When Mum went into your care 3 years ago, she was unable to walk unaided and was very frail and weak. Over time, with the care and encouragement of the staff, she was able to walk and mobilise. She enjoyed all the activities, was happy and settled and responded well to any treatments and medical needs.
She made many friends among staff, other residents and their relatives and led a full and happy life to the age of 98. Sadly, she passed away on 23rd May 2026 in her room with family beside her. The staff were very supportive, kind and compassionate, and she was treated with dignity and respect.
Reply from Kerrie McNamara, General Manager at Maidstone Care CentreThank you for your kind words. It was a delight caring for mum and supporting her during her last days, she will be missed by us all.

Our family are new to care homes and it is a very traumatic experience for the patients, as well as family, we felt at ease immediately on our first visit having experienced a very upsetting placement. I and my family can only praise the attention, professionalism and genre and ambience of all the staff,
carers and management. They have made the transition from hospital to home so carefree. This home cares and I can sleep easier knowing he is receiving the attention and care I can no longer provide myself. We can also enjoy the activities with him well done keep up the good work.

My mother was referred to Maidstone Care Centre from the general hospital. When we had to choose a permanent home, mum decided she would like to stay in Maidstone Care Centre. The staff are very friendly, patient and caring. The home has a quiet, relaxed and respectful atmosphere. The nursing care was
high quality, and the nurses would consistently liaise with mums doctor, so we never felt she was neglected. The nurses are also very knowledgeable themselves.

I cannot praise the care centre enough. The staff were professional, very caring and always on hand to offer help and advice. They treated my uncle with dignity at all times. Addressed him by name and always stopped to talk to him and share a joke. They phoned me and kept me informed of any changes
to his needs/care and told me how they addressed it. I knew when I left the care home my uncle was safe and happy. Everyone from housekeeper to senior staff greeted me. Well done to all and thank you.

After experiencing a couple of months, first in one hospital, then transferred to another hospital my sister was very confused and distressed. As I was. Your staff were very patient with both of us and slowly calmed the situation down. She has now settled in and is calmer (so am I). It is reassuring
to know she is now in the best place.

I would like to start by thanking all the staff for their continued support and care provided for my Mother.
Emily had moved to this care home after not really adjusting well in another place but since her move to Maidstone Care Center her whole well being has changed and she has settled in well to
her new surroundings.
The Team are fantastic they support her and needs extremely well and my family and myelf are really impressed with continued effort and support they put in every day.
The whole experience of trying to get a person with complex needs to settle in unfamiliar surrounding was always going to be challenging but the staff and the management teams took it in their stide and deliver exceptional care and high standards.Whenever a family memeber visits they always comment on how good the facilities are so we know that my mother is in the best place .
Thankyou to all at Maidstone Care Center for their continued dedicated support.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Maidstone Care Centre. My wife spent her final days there and although in great pain the nursing and care made her time as comfortable as possible. Their patience while trying to encourage her to eat was remarkable and of great comfort to the family as we know
she was in good hands. She is now at peace but greatly missed by us.

My mother stayed for a week's respite in October.
This was the first time she had been in a care home and we were very anxious.
However, the staff and the management made us feel so welcome, they were understanding and sympathetic.
Mum enjoyed her stay and made new friends. She's already talking
about her next visit.
The home was so clean and warm.
There was plenty of activities and mum enjoyed the food (especially her puddings).
Would definitely be back.
Would recommend to anyone.
Thank you so much for taking such good care of mum and for giving us peace of mind and a well earned break from caring for mum.

It is often hard to write such a positive review without sounding bias. However, my mum has been in and out of several care homes now and all of them have been far inferior compared to Maidstone Care Centre. This place has continued to amaze me from day one with the level of care, compassion, commitment,
and honesty. It is always clean and tidy, the residents are so very well looked after to the absolute highest standards I think I have ever seen. The management, the head nurses and the care teams have just been overwhelming with how much they care for my mum and handling all of her complex care needs. I can honestly say that there are no words can describe how happy I am with the complete service Maidstone Care Centre has and continue to offer. If you are unfortunate enough to need a care home. Do not ignore this place. With love and gratitude.
Reply from Abigail Draper, Customer Relations Team at Maidstone Care CentreThank you for such a heartfelt and generous review. We're truly touched by your kind words and delighted to know that your mum has received the care, compassion, and support she deserves. It means so much to hear that the team's dedication, professionalism, and high standards have made such a difference to both of you. Your trust and gratitude will be deeply appreciated by everyone at Maidstone Care Centre.

My elderly mother moved in June from Hospital, and I was very apprehensive about her going into full time care.
She had several pressure after her stay in hospital and needed full time nursing care.
My first impressions of the home manager were great, she was very understanding and reassuring.
Despite
being bed bound, I am pleased to say that her wounds are nearly all healed, thanks to round the clock care and high protein diet.
She is now quite well.
Staff are friendly and helpful, there is an open house policy. I visit every day and speak to all staff and residents. and always feel welcome.

My elderly cousin moved into this home from another around 8 months ago. She was in the previous home for a few years but we needed to move her closer. Initially, I was worried about the move, but the staff and nurses have been brilliant. Although, sometimes short staffed, the staff always make the
time to bring her into the lounge and involve her in any activities and although she can't walk and is either sitting or lying in her bed, she is always washed and dressed, has no bed sores and her room plus the home is kept very clean. All the staff are friendly and have been amazing.

This place early has been a bad experience for the last 18 months. Glad the manager has left, had about 4 managers in this little time. Some staff need to learn to communicate with the residents and sadly there is a constant change of staff, which unsettles the residents. Not enough staff and my parent
is often put in her room, as staff have said there is no one to keep an eye on her!! Staff have been encouraged to put reviews on this page to boost review score, as told to us by staff . Too much is swept under the carpet, falls that apparently no staff ever see. Mum has lost so much weight and been held back by manager to get help for her. Relatives have noticed how bad it has become. CQC reports been bad and got worse over time. This place never seems to get its act together or employ enough staff to deal with the kind of care needs these poor relatives need. Residents often ignored by staff when they are trying to talk to them . No emotional support whatever.
Reply from Abigail Draper, Customer Relations Team at Maidstone Care CentreThank you for bringing this to our attention. We are sorry that you have needed to raise your concerns in this way. Please be assured that we take your feedback very seriously and we apologise for any anxiety that has been caused to you and your family. The safe and compassionate delivery of care with appropriate staffing levels are our priorities, and we continue to work with all regulators to ensure this is the case. We would like to have the opportunity to discuss these matters with you in person at a meeting with the Operations Director who is responsible for Maidstone Care Centre. Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.403)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.403) out of 10 for Maidstone Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 42 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.403 for Maidstone Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (294 Excellents x 5) + (139 Goods x 4) + (38 Satisfactorys x 3) + (12 Poors x 2) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 494 Ratings = 4.403
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Maidstone Care Centre is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
