View Full Details of Chartwell ManorAfter asking our Auntie how would she feel moving nearer to us, she was in a place in Eastbourne, it was a yes almost immediately. So had a list of places that would be her forever home to visit, went to Chartwell Manor, and whilst waiting to go in, a lady in front of me said she had looked at probably 8 places, and this one shone above the rest. Met the manager who spent a lot of time showing me around, and room options, immediately knew this place was the one, took Husband, whos reaction was "of course this is where she should be". Our auntie only arrived on 5th July but i was able to go into her lovely room to place a few bits, previously, until we could bring all of her personal stuff. The manager was so helpful with what documents we needed from her care home. and being able to move her in on a Saturday was a godsend. Cant praise the team enough, it really feels like an extended family. Thank you
Chartwell Manor is a wonderful home. All the staff are kind, caring and professional. The home is always clean, and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are very approachable.
The care and attention to detail provided by the manager and her team is outstanding. I am happy and confident that my mother receives the best possible care by the team at Chartwell. They not only look after mum but go above and beyond looking after the families to. They keep us informed and discuss the care plan regularly taking into account the needs of the resident as well as the request of the family.
My mum decided at very short notice to give up her home... We looked at several care homes and Chartwell Manor was by far the best. Warm and welcoming, caring and full of fun. The manager and her staff create a real home for the residents. Mum is much healthier, she has put on weight and is often too busy to see me!
My aunt was made to feel extremely welcome as soon as she arrived at Chartwell Manor. She quickly settled and took an active role in the wide range of activities that were on offer. Her room was very clean and well positioned and the facilities were excellent. She was always treated with the utmost care and respect and she felt valued by the whole team at the home. In the last few days of her life her care was exceptional and she really couldn't have had better support and love from the staff.
My aunt was resident at Chartwell Manor for 17 months and from the day she moved in was made to feel part of their strong community. She was able to personalise her room so really felt like it was her home. The many activities provided for the residents take account of individual interests and abilities, and staff are always happy to arrange visits and events. During her time at Chartwell Manor the staff provided my aunt with respectful and compassionate care. This was particularly evident when her physical health deteriorated, and I cannot thank them enough for making her final days so comfortable and peaceful. It was clear from their actions that they really do care about the residents and their families.
Mum has been a resident for 2 years; she has Alzheimer's and lives in Sunrise. Throughout these 2 years, she has always been treated with respect, dignity, love, care & kindness by all the staff. She is regularly entertained by the fabulous programme of entertainment they have on & the smile I regularly see on her face tells me she is happy. I know she is safe, well fed & well looked after.
I received a call from a senior carer to update me on how my mother was following a bad night. I told the carer I would visit the following morning but having put the phone down decided I wanted to see mum myself. I arrived at the home and was as always greeted in a very welcoming way. I made my way to mum's room to find the senior carer who had called, with her back to the door and hence unaware of my presence. She was showing mum such gentle care and making sure her sheets were tucked in to keep her feet warm. Knowing this is how she is treated when no one is around was a wonderful thing to observe. I listened to staff interacting with the residents over supper and yet again was so impressed to hear their compassion and care. A visit that made me realise Chartwell Manor is a very special place.
Made very welcome and good presentation of all facilities All care needs understood Facilities clean and well cared for My mother made welcome and assigned a key worker Very thorough and thoughtful with care she received
My father has been a resident at this home for 12 months and I do not use the word home loosely as this is now his home. From day one it has been the perfect place for him and meets his extensive needs 100%. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is kind, dedicated, caring and above all compassionate about their residents. Nothing is too much trouble and every need is met. If there have been questions or concerns they have been listened to and acted on. The facilities are more like a hotel than a care home but from the moment you enter you have the reassurance that your loved one is treated like family and this is not a hotel but more like a family home. Family and friends can visit as much as they like without restriction and coffee and homemade cake is always on tap! Obviously if Dad had a choice he would still be living at home, but reality is sometimes cruel so we have been blessed to have found Chartwell Manor where he will reside happily for the foreseeable.
I feel compelled to write a review to express my husband's delight during yet another fine activity at Chartwell Manor, a music event held every two weeks, performed by a wonderful guitarist. They include all participating residents with an eclectic repertoire, he is especially sensitive to my husband who used to be able to play guitar. It's truly a wonderful participating session. My husband has had a long term illness, it is both gratifying and comforting to know that he is being cared for by carers who always have his best interests at heart. I visit each day and see that he is respected and cared for in a dignified way. Obviously there are times when I have criticised someone or something but the manager without hesitation always addresses any problems with fairness and sensitivity.
From our first day, Chartwell Manor has been the best place for mother to be. Whilst times are testing with her ill health, the staff have been amazing looking after her needs. With all the activities, the staff make everyone happy and not just sat around. Simply the best.
My father moved into Chartwell Manor 18 months ago, unwell, confused and very unhappy. Thanks to the care, attention and nursing he has received we feel he is in the best place he could be and we are reassured that he is safe and well looked after. Furthermore, the housekeeping team ensure everywhere looks and smells clean and welcoming. It is well managed and run and I thoroughly recommend Chartwell Manor.
My Grandmother has been a resident at Chartwell Manor Care Home for over a year now. She came for respite and chose to stay which was a huge decision but she had been in a couple of other homes for respite before and was always keen to get home, this time was different. The staff at Chartwell are dedicated, kind, caring, professional. The activities team put so much effort into tailoring the activities and trips for the residents. The food always looks and smells delicious with a lively variety. I've eaten there twice- a meal and an afternoon tea and they were both fantastic. The care home is enthusiastic about getting involved with the community by hosting open events such as a summer festival, by sponsoring the local football team, by raising money for lots of different charities including national and local charities such as Emmett's Genies. They have regular resident and relative meetings and take on board feedback. I rate their care highly.
W wanted to say a huge thank you to the amazing chef and the whole team for making Mum's Birthday celebration truly special yesterday. The private dining room looked great and, from being served tea to the beautiful cake, it was perfect. The special touches of a sash and badge (Queen for a Day) were part of the magic. We are so glad Mum is living a Chartwell, she is safe, enjoying activities and is part of a community making many friends, grateful thanks to a fabulous staff team.
From our initial respite enquiry with the customer relations manager and visit to Chartwell Manor, we knew that it would be the perfect place for Mum. We cannot fault any aspect of Mum's care and all the staff made Mum feel welcome and put her at ease. Mum wouldn't want to stay anywhere else now and nor would we want her to. A big thank you to everyone at Chartwell Manor, you are all amazing!
My aunt has been very welcomed into Chartwell by all the staff and has settled in very well. It is always a difficult decision to move a family member into a residential home, but I feel very confident in the choice made in choosing Chartwell Manor. The environment is lovely, and everything has been very well thought out in design and layout. Staff have kept us up to date on her progress, and I have been impressed with the support she has had when she has had health issues that otherwise would have resulted in hospital stays. It’s also a pleasure to visit her there as we are also well looked after whilst there, plus there are many enjoyable places to sit and talk to my aunt apart from her delightful room.
From the moment my sister and I visited Chartwell, we were very impressed. A 5-star care home, very clean, modern, with a friendly, professional working team who went out of their way to admit our Uncle straight from hospital. He could not be in better hands and we would thoroughly recommend them.
My uncle was not safe to go back home after a six week hospital stay. His dementia and confusion got worse. I looked at a few homes and liked the set up of Chartwell Manor and the staff were so lovely. My Uncle was transferred from hospital at the end of May 2023 and settled in well, the staff are so kind and helpful. He has been there for more than eight weeks now, I no longer worry about him eating, drinking or taking his medication. They also arrange lots of activities, my uncle is so outgoing now (he barely socialised before). He is well looked after and I get regular updates and I can visit when I want. The home holds relatives meetings where you can give feedback, and they do listen and implement suggestions/changes. Thank you to all the staff at Chartwell Manor!
Very pleasant and extremely helpful staff. Caring and all on hand to help with service users or family. Rooms are clean and kept in fantastic order. Food is of a high standard and is fresh every day. I could not wish for my brother to be in a nicer place.
