View Full Details of St Clare's Care HomeMy gran appears to be beautifully looked after. She had a gad fall and broke her wrist so its a relief to have her cared for here in such clean surroundings. A comfortable room and friendly, smiley staff. It can be hard to get through on the phone to the resident but other than that it's amazing.
Dad is looked after very well by his team of 'regular' carers. He has a good appetite and enjoys the food prepared for him. The staff are always polite and helpful and let us know how dad has been getting on since our last visits.
I can see that my sister is comfortable and very well cared for. I have been present at feeding times and the meals are beautifully prepared. The team are very caring and patient with my sister.
I am extremely happy with the care that my mother and father are receiving at St Clare's Care Home, all the staff have been so caring and considerate and kind, which has helped my parents so much, and above all give me great comfort knowing they are in good care. Thank you to everyone.
My wife has been well looked after for over 5 years.
All the staff at Saint Clare's showed great compassion, care and respect towards the residents. Importantly, I am updated regularly regarding the welfare and well-being of my parents. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I feel assured that my parents have kind people looking out for them.
My mother was very resistant to the thought of going to a nursing home but has settled in well. Saint Clare's has created a safe, homely space for her and I can see she's well cared for.
My wife moved to St Clares last Novembers and as far as I can tell her treatment and care has been beyond reproach.
I have visited St Clarkes in a professional capacity for some years, so had no hesitation in choosing it for my mother. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. Nothing has been too much trouble and we no longer need to worry about mum, as she us so well cared for. Excellent communication and feedback when necessary.
From the receptionist through carers, cleaners and managers, my husband received a warm welcome. Communication is excellent and timely. His room is warm and bright, and he is kept comfortable and well-nourished. He is dealt with a sympathetic and kind manner, and is able to enjoy a joke and a chat with the wonderful carers. The nurses keep a close eye on his medical needs, and these are attended to promptly.
We are very pleased that dad has adapted to life at St Clares, he certainly enjoys the activities. Dad has always enjoyed drawing and painting and therefore particularly enjoys the art club, the staff are very supportive and give him encouragement to complete his paintings.
Everything about the care home is very good. The staff are very caring. All of my father's physical needs and mental needs are well cared for. His care is regularly reviewed by the team and he has regular contact with his GP and other health care professionals.
My wife going into a care home was a massive decision for the family. She has now been in St Clare's for 6 months and she has settled in well. All the staff have been so welcoming and helpful. Visiting has been easy and all the staff have been understanding and very cooperative. Any issues have been promptly resolved. The extensive grounds are ideal for our regular walks. Overall an excellent care home run by a professional and dedicated and caring team.
Some lack of basic care. Call bell left out of reach. Drinks left out of reach. Food not cut up. Food on flat plate. Spoon not given - fork is difficult to use. Not checked after food given, often falls asleep, food cold or spilt over him. Not shaved or given razor regularly. Bad arm not supported.
The staff at St Clare's Care Home provided wonderful care and support to my dad. They all appeared to genuinely care about him and it always felt like I was being so well supported by them too. The range of activities on offer and their commitment to engage residents was particularly outstanding.
I am well looked after but there are one or two exceptions.
Found staff very caring, but a little careless with certain aspects, i.e. mislaying personal laundry and some mislaid medication - all sorted out in the end.
I was very well cared for. The staff are amazing - always caring, good-humoured, fun and very patient.
We have had a family member and family friend in the home over the past 12 months who are residents. The location of the home is great, purpose-built, with lovely windows and parking and access surrounded by a lake and farm animals and well-tended gardens, so a positive place to stay and nice for a walk and also to visit. Care home staff are always welcoming, and the well-being and safety of the residents from my visit and contact with the front desk and kitchen staff have always been very evident and part of the culture and ethos of the care home. Care home fees are expensive, but for the level of care, services available of clothes being washed, staff care costs, food, and hairdressing services, residents have everything they need, along with a large television room. Residents are always safe, and if there are any problems or concerns, the care home manager and her team will always speak to me via phone or via email. Food is always subjective - suggestion - sandwiches should not be served as the main evening meal.
Overall, I am pleased with the care my father is receiving. The staff are very friendly, capable and helpful. The food is really good, and cups of tea/coffee are available when the residents need them. My father is treated with respect, and any medical issues are addressed quickly by the nursing staff. There are many activities and also events, to which family can come.
