View Full Details of Hermitage House Care HomeMy dad came in for rest bite. And he really enjoyed himself. Caring workings. I couldn't have asked for a better place to support him and his needs. Home was clean and welcoming. A lot of different things to offer for the users. And all the help and support there for each individual.
As a close friend of someone currently living at Hermitage House in Thrapston, I've been deeply impressed every time I visit. The care and attention given by the staff are exceptional, not only professional but genuinely warm and compassionate. The home itself is well maintained. Hermitage House has created a space where residents can feel secure, respected and comfortable. I can't speak highly enough of the team and enrichment they've created.
The staff were very good & friendly. Felt I could approach any of them with any issues or questions I had. Bathroom was very clean, could do with a towel rail & in the room a full-length mirror would have been lovely. I enjoyed my stay & taking part in the activities, especially the quiz. I enjoyed the food, especially the cakes.
Hermitage House has given us, as a family, true peace of mind that our mum is happy and very well looked after, I personally work within care and can honestly say I've never been to such a beautiful well run home. The staff are amazing, very friendly and efficient, my mum who is at Hermitage House has already built bonds with the carers, what I like about HH is its transparency, they have nothing to hide, you can turn up whenever you want which is a major green flag! My mum was lonely, confused and depressed before she came to Hermitage House, in the few weeks that she's been there she has blossomed and is like she used to be, she looks amazing and I'm sure it's not only down to the wonderful food they provide! Mum is a very sociable person and there is always something for her to do or activity to join. I went to see her Sunday and she told me she feels 'safe' what more could a family want for their precious mum. Well done everyone at Hermitage House as you are all truly amazing.
I couldn't fault my husband's stay at Hermitage House. The care given to him was wonderful, the staff were always kind, caring and cheerful, nothing was too much bother. The home was kept immaculate, and the food excellent. I always came away knowing that he was being well cared for and felt supported in a not very easy time in my life.
On three separate occasions, my father was found on the ground floor, not having been integrated into the activities. No staff were around to assist in getting him upstairs. On visiting over two consecutive days, my father was in the same dirty clothes and was unshaven and unwashed, whilst the middle floor appears to be "where it all happens". No effort was made to get my father upstairs to interact. I feel care was generally poor, and there was no effort upstairs to interact. I feel care was poor generally, and no effort was made to help with personal care. This was brought up during his stay and put on his care plan, but I have received no update! On leaving, his clothes were crammed into his case, and his underclothes were put in his stroller - disgusting. I would not recommend.
My husband settled happily for his three week stay and benefited greatly from the company of others, both residents and staff. It was a huge relief for the family to see how well he was being cared for when visiting. The fact that he walked more than at home, from his room to the communal areas several times a day can only have been beneficial.
The facilities in this care home is second to none. The staff do everything within their power to make life as comfortable as possible for the residents, sometimes going above and beyond. No wish is impossible to achieve and a home-from-home ethos is maintained. I would highly recommend this care home and the staff within.
Just excellent in every aspect. Genuine care, very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Mum went in with dementia and has regained a healthy weight. She has come out of her shell and socialises thanks to the team. I suppose the best bit is mum said she’d recommend this hotel to anyone. That says it all.
My mother moved to Hermitage House at the end of September 2023. The staff have been so supportive of us as we have adapted to residential care. We are able to treat the home as if it was indeed our home. Having the space to spend time in beautiful surroundings gives us opportunities to be able to enjoy being together as a family as and when we are able to. As a family, we are so pleased that our Mum is cared for as we want for her as we cannot provide for her needs. Although we have had a few bumps along the way, we continue to be convinced that it is the right place for her.
We contacted Hermitage House when we were at a crisis point with our relative and receiving no support from social care. They immediately took us under their wing and admitted our relative at short notice. Immediately we were put at ease and felt reassured this was the right place to be. The home is wonderful. Every person we’ve dealt with is so lovely and caring. The whole place has a lovely warm and relaxing feel. The residents look well cared for and happy. Our relative has improved tremendously in her time there. Everywhere is immaculate, the food looks delicious and the coffee is first-class! I would have no hesitation to recommend Hermitage House to anyone, in fact, I’d love to be placed here when it’s my time! Thank you!
Amazing friendly atmosphere. Caring is obviously the priority and with such a human touch. Seeing my mum so settled and content has taken so much sadness from me. Mum lived with me for 42 years and the separation has been heartbreaking. I am made to feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. I am now trying to move closer to the home so I can spend even more time with mum and the team. Overall, thrilled with everything they do. A massive thank you.
I have been involved with Hermitage House since before it opened as a member of the community. The home is very welcoming. The staff exemplary, and the entire environment both peaceful and welcoming. Heritage House has become a focal point for the community and I am proud to be a small part of it. I cannot comment on value for money but everything else is as good if not better than all other places I have known.
My father became one of the first residents in March 2023. The care and compassion we, as a family, have received are wonderful, and the staff are all like family now. My father is happy and content in his new surroundings. We couldn't have wished for better. Thank you.
After one day in Hermitage House, Mum said she felt as if she’d been set free! The home is beautiful with light, airy rooms throughout, and the facilities are fabulous - but the best thing is the high quality of care offered. Mum’s taken out regularly and feels part of the local community rather than being shut away as she was in her previous home. In three weeks of living at Hermitage, she’s been on a day trip to the seaside, a picnic to Chester House, and been taken out for numerous walks in the local area. With fortnightly community coffee mornings and visits from the local preschool nursery children, plus a wide variety of activities laid on, Mum’s world has opened up before her, and she is enjoying a full life again. The staff are so attentive - nothing is too much trouble, they are all calm and friendly, and Mum never has to wait for help. Visiting is a real pleasure, and I am so grateful that Mum has such a wonderful new home to live in where she is relaxed, happy and thriving - thank you!
I have nothing but praise and admiration for the way in which my wife's needs are met. Staff have also supported me during this difficult and emotional time.
Following several visits to Hermitage House Care Home, we felt, as a family, that the care home would provide a safe/secure environment for our loved one who is currently suffering from multiple forms of dementia and additional impacting physical disabilities. The home is newly built, beautifully decorated throughout and has a full programme of activities to both calm and stimulate the resident's requirements. All staff are gentle and so caring, everyone is treated with dignity, it's like they are looking after their own family members, nothing is too much trouble. There is an abundance of rooms that include a 'pub', 'cinema' and 'fine dining' or quiet areas for reflection, privacy or just downtime. Meal times are a real treat, choose your 3 meals the day before and the chef will also cater if there is an alternative you would prefer. There are so many positive descriptives for this care home, that we would highly recommend them to care for your loved one.
My grandad seems a new person since he has been cared for by the Hermitage House team. All staff are so friendly and welcoming, the care is second to none! They ensure that each resident enjoys their time by tailoring activities, food, drink etc to fulfil their individual needs! Thank you.
My elderly Dad has many health challenges as a Stroke has left him partially sighted, hard of hearing with limited mobility and some days a little depressed. Hermitage House has changed Dad’s and our lives for the better - knowing that a professional and caring team are providing the support required that is tailored to my Dad’s needs. Everyone has a ready smile and it is clear that the staff are happy, very well trained, willing and able to give Dad the very best care - it’s as if the staff have wrapped a comfort blanket around Dad and the family. We are so grateful for all the loving care, stimulation and encouragement that is provided for Dad. The newly built Hermitage House Care Home has the appearance of a five star hotel - a fabulous building, interior design, exacting attention to detail and delicious food. You will be delighted by the ambiance but that’s just the beginning of the story as the staff elevate the rating far beyond any expectation you could have.
The care my mother has received since arriving at Hermitage House Care Home has been fantastic. All staff without exception have been friendly and welcoming to both her and her family. The staff have quickly identified medical problems and the liaison with the local GP surgery has been good. The care and well-being team are keen to give my mum the best quality of life and is working tirelessly towards that goal. The facilities are both comfortable, luxurious and stylish. The food and drink available are very good and the hospitality staff are happy to accommodate any special requests and dietary needs. The overall experience from the initial enquiry to now has been excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend Hermitage House.
