View Full Details of Chalkwell GrangeMum came here at a difficult time in our family's life. She has settled in very well and is happiest I have seen her in years. She has made several new friends and has a good relationship with the staff. She enjoys going on the regular outings and is a social media regular. Her room is lovely & large with good view of high street.
Chalkwell Grange is absolutely amazing in all areas. We as a family had to find a home for mum to live in following our fathers death and they have made the whole process (as it is a hard thing to do) so easy. From the fist day we went to view right up to today which is about 3 months they have been so caring and genuinely happy to al guests as well as the residents. Mum has really started to come out of her shell and is happy to call Chalkwell Grange her new forever home. A huge thank you to all at Chalkwell Grange.
I am extremely impressed with the comprehensive care for my mother. Chalkwell Grange demonstrates professional standards of the highest degree. I have noted outstanding practice, outstanding and thoughtful care, all within an environment which is of the highest quality and ambience.
I am very happy at the home. I like all of the staff and they help me throughout the day and night. I have friends at the home. I enjoy the food and I am very happy in my lovely room. Staff are kind to me and the manager is very caring.
Mum receives excellent care from all the staff in the home. She has made a lot of friends, both staff and residents and is very happy at the home. The facilities are exceptional and the food is very good. Mum particularly enjoys the pies! Staff are always cheerful and professional and the home is extremely well run. They are quick to respond to any questions and action any requests.
Carers have been most supportive, polite and very caring, showing respect and dignity to the resident. Carers are not able to access the correct pain management for the resident, and their voice is not heard! Maybe try could video resident when in pain? When person is being repositioned, washed, and changed? District nurses have limited time to access the resident, who may be asleep at the time OP visit. I feel end of life nurse team in the community should be on hand to assess and administer correct pain relief. If the resident was in own home and end of life, this would happen, so why not just because resident is in a care home? Thank you.
Carers have been amazing as our friend's health has declined. Always here to support us and deliver the care needed. Room - clean and in very good decorative order. I feel for the caregivers who try to gain support from external medical professionals to get pain relief. Their voices aren't being heard, and district nurses only have a few minutes to make a pain assessment when the carers are here for 12 hour shifts, so they know our friend well. She has therefore been left in pain.
We are delighted with the care Mum is receiving at Chalkwell Grange. She has improved so much in the short time she has been a resident and she says she is happy there. The facilities and care are excellent and Mum is eating well following a period of having very poor appetite. All of the staff that we have met are really lovely and have such a caring attitude. There are loads of activities for residents to join in if they want to.
My aunty has only been with you for a week and already I realise that I have made the right decision in place her in the care of Chalkwell Grange. The staff have been so kind and helpful in settling her into her new home. It was a big decision to make in leaving her home of 30 years but I can definitely say it was the right decision and one we should perhaps have made sooner.
Mum has been here since November 2024. She has settled in very well and is very happy. She is well looked after by everyone & they can't do enough for her. The staff & management are all very caring & happy and always a nice atmosphere when you come into care home by everyone. Thank you.
My father spent two weeks at Chalkwell Grange for Respite. It is a really comfortable environment with lovely roomy bedrooms, beautifully set dining room and breakout lounges and cafe. The home is very stylish and the furniture looks lovely in the individual room, however the chair in the room was too low for my father to sit in and he couldn't get himself out of it. I suppose if he was a fully time resident we would be able to bring our own lift and tilt chair for him. A variety of day-to-day activities are well planned and executed by a permanent entertainment member of the team. The care provided is exemplary and the staff could not do enough for my father, so much so he said he got too much attention. All the staff we met came across as genuinely supportive, friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Chalkwell Grange should be the template for all care homes from the care provided, cleanliness, facilities and the management. What more could you want?
The genuine care and affection displayed to my mum, was excellent. She was at Chalkwell Grange for a little over 18 months before sadly passing, and was happy and well cared for throughout, particularly so, over the last few days of her life. The staff are a real asset to the home, and everyone from cleaning team, the kitchen staff through the carers to the home managers were all friendly, approachable, and couldn't do enough.
A happy, comfortable, well run care home to visit. My friend is well looked after and is contented.
Chalkwell Grange proved to be an exemplary choice. The facilities and resident programmes were to the highest standard. The key excellent aspect was the care and affection shown to my mother from all the staff. Would highly, highly recommend.
Since the day Mum moved in just over a year ago, she has been treated with nothing but kindness and dignity. She is settled and appreciates the good food, nice atmosphere and that nothing is too much for the excellent staff. Everyone is approachable and will deal with anything that comes up. Thank you for your never-ending patience.
I looked at a few care homes in Leigh On Sea, and this one stood out for us. My mum who is 90 broke her arm and was unable to care for herself, I needed respite care for 5 weeks while we were on holiday, and luckily for us, they had a room available. This is a care home that cares. Chalkwell Grange is spotlessly clean, my mum said the staff was all amazing. The food was excellent, and things going on all the time if you wish to participate. My lovely mum had no complaints, she was more than happy there. Thank you to all the staff, you did a wonderful job looking after Mum.
I would like to praise everyone at Chalkwell Grange for all they do to take care of my parents. My Mum and Dad have been there for just over a year now and whilst they have found it difficult to adjust to their new way of life, all the staff, on all levels, including the cooks and the cleaners, are kind, thoughtful and have done their utmost to settle them and look after all their needs. Everyone involved will go above and beyond to help wherever possible and they can't do enough for them, although my dear Mum still finds it hard to ask for help! The activity ladies, two members of staff in particular, work very hard to provide daily activities for the residents to join which I know most people enjoy. It gives me great peace of mind to know that they are both safe and being looked after so well and that all their needs, be it medical, personal, and nutritional, are being met very well. I would just like to give a special thank you to all the staff for all they do.
This care home really cares! Staff are coming to work to make a difference and look after residents in a dignified and respectful way. They treat residents just as they would their own relatives. The home is also beautifully furnished to give a feel of luxury and comfort for everyone. The well-being team are always thinking up new ways to help residents enjoy every day and have fun together. The management staff are also exemplary and are so accessible to discuss any needs and requirements. Thank you!
A lovely friendly care home, our beautiful Mum has been living at Chalkwell Grange for over a year now and I always look forward to visiting as the staff are all very welcoming. Her room is always clean and the whole home is clean and the domestic staff work so hard. It’s lovely to be able to visit whenever I want to and take Mum out whenever too. She has quite progressive dementia now but she is always treated with dignity and respect. I am very grateful to the new manager and deputy who are very approachable with an open-door policy.
I have found that all the staff at Chalkwell Grange are professional and dedicated to their jobs. I have seen this first hand with everyone in the team in all the different job roles. Everyone always has a smile on their face and will say hello to you. There is a lovely atmosphere, and always a lot going on. The carer staff are very experienced and happy to talk to you at any time. I know that they are doing the best for my mum. The variety of activities is very good and the morning walks are lovely. When my mum hasn't been well, I know they always keep checking on her to make sure she is ok. Thank you, Chalkwell Grange, it is much appreciated.
