Unfortunately, our experience at Brentwood Care Centre was very disappointing. Management were unprofessional, and we felt our concerns about Dad's care were not taken seriously. His care plans and records did not reflect the care he was actually receiving, and concerns around his nutrition and wellbeing left us extremely worried.
I want to make it clear that this is not a reflection of all the staff. Many staff members were trying their best in difficult circumstances, and we appreciate their efforts. In particular, a more recent staff member, Hayley, was praised by my brother, who felt she was really good and wished she had been there from the beginning.
Despite the positive CQC inspection, our personal experience was very different. After raising safeguarding concerns, we felt the situation became even more difficult, and Dad was eventually given notice to leave.
As a family, we felt let down by management and that we had to fight to have our voices heard. I sincerely hope standards improve.
