View Full Details of Woodlands Care CentreFantastic staff, very friendly and welcoming. My Nan seems very well cared for. Her room is very clean and tidy and she had lots of juice to drink. They seem to put lots of activities on and there seems to be many residents taking part in them.
I'd like to thank everyone at Woodlands for the care and support they gave my husband during his time there. Sadly, he has now passed away, but I'm very grateful that he was looked after with kindness and respect. The staff were always thoughtful, patient and professional. It was reassuring to know he was in safe hands, they kept me informed and involved throughout. Their support made a difficult time a little easier, thank you.
All staff have gone above and beyond. Feel very reassured my relation is being looked after with the utmost care and dignity. Communication is vital which again has been evident on all levels. Happy staff which is reflected by the way the Manager leads. Gold stars to you all.
Woodlands was simply the best! All of the staff on Coleridge were thoroughly professional, kind, caring and quickly took Mum into their hearts. Their warmth, patience, support & understanding helped Mum to learn to trust again, which wasn't an easy task. Mum warmed to all of them, regularly telling & showing me how much she loved them. I greatly valued the personal support that the staff extended to myself and my family from day one. As Mum settled down & responded to the kindness of the staff, visits became easier. My family and I were able to relax & have a laugh with Mum, something we hadn't experienced for years. We all made so many precious memories and were able to remind Mum how much we all loved & adored her. Mum's passing in 2024 was peaceful & dignified. The staff were so compassionate & understanding. Words are not enough to express how grateful and thankful I am for all of the truly amazing staff in Coleridge. You gave Mum back to us and I'll never forget you!
Can't thank all the staff on Coleridge for there exceptional care of my mum, they gave our mum back to us by treating her with compassion and dignity and looking after her needs. Mum had very bad experience's in two other care home and was so unhappy and myself and family were so downhearted and very stress until the Woodlands, they put mum in a healthy routine and steadily and we were able to become a family again, mum stopped been angry with my sister and I and we got to make lots of loving memories with her before sadly losing her. I would highly recommend the woodlands to anybody who needs specialist care.
Friendly staff and clean spacious accommodation. I loved seeing my friend on poster for virtual dementia bus. She looks comfortable here and her needs are catered for nicely. Location is perfect and ample parking available.
My mother is happy & content at Woodlands & this is a very nice place. She is very well looked after. My mother has settled in very well since her condition in 2021, and the staff are fantastic. I am very happy for my mother to continue to stay at Woodlands. This is now her home.
After five years of superb care at Woodlands, my husband died a few weeks ago in Coleridge unit. As his dementia increased, the staff managed his needs skilfully, courteously and tenderly. Much as I would rather have been able to care for him at home, it was clear that he was much more secure and settled in their well-trained hands. Throughout this difficult time, staff at all levels were always responsive to his needs and to my queries and requests as his advocate. Finally, the transition into his end-of-life care was seamless. I cannot recommend this thoroughly professionally run home enough.
My brother has been a resident at Woodlands Care Home in Cambridge for over 5 years and died there at the end of January. I have visited him regularly and have observed in all that time how excellently he has been cared for without exception. I am so grateful to the staff for their kindness, professionalism, warmth and skill in their dealings with my brother, and others, sometimes in the most challenging of situations. As a relative, I have been made to feel warmly welcomed with great helpfulness.
Visited my cousin on a new floor he was moved to. Staff were very helpful as always especially in helping us find it. My cousin was well dressed and clean and appeared content and happy. Although he is almost nonverbal and likes to wander various members of staff took time to acknowledge him by name and asked if he was ok. They had time to answer our questions and made sure we were OK too. Very good care home, excellent staff.
Excellent support for my mother-in-law with the staff putting us at ease as we are over 5 hours away, the team in Wordsworth are very helpful and good with her, she has been troubled by medication problems which appear to be getting resolved.
My mother has been to numerous care homes and hospitals in the last 18 months and only at this home for 10 weeks but already you can see how calm she is, I contact the care home every day and the staff are always polite and professional, constantly committed and confident when communicating with me and my family.
My dad has been at Woodlands for nearly 12 years now and we have never had any issues. The staff are friendly and the care he receives couldn't be better which gives me and my family peace of mind. If I could give 10 stars I would.
The care staff here are very kind and attentive to my father. They tend to work on the same little bit of the home and therefore know their residents very well. The nursing staff are very kind and responsive as well and have coordinated well with the medical team to make sure my father is on appropriate medication. The management seems really engaged, and will often be on the wards. The facilities are good and well-maintained. Would be nice for a tiny bit simpler access to the lovely garden for residents.
The staff are the best, they have all looked after my mum so well over last few years, can't thank them all enough for how well she is cared for. Have shown nothing but compasion, care and love for her.
At the start of the month, my wife needed to be transferred from a care home that was no longer able to accommodate her. The transfer has gone much more smoothly. Above all, she obviously feels much more at home at Woodlands than she had done at the previous home. In large part, this seems to be because she finds the food much better.
Friendly and caring staff, always available for updates. Give care in kind and compassionate manner. Plenty of activities on offer to all residents. The home seems to be the best place for my friend following a decline in his health.
When my dad first went to this care home he had just come out of hospital. He wasn't eating properly he had lost weight. And was very unsettled. As the weeks went on he is eating much better. Gained weight and has settled in very well. That's because the food is great and home-cooked. The staff are outstanding and very helpful towards him and family members. Feels very homely there and I'm always happy for Dad to be left there. When I go home.
Both of my parents have been at Woodlands Care Centre for around 18 months and both have specific care needs. They are both settled and happy at Woodlands and the carers at the home are really kind and attentive. The managers of my parents' wing are really well organised and I get the impression that this is the case throughout the care home. They make the time to talk to us about our parents if we have questions or need anything specific arranged for them. For example, they made a special effort to leave the dining room free for my Mum's 90th birthday so we could have a little family celebration which was really kind. My parents are getting really good care and we know they are safe and comfortable in the home. The care staff really notice when my parents are a bit down (having lost their independence) or need a bit of extra attention.
Woodlands Care Centre on the outside, appears to be just another care home, however, I can assure you it is so much more. It provided a home for my father and a safe place for us as a family to visit. We were always listened to, and would only ever need to ask once for something to be done. Dove unit, where my father was nursed for the last few months of his life, is without a doubt, outstanding. The staff provide excellent care to the residents and much-needed support to families and friends visiting. My father sadly died in September, but he was nursed and cared for with kindness and dignity to the very end. We cannot thank all the staff here enough, particularly the unit manager who is a very special individual and whom we will never forget.
