View Full Details of Waterhaven PlaceI have some experience of care homes as I had the sad task of finding one for my late father, and we ended up with real duds. I was braced for being disappointed by Waterhaven, where my mother is enjoying respite care. It is in a different zone from the other care homes we tried. The facilities are good, the food is absolutely excellent (and that really lifts the spirits). What makes this place so special however is the staff. Every member of staff is positive, active, tireless and professional. Nobody has a magic wand, of course, but they do subscribe to the notion that nothing is too much trouble. My mum wants to get home, but the whole family knows that she could not be in a better place.
I spent two weeks at Waterhaven Place for respite care, after hip replacement surgery, and I could not have wished for better care. All of the staff there were friendly, helpful and could never do enough for you. Every need was catered for, the amenities were marvellous, everywhere was spotlessly clean, the food was excellent and lots of entertaining activities were laid on. Whilst I was there, I witnessed the way dementia patients were treated with incredible kindness, compassion, patience and understanding. All in all, it was a very nice experience.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful care and for making me better. I shall miss you all - the friendliness and companionship.
Friendly, helpful staff. Reassured by the fact that staff are always on hand and can ring my bell if I need anything. It made me feel safe and secure. Lots of activities and things to join in with, and beauty treatments to enjoy. Visitors are always welcome and can stay for meals. Excellent choice of food and always more available. I have enjoyed the exercises; they are good fun. Would recommend always.
I cannot praise the staff at Waterhaven Place enough. My husband has been a resident there for the past 4 weeks. Their care goes even above the call of duty.
