When Mum went into your care 3 years ago, she was unable to walk unaided and was very frail and weak. Over time, with the care and encouragement of the staff, she was able to walk and mobilise. She enjoyed all the activities, was happy and settled and responded well to any treatments and medical needs.
She made many friends among staff, other residents and their relatives and led a full and happy life to the age of 98. Sadly, she passed away on 23rd May 2026 in her room with family beside her. The staff were very supportive, kind and compassionate, and she was treated with dignity and respect.
Reply from Kerrie McNamara, General Manager at Maidstone Care CentreThank you for your kind words. It was a delight caring for mum and supporting her during her last days, she will be missed by us all.

I have been visiting this care home regularly over the last month and have had a positive experience every time. The staff are incredibly friendly 8. Caring; they always make residents and visitors feel welcomed, the amenities are fantastic, not only for residents but for visitors too. We are often
offered food and drinks during our visits, which is a lovely touch. The foyer has a coffee machine available, and there is fresh cake baked daily for visitors, creating a warm and homely atmosphere.
Overall, it is a caring, comfortable & welcoming environment. That puts people first.

My mother has been shown nothing but care and compassion. The staff that I have met are engaging and dedicated to making my mum feel happy and part of a family. To quote her, they cannot do enough for her, and it does feel like home. This can only be good for her well-being and mental health. Therefore,
I have only praise for the staff and facilities provided.

I appreciate that Withens Nursing Home is located in a very old- fashioned building, but feel the interior needs a lot of updating. The rooms are adequate but shabby, and some of the furnishings are hardly fit for purpose. Overall, the staff are good and very helpful, always pleasant. My husband has
not gone from his room, so I cannot comment on activities.

Queens Court Care Home

from C T (Partner of Resident) published on 10 June 2026

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
I am writing this review out of deep frustration and anger regarding the care my relative received at Queens Court Care Home. Families place enormous trust in care homes to protect vulnerable people, and sadly this home failed in its basic duty of care.
During our experience we witnessed unacceptable
hygiene standards, with my relative left in soiled clothing for long periods and rooms not properly cleaned. We also faced poor communication from management, including unanswered concerns about unexplained injuries and a lack of transparency. Food and drinks were often left out of reach, contributing to dehydration and weight loss that could have been avoided.

When concerns were raised, management responded defensively rather than taking accountability or addressing the problems properly. The high staff turnover and lack of adequately trained carers were obvious throughout.

I would strongly urge families considering this home to look elsewhere. Basic dignity, safety, and quality care is lacking.

The care manager and all the staff are kind, professional and patient. They treat residents with utmost dignity, respect and genuine love. The home has always a welcoming homely atmosphere and is kept immaculately clean. Our relative loves daily activities, which range from music and some other entertainment.
The catering is exceptional, with great daily menu choices. The staff knows what he likes.

We are especially pleased that your relative enjoys the daily activities and entertainment, as well as the catering options tailored to his preferences.

I visited my friend, and she was taking part in a singalong group in the lounge upstairs. It was called 'The Sunshine Choir'. which I thought was such a lovely name. The lady who was leading it was so kind and caring with the residents, speaking to them all as individuals and really brightening their
day, and I felt bringing hope and brightness to their lives. She describes them all as a family, and there really was that feel to it. They were singing along to a keyboard, and it was played amazingly and professionally.

Our family are new to care homes and it is a very traumatic experience for the patients, as well as family, we felt at ease immediately on our first visit having experienced a very upsetting placement. I and my family can only praise the attention, professionalism and genre and ambience of all the staff,
carers and management. They have made the transition from hospital to home so carefree. This home cares and I can sleep easier knowing he is receiving the attention and care I can no longer provide myself. We can also enjoy the activities with him well done keep up the good work.

Context: my Mum moved to Romford care home from York. She is now round the corner from me instead of 250 miles away. I'm overjoyed at how my Mum has been accepted into the Romford Care Home family, she is happy and content living with Dementia with the amazing support and compassion of the team on Raphael's
and the wider team there. She's only been there a week and already the change in her is huge, her depression is lifting, she is being physically cared for and is eating, drinking and clean. She feels safe and secure and welcome and that's made all the difference to her. The activities are daily and enjoyable and the atmosphere feels like family should feel.
Now I also feel like a huge worry has been lifted and am able to actually enjoy spending time with her and the other residents and team instead of firefighting, and feeling like I'm fighting against the tide to get her what she needed to live at home safely. I'm so pleased I get to be with her in her reality happily. Thank you x

After a series of falls in her own flat, I managed to get a place for my mum in Park View Care Centre in October 2024. Right from the beginning, I felt mum was in a much safer environment. The rooms were comfortable and the staff very welcoming. There are many activities for the residents to join in
with, should they wish to. The management and nursing staff are first class, although some of the night staffing provided by agency staff could be better. I would highly recommend Park View Care Centre.

My mother is a resident at this wonderful care home.

It is spotlessly clean, has spacious, comfortable rooms and excellent facilities.

The staff are incredible - the front office (reception, customer service, administration) are all very efficient whilst also being very open and friendly. They value

our input and make us feel like family - community is an intrinsic part of the home's ethos, and the place has a wonderful atmosphere because of this. The carers are all wonderful - warm, friendly, patient and very focused on the residents' well-being and dignity at all times. The events team provide a vast, inventive variety of daily activities for the residents, who always have something fun to do, and this is very important. Whilst I haven't tasted it myself, I'm told the food is of a very high standard.

It is a huge relief for my wife and I to know that now that we are no longer able to care for her at home, my mother is receiving the very best of care at this exceptional residence.
