was wonderful, the staff were always kind, caring and cheerful, nothing was too much bother. The home was kept immaculate, and the food excellent. I always came away knowing that he was being well cared for and felt
supported in a not very easy time in my life.

On three separate occasions, my father was found on the ground floor, not having been integrated into the activities. No staff were around to assist in getting him upstairs. On visiting over two consecutive days, my father was in the same dirty clothes and was unshaven and unwashed, whilst the
middle floor appears to be "where it all happens". No effort was made to get my father upstairs to interact. I feel care was generally poor, and there was no effort upstairs to interact. I feel care was poor generally, and no effort was made to help with personal care. This was brought up during his stay and put on his care plan, but I have received no update! On leaving, his clothes were crammed into his case, and his underclothes were put in his stroller - disgusting. I would not recommend.

My husband settled happily for his three week stay and benefited greatly from the company of others, both residents and staff. It was a huge relief for the family to see how well he was being cared for when visiting. The fact that he walked more than at home, from his room to the communal areas
several times a day can only have been beneficial.

The facilities in this care home is second to none. The staff do everything within their power to make life as comfortable as possible for the residents, sometimes going above and beyond. No wish is impossible to achieve and a home-from-home ethos is maintained. I would highly recommend this care
home and the staff within.

Just excellent in every aspect. Genuine care, very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Mum went in with dementia and has regained a healthy weight. She has come out of her shell and socialises thanks to the team.
I suppose the best bit is mum said she’d recommend this hotel to anyone. That says it
all.

My mother moved to Hermitage House at the end of September 2023. The staff have been so supportive of us as we have adapted to residential care. We are able to treat the home as if it was indeed our home. Having the space to spend time in beautiful surroundings gives us opportunities to be able to
enjoy being together as a family as and when we are able to. As a family, we are so pleased that our Mum is cared for as we want for her as we cannot provide for her needs. Although we have had a few bumps along the way, we continue to be convinced that it is the right place for her.

We contacted Hermitage House when we were at a crisis point with our relative and receiving no support from social care. They immediately took us under their wing and admitted our relative at short notice. Immediately we were put at ease and felt reassured this was the right place to be. The home is
wonderful. Every person we’ve dealt with is so lovely and caring. The whole place has a lovely warm and relaxing feel. The residents look well cared for and happy. Our relative has improved tremendously in her time there.
Everywhere is immaculate, the food looks delicious and the coffee is first-class!
I would have no hesitation to recommend Hermitage House to anyone, in fact, I’d love to be placed here when it’s my time!
Thank you!
