St Clare's Care Home

My Grandad spent his last few months at St Claires and he couldn't have had better care. When he was on end of life the staff were so supportive to my whole family and made my Grandad as comfortable as they possibly could. I would recommend St Claires to anyone. Thank you so much to all the staff there.

The food is sourced locally and staff are local which helps considerably.

While my aunt had a short stay at St. Clare's over the past 3 weeks, she was caredfor, looked after by nursing staff and carers. All with great compassion and kindness, Their facilities, clean, supportive and well looked after. The nursing staff and GP were very good and reassuring, taking great care of our aunt. In her final days and stages of her time there, not only did they look after our aunts needs but also our own, ensuring we were taken care off too serving meals, drinks and even giving emotional support when it was needed. We thank them truely from the bottom of our hearts for giving such great care to our aunt and us. Thank you so much.

My mother spent the last three weeks of her life being cared for at St. Clare's nursing home. My experience was that she was looked after to the highest standards of care and compassion and we never had any cause for concern or complaint. The last few days we were so impressed with the professionalism and nursing care offered. My brother and I were there for the last 24 hours and we were offered food drink and guest accommodation. I'm so pleased she spent her last days in this home. Thank you.

Our beautiful mother was stoically independent and extraordinarily strong. She never imagined that she would need to go into a care home, she dreaded the idea, we all did. We looked at 6 care homes and unanimously agreed on St Clare's due to the immediate sense of warmth, kindness and professionalism we experienced from arrival. Holding my mum's hand most days for three months at the end of life was extremely painful, but it was also incredibly life affirming because of the compassion and care she received from everyone working there. Care that went beyond tasks and processes. Care was given with smiles, positivity, tenderness and sincerity. We can't chose the way we die, but I'm so glad we chose St Clare's for our mother's last chapter. She, and our entire family were looked after every breath of the way. An experience which will be etched in mind for ever more. Thank you.

I came here for 2 weeks respite care following a stroke. I have been extremely well looked after by a really lovely group of nurses and cares. Nothing has been too much trouble at any time. There is a very happy atmosphere in the home with an excellent relationship between patients and staff. Thank you so much for all your kindness and care.

The care our mother received was exemplary. Also to us, her children, we could not have been given more support. We could not have asked for better care of our mother at the end of her life. We admire the staff's cheerfulness and infinite kindness in carrying out their duties.

My father has been cared for in St Clares for over 2 1/2 years and we have been so impressed with the level of care provided from day one. There is an abundance of carers, nurses and other staff and every single one we (as a family) have encountered are so personal, caring and professional. Dad has been so comfortable and all his varying, and often challenging, needs satisfied. The home is clean, the food good quality and the environment is homely. Thank you all so much.

The staff at St Clares have been very kind and supportive during a difficult time. I am very impressed with the calmness, and so pleased to see Gillian looking so much better.

As a family we were anxious about mum going into a nursing home but from the minute she arrived until she passed away she was treated with the utmost care and dignity. All staff regardless of their role were always smiling and their kindness was unparalleled. They looked after us as well as caring for mum with such empathy. The nurses would come and sit and talk to us and explain clearly what was happening. The whole experience made what we were going through more bearable.

They supported us too through Mum's last days and the nurses were honest, supportive and kind as well as medically supporting Mum so she was comfortable, calm and peaceful. Dignity is truly important to each and every member of staff. The number of staff too is great, there is always someone about and in the final days constantly someone checking in to ensure they were aware exactly what was going on to support in the right way.

St Clare's Care Home provides exceptional care; professional, respectful, compassionate and friendly. It really helps, too, that the buildings are wonderful and purpose built without being clinical in appearance. When we have queries on behalf of my mother, the staff respond promptly and politely. St Clare's should be proud of their care, and their staff. They are so valuable in a sector where they are often under-appreciated, unfortunately other care homes can't or don't meet their standards - they are a good 'benchmark'.

My father requires a lot of reassurance when either things don't work or he's forgotten how to use them. The staff at St. Clare's are very patient helping him to get back on track mostly with TV. His general care is excellent. Staff keep in touch very promptly if he is unwell. He enjoys the activities- it widens his experiences.

I cannot thank the staff here at St Clare's enough for their kindness and care. Everyone from housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, kitchen, activities, carers, admin,and nursing staff go above and beyond to ensure residents are so well looked after. I am so glad we chose them to look after mum. Thank you

Staff generally very good/pleasant. Can't think of many improvements. Food could be better quality and have more variety.

My gran appears to be beautifully looked after. She had a gad fall and broke her wrist so its a relief to have her cared for here in such clean surroundings. A comfortable room and friendly, smiley staff. It can be hard to get through on the phone to the resident but other than that it's amazing.

Dad is looked after very well by his team of 'regular' carers. He has a good appetite and enjoys the food prepared for him. The staff are always polite and helpful and let us know how dad has been getting on since our last visits.

I can see that my sister is comfortable and very well cared for. I have been present at feeding times and the meals are beautifully prepared. The team are very caring and patient with my sister.

I am extremely happy with the care that my mother and father are receiving at St Clare's Care Home, all the staff have been so caring and considerate and kind, which has helped my parents so much, and above all give me great comfort knowing they are in good care. Thank you to everyone.
