Overall Experience

Staff are lovely and polite but the lunchroom was like an oven (unbearable) and my sister had sweatpants on, she kept tugging at them, obviously meaning she was hot and uncomfortable. I asked the staff if they could find something cooler for her to wear. I bought a drink for my sister which she drank all of because clearly she was thirsty. In very hot temperatures they put a thick, woollen, and plastic full body bib on her. She was tugging at it and clearly uncomfortable. This is not ok.

The manager and staff are always very friendly and helpful. They always greet you with a smile and have time to chat and answer any questions that I may have.
The home is always clean and tidy and are now using natural cleaning products
There are varied activities every day with lots of local musicians which the residents always enjoy and many hands on activities also
One nice thing is that they always celebrate birthdays with a cake

In short it's just a lovely home

Staff are very kind and caring. Always happy to help my dad or any of us visiting him. The home is lovely and there is always so much to do. The activities are varied and include everyone. My dad has lived here since March 2023.
The nurse always keeps us informed of any health changes.
The Operations Manager is a lovely lady. Diana always takes time to speak to us and asks if we're ok or have any concerns.

Having been to visit dad in 2 different homes before he came to live at Woodlands, I can honestly say this outshines them by miles. We are very happy with the care dad receives.

Sadly my experience was poor, my daughter grandmother was placed on a puréed diet without a clinical assessment, staff advised she was on end of life care when this was not the case, medication stopped on another family members advice without checking with GP. Difficult to locate staff who one occasion told us they were short staffed . Safeguarding referrals were made and it appears standards have dropped with a recent management change staff we met were kind but the home did not meet her needs. Cot sides were put up which increased risk and were removed when she transferred to a new home

My husband has been in Woodlands for over, three years. It took him a little time
to settle in but thanks to the kindness shown by Roxy and Nick he became much more calm and relaxed. Unfortunately he has a time limiting prognosis and is now totally reliant on his careers. The carers on Dove have been brilliant and so thoughtful.
I visit a lot and am always made most welcome. very grateful ,.

I know my husband is safe and that is so important.

My father's discharge from hospital was complex - he was facing having to go to a delirium bed somewhere. Two care homes assessed him but were unable to take him. However from my first contact with Woodlands, the contact with their nurse, the scene changed entirely. I knew he would be in safe hands from the extremely professional and sensitive way the staff talked - I was proved right. The care he received was outstanding and the transition to palliative care was seamless. I felt tremendously relieved that he was in a good place at the end. As well as Alzheimer's he had co-morbidities which the nurses took in their stride eg the bedsores he had on admission disappeared within a day or two.

The most important thing is the quality of the care and the consummate skills of the staff; dad's needs were very swiftly understood and met. The whole ethos of the place is exceptional-and I've had cause to visit many care homes in the past! So can compare.

From the moment we were greeted at reception Woodlands made an excellent impression on us. As the first days progressed it was clear that the most import aspects of the care home are embodied in Woodlands. Quick to respond to our father's needs, patience when interacting with him, and genuinely caring shown at all levels - from Heads to the Cleaning Staff. Excellent!

I love living at Woodlands care centre, every staff member is very kind from the carers to the cleaner and management and as well. I enjoy spending time in their enclosed garden and joining in the various activities.
Personal care is of very high standard, nurses are on hand 24 hrs per day, recommend for dementia care, stroke respite and permanent care. Doctors are coming here every week for check ups.

It is a first class service, well recommended.

Woodlands was simply the best! All of the staff on Coleridge were thoroughly professional, kind, caring and quickly took Mum into their hearts. Their warmth, patience, support & understanding helped Mum to learn to trust again, which wasn't an easy task. Mum warmed to all of them, regularly telling & showing me how much she loved them. I greatly valued the personal support that the staff extended to myself and my family from day one. As Mum settled down & responded to the kindness of the staff, visits became easier. My family and I were able to relax & have a laugh with Mum, something we hadn't experienced for years. We all made so many precious memories and were able to remind Mum how much we all loved & adored her. Mum's passing in 2024 was peaceful & dignified. The staff were so compassionate & understanding. Words are not enough to express how grateful and thankful I am for all of the truly amazing staff in Coleridge. You gave Mum back to us and I'll never forget you!

Can't thank all the staff on Coleridge for there exceptional care of my mum, they gave our mum back to us by treating her with compassion and dignity and looking after her needs. Mum had very bad experience's in two other care home and was so unhappy and myself and family were so downhearted and very stress until the Woodlands, they put mum in a healthy routine and steadily and we were able to become a family again, mum stopped been angry with my sister and I and we got to make lots of loving memories with her before sadly losing her. I would highly recommend the woodlands to anybody who needs specialist care.
