View Full Details of Brackenfield HallMy mother in law was in Brackenfield for 6 years, what an amazing place it is to put your loved ones in. The atmosphere when entering the building was calm, friendly and clean and odour free. The staff couldn't do enough for her and the activities was always going on, from coffee mornings to singers and outings to various places. The home in my option is very well managed. Staff are always friendly and chatty and made me feel I was welcome
We moved my Sister from another care home in sheffield as we had heard excellent reviews re Brackenfield care home at Frechville and I found the reviews correct, The cleanliness of the home is excellent and my Sister looks forward to her meals also the staff are very caring in their approach to the residents and close family of the residents. The care my sister receives is excellent really happy we moved her to Brackenfield.
My family and I are deeply grateful for the wonderful care my grandparent received at Brackenfield. From the very beginning, the staff treated him with kindness, dignity, and respect. They not only provided excellent medical and personal care, but also made every effort to ensure he felt comfortable, valued, and at home. What stood out most to us was the compassion shown by the entire team. They took the time to get to know him as a person, not just as a resident. Whether it was sharing a laugh, patiently listening to his stories, or simply sitting with him when he needed company, their presence made such a difference in his final months. The facilities were always clean, safe, and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt warm and supportive. Communication with our family was clear and thoughtful-we always felt informed and reassured that he was in good hands. Our family would recommend Brackenfield to anyone!
We are very happy with the care mum is receiving and all the staff who care for mum. The home is always very clean and is bright and inviting. Mum loves the meals and has been encouraged to join in with activities and has started making new friends.
I've read lots of the reviews of Brackenfield Hall and I don't recognise them as being about the care home that my mum lived in for 9 months. The ground floor area always seemed nice and had a good atmosphere but totally different to the EMI unit on the 1st floor which is where my mum was. There never seemed to be enough staff to cope with the number of dementia residents. My mums room was frequently dirty and on a few occasions I found poo and incontinence pads on the floor in her room. Often the door to her room was locked but no one could tell me why that was. All of her clothes and bedding were meticulously labelled but no one seemed to take any notice of that. From day 1 none of the bedding sets I'd bought were used, they all just vanished. Fundraisers for the unit never seemed to result in any improvements and activities seemed to rarely happen.Visiting at mealtimes is strictly forbidden whereas at other care homes it is encouraged. My mum was simply neglected here.
My mother moved into Brackenfield Hall on 1st September 2020 during Covid. Unfortunately we could not see the premises due to Covid restrictions so we were taking a risk. Mum needed care away from people with Dementia and this was the only home I could find where the care side was completely separate to the Dementia side. We could not have found a better home, from the care Mum was given through to the staff and management, all have been exemplary. The home is always very clean, tidy, well kept and decorated. Mum reached her 100th birthday in March and the party the staff put on for her was excellent and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Mum passed away on the 9th July and again the care and attention the staff gave was exemplary. As a family we had the comfort of knowing all the time Mum was at Brackenfield that she was being cared for and looked at after, which was a great comfort for us. We can highly recommend Brackenfield Hall to anyone who either needs care or who have dementia.
Mums been In a couple of weeks and has really settled in .. made a few friends . The staff are really good with mum . They are extremely friendly and go above and beyond for all residents . The food is 5 star and mum looks forward to every meal !

My mother has altzeimers and she was unable to continue living at home I made the decision that she would need to go into residential care for her own safety and my piece of mind From the first time we arrived at the care home we had a positive experience The home itself is very clean and the rooms are spacious and have there own facilities The communal areas are Lovley and the grounds are well kept All the staff have a great attitude and it is noted that they all care for the residents they are looking after The administration staff have taken the time and explained everything that I needed to know At present I Am considering full time care for my mother at Brackenfield as I have noticed a vast improvement in her general health and well being. If the decision is made for full time care I will be happy for her to be cared for at Brackenfield care home. I would rate it ten out of ten
My mum was at Brackenfield for the remaining years of her life. She was looked after well and her stay was made enjoyable for her by caring staff, good food and catering to her basic needs . We visited daily at Brackenfield and was always pleased with the care. Cleanliness was always paramount and in particular 3 members of the care staff work above and beyond for my mum. All staff were good and willing to help also. Thank you for all the care and support.
It is almost a year since Mum moved into Brackenfield Hall as a resident and the difference this has made to her wellbeing is amazing. Mum has settled in really well and feels safe and comfortable in her new home with en-suite facilities and all her needs catered for. The staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. We are so pleased we chose Brackenfield Hall and have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone.
I cannot begin to say how much Brackenfield Hall Care Home has improved my mother-in-law's general health and awareness. She seems a totally different person now. Her weight has improved due to the fact she enjoys her meals. There is always a good choice at meal times and I can honestly say that the food is of a really high standard and quality. How do I know? I have had a few meals at the home and they have all been excellent, especially the meat and potato pie. It is served by friendly staff at a table for 4, so the residents can chat away to one another. My mother-in-law has regained her appetite and looks forward to 'fish & chips' on Fridays. There are many activities available which non residents can participate in if so desired. The rooms are cleaned regularly and well maintained. Every Wednesday she looks forward to having her hair cut. Special praise must go to the staff who are caring, understanding and actually listen and act on any concerns that are raised.
We visited Mum on Mother's Day and were amazed at the fabulous spread of food and drinks provided by the catering staff. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and Mum was made to feel so special. It is so good to see how much progress that Mum has made since she became a resident and how much she enjoys being there. The smile on her face tells it all. Really big thanks to all the staff at Brackenfield Care home for providing her with Safety, Comfort, Dignity, Entertainment and Love.
