My husband has settled in well adjusting to his new environment. All the staff are friendly and always willing to help. He has enjoyed all the activities especially the singing. The events team organise many different activities trying to give residents a good variety of experiences. The staff have also given me support during this very difficult time in my life. Myself and my family are happy with the care he is getting he's treated with dignity and respect and most importantly a willingness to help at all times. He enjoys the good quality food and there is always plenty of choice and nothing is too much trouble making mealtime an enjoyable experience. He can choose where he eats either in the dining room or his own room.
My husband was referred to Berkeley House after a time in rehab when it was decided that because of complex needs he could not be cared for properly at home. Several family members including myself went to look round the home before my husband was transferred from rehab. We were treated with respect and kindness by staff members , shown rooms and facilities and we were impressed with the standard of the home and how immaculate everywhere was. Since my husband has been living there I have been reassured by the care and consideration he has received from all staff in their varied roles at the home. Everyone is very friendly and overall the residents are treated so well. There is a varied range of activities and the catering is really good. It was a difficult decision to place my husband in care but I am very thankful he is in the right place.
My husband John is currently staying at Berkeley House on a temporary basis. He's been well looked after by all the staff there who are a great bunch, always have a smile and seem good fun. They are always happy to help.
Mum moved to Berkeley House nearly 3 months ago, needing more care due to her Alzheimers dementia. It was our first choice of home for mum and it's wonderful to see her thriving there. She is enjoying activities that she hasn't done for a long time and is rediscovering crafting skills. It's a difficult decision to move your mum from her home to care, however we are very happy with the care she receives from her Berkeley House family. The staff are always friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble. The standards of cleanliness and maintenance are excellent . There is a huge range of social activities throughout the week. Our mum is safe, settled, thriving and happy. Thank you Team Berkeley House
I wish to highly praise the ' cleaner' that came to my room today . She was highly motivated, did a superb job ( even found& disposed of2 spiders.) She cleaned all surfaces & under, above , behind all furniture - which she pulled out! She worked exceeding hard & non stop' 'bottom' my room- not just a 'tickle' like some others. I can't praise her enough. Room now 'smells' clean ( not just of Air freshener!) . Thank you v much! Activity coordinator s- very pleased are a hard working team - work v. well together - coordinated hard working - well organised. Understand the needs of all residents. Think of new activities all the time to keep us entertained & active. Are v. creative - lots of good ideas - have time for all the residents and take an interest. Allways willing, helpful, cheerful, well presented.
My elderly neighbour became a resident into your care home and I have visited her on several occasions. On every visit, I have always admired your staff's caring nature, politeness and offers of help with left, floor doors, in fact anything I have ever had to ask them. The security is first class, the smell on entering the building is always pleasant, cleanliness, first class, my neighbour's room is so pleasant & homely, and I can see she is very settled and looking very well and looked after.
Berkley Care Home was bright, spacious and all the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. My mum was in Berkeley for a months respite care whilst I was on holiday and before mum had knee surgery. Mum received excellent care and I was informed about mum's mobility issues and general health as an on-going process. Mum chose not to join in or get involved with any of the activities or Christmas events but I firmly believe she would of benefitted from meeting and talking to everyone. All residents who interacted and socialised were happy and often asked me to get involved. The only negative from mum's perspective was the food was good but warm - mum likes everything piping hot. All of the staff were excellent!
My mum has been in this home for respite care whilst Dad was in hospital, this was the first time Mum (91) has spent any time in residential care and she was very nervous at first. The care and attention she has received has been first class, all the care givers have been amazing with her. I was kept up to date with her care and nothing was too much trouble. The home responded to any queries quickly and any little niggles were sorted promptly. Keep doing what you do, you're all amazing. Thank you
After visiting several care homes in the area, it was a pleasant surprise to walk into the light and airy, Berkeley House Care Home. Mum has only been there a few days and all of the staff we have interacted with have been so helpful and engaged in their work. She loves the food and after 6 weeks of having to persuade her to eat even the smallest amount she has been tucking into the food here. Its a joy to visit her here too.

The girls who do the entertainment are wonderful. Whenever I arrive to see my mum, the reception and office staff always greet you with a smile. On the whole, my mother's care is top-notch. The home is lovely and the staff are very caring and friendly. My mother, although nearly blind, is very independent and has made many friends but if ever she is ill the staff really take care of her. Like most things, there is always room for improvement.

My mum fractured her hip in 2023 and was struggling to cope at home, her physical and mental health were deteriorating rapidly. After a hospital stay, she was offered a short stay in Berkeley House Care Home. This was the best decision for the whole family as we had all been affected by Mum's condition. She quickly started to look and feel much better, her physical health improved dramatically. We cannot thank the staff at Berkeley enough, without their care and support Mum would probably not be with us now. Berkeley House is always very clean and well-maintained.
