View Full Details of Alston House Care HomeI would just like to thank everyone at Alston House for the care and respect they showed my uncle. While he was at Alston House he was so well looked after and was very happy. Everyone was always so welcoming and friendly when I visited and were always happy to have a chat about any concerns I had with him. I was able to go away on holiday and relax as I knew he couldn't have been in better hands. The whole team are amazing and I can never praise them enough for how they care. It is a beautiful home with amazing people working there. Thank you for everything from us all.
Alston House is excellent. The facilities are very very good and the staff superb - kind, caring and efficient. I feel safe and secure and so well looked after. I came for respite after time in hospital, but within days decided to stay here permanently . I am regaining my confidence, thanks to the reassuring staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble. I am settling in and feeling at home. I hope I will have a long time to enjoy being here.
Professional, attentive and caring staff and management. The home is spotless and such a warm homely environment. We all feel super comfortable going in to see my mum who is settling in really well. Everyone is always willing to help. Would highly recommend.
My Mother only spent a few months at Alston House as she was terminal. From the moment I contacted this home we were both treated with dignity and they made the process so much easier. They cared for Mum and me during Mum's last days so well, attentive to all our needs with a positive 'can do' approach. I am so relieved I chose well for Mum a home that was always bright, welcoming and a real tonic in what was a difficult time for us. Well done to all the wonderful staff at Alston House.
Following three successful and positive short respite stays at Alston House, mum made the decision to move from her own home and become a permanent resident six months ago. Mum was reluctant at first to join in with any activities, but with gentle encouragement from the staff she now chooses to dine with her new friends and is beginning to enjoy outings out, including trips to the theatre and a day at Highclere Castle. The staff quickly picked up on things that mean the most to mum. She frequently comments on how good the food is and she is eating far better now than when she lived alone. The staff never fail to make us feel welcome and have been so supportive with any issues that have arisen while mum continues to get used to her new home. As a family, we are never in any doubt as to the level of care that mum is receiving. I would highly recommend Alston House. From the moment we first looked around, we were made to feel welcome and part of the family.
Very impressed with the standard of care which my mother received in January/February 2025. It was the perfect place for her to regain her strength following a hospital stay. The staff were friendly. The food tasty and the whole environment enabled he to regain her confidence. Another pus - her clothes were not ruined in the laundry as I have seen happen in other home.
Alston House in Eastleigh is an excellent provider, looking after both my parents in law for 18 months to date. The care is exemplary with the staff showing a real and genuine kindness to the residents. I'm truly grateful we made the decision to use Alston House.
This is an exceptional Care Home. I had to move mum here in quite stressful circumstances but the Management and staff were so supportive and welcoming that I felt very reassured. My first impression was how friendly all the staff were and their enthusiasm for Alston House. Mum has now been living here for 6 months and has settled in well and is enjoying the many activities available to her. She has made friends and really seems very happy. I particularly like the clear structure to her day and the amazing amount of entertainment on offer. I always enjoy my visits with her.
Our aunt was in desperate need of care very quickly and having phoned Alston House, who were so helpful and offered to show me around the following day, then made arrangements for her to come the day after. It was such a relief. We have found the standard of care and cleanliness brilliant. Every member of staff is cheerful and helpful. Our aunt is taken out on trips, for walks and has good in house entertainments. There is great outdoor garden space which is available too. I recommended Alston House to a friend who has also moved her relative in and is delighted. Thank you to all the members of staff for your hard work and care.
Like the adverts state, this is not just a care home , it is so much more. From the minute I first visited, the staff were as caring as family. The whole place is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Nothing is too much to ask. The food is very appetising. All the facilities are well thought through. My uncle has moved in and hasn't stopped smiling. He has told me repeatedly that he wished to stay at Alston House which is incredible as, until now, he wanted to stay at home. Visiting him is an equally welcoming experience. Thank you to all the team.
Mum moved into Alston House in June 2024 after a hospital stay, as it was no longer safe for her to stay at home. The whole process was so simple and stress-free. The staff were all so kind and respectful to her and made her very comfortable at all times. She was encouraged to join in the many activities available, although she wasn't always keen to do so. When we visited, every member of the staff greeted us like close family and knew exactly who we were and who we'd come to see right from the beginning- it made us feel so reassured that they really cared on a personal level- not just doing their job. The food was always appetising-looking and well presented. The care that Mum and our family received in her final days was amazing (gentle music to ease the horrible silence, an amenity trolley, offer of a room to stay)- so thoughtful and discreet, and her passing was so peaceful. We couldn't recommend Alston House high enough with words. Just a huge "Thank You" for looking after our very precious Mum and wife.
The homemakers are so friendly and I find that whatever mu question, the answer is 99% 'Yes'.
Having been at another care home we moved Dad here and the difference is amazing. The staff respect the residents and the different activities on offer keep the residents busy. They are also on top of medical treatment and if there are any changes they will let the family know. All of the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much effort. They are always quick to help when assistance is needed. The residents all eat together for lunch and supper and the menu on offer is flexible and offers choices for the residents and always looks good and very nutritious. My father has settled in so well and this is all down to all of the staff.
Mum was one of the first residents at Alston House after its opening in early 2023. From the moment she moved in she felt loved and cared for. A hesitant participant in the activities at first, she was gently encouraged to attend and soon enjoyed attending many of them. Sadly Mum isn't with us anymore, but even towards the end of her life, the staff showed such care and compassion, not only to her but to us as a family. We can't thank everyone at Alston House enough for everything you did for Mum.
Mam was a resident at Alston House Care Home for 9 weeks before she sadly passed away. All the staff showed nothing but compassion for Mam and showed empathy. The staff were so friendly both to Mam and her family. I would strongly recommend Alston House.
This is a fantastic home. The home is beautiful, just like a hotel with wonderful facilities, the residents really enjoy the activities and there is always something going on! The gardens are beautiful and really accessible. The menu is varied and Gran really enjoys her mealtimes. The staff are really friendly and really interact with Gran. The home is clean, comfortable and has everything there. What a wonderful team I couldn't praise them enough. Gran is treated with dignity and respect and her choices and preferences are always respected.
As a resident from now on, I consider it unbelievably lucky to enjoy hopefully for the rest of my life the staff and facilities amassed by the site manager. The staff's attitude and kindness are unsurpassed who will make my final days as comfortable and pleasant as could be. Expensive but one gets what one pays for. I just hope that my bank account dies after I do!
Our mum is settling into Alston House very well. She is receiving excellent care by the nurses and the homemakers. She said that she likes the relaxed atmosphere and the organised activities every day. Her favourite time is when she can help with planting in the garden. She loves being outside when the weather is sunny and warm. Our mum also enjoys listening to music, singing and joining in with the music and movement class. Recently we had afternoon tea outside to remember the events of D-Day and the sacrifice made by so many. A singer entertained us with songs to join in with. It was a lovely afternoon.
My mum spent four weeks respite at Alston House Care Home after several weeks in hospital. The care and support she received from all the staff was second to none. They are kind, thoughtful, encouraging and caring and, despite her initial reluctance to spend time in a care home, she had a happy and stimulating stay. There is a good variety of daily activities and my mum enjoyed the pamper afternoons and having her nails done. She also enjoyed the variety of food offered in the restaurant each day. It was nice to be able to pop in and have a coffee with her in the bistro area. Thank you to everyone at Alston House for looking after my mum so well.
These are just a few lines to share my appreciation of the benefits that I feel my wife has made since being a resident at Alston House. Today I popped in to visit her and found her in a knitting - or perhaps I should say a knitting and chatting - group and thoroughly enjoying herself. And generally I notice that her cognitive attitude has improved in leaps and bounds, assisted by the obvious care and attention of the staff at Alston House. She has also mentioned how much she enjoys the breakfast, lunch and dinner, which I understand she shares with her new friend. It's a traumatic time to commit the daily care of a loved one into the hands of someone else, but having seen the way that the staff at Alston House operate, I have full confidence that I have made the right decision.
