The Culinary Team, led by an experienced Chef, prepare nutritious and flavourful meals every day. These seasonal menus are thoughtfully designed to promote the health and well-being of residents, making mealtimes a delightful and social experience.

Excellent care home in all aspects. Manager/deputy manager friendly and very supportive and professional at all times. Friendly care staff and helpful. Settled resident in very quickly and made him feel at home very quickly.

I have been visiting my mother for the last 4 months and have always found the staff and management cannot do enough. Nothing is too much trouble. So I know that when I leave her after a visit that she is comfortable and safe with a professional team. I always look forward to my next visit.

My aunt was only with you for seven weeks but the care and dignity given was exemplary from the receptionist right through to the manager, including the handyman and domestics. I felt very comfortable leaving my loved one at Park View. Her final days went as well as they could, and the care and compassion
and dignity displayed to both myself and my aunt could not be more comforting. Every need was met timely and courteously

My wife was having a poor experience finding other residents in her room when she returned from activities. This was a set back to her well being as she had only recently been taking part in the fantastic and varied activities provided. This was quickly resolved by trusting her with her own door key.
This
illustrates the kindness and helpfulness that we have been shown since my wife moved in to the dementia unit in January.
Every member of staff (and I really mean every) we have ever come into contact with has shown us nothing but kindness.

My mum has only been in Park View Care Centre for 6 weeks. She was staying in a home before that for three years. The place itself is very nicely laid out with its own bistro where you can go have coffee, cakes and even a glass of wine. I have a feeling with the place when visiting that it has a tranquil
atmosphere which gives you a nice relaxing mode. When my mum first went in she was uneasy but in the last two weeks she has settled down and it's been a long time since I have seen her smile, which she has been doing lately, she just seems relaxed not so anxious. My mum is encouraged to join in the activities, Enjoys going to the restaurant for lunch and dinner The staff and manager who are willing to work with you. I would recommend this place even if you just come and have a look.
My mum has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's and does not walk now so a lot of care is needed and I believe she is getting that care.

My 102 year old uncle came straight from hospital, and has settled quickly, through the care and attention he has received.
He so enjoys his food and has even put on a little weight, it's great to see him smile again

My mother was put onto end of life pathway in January. The staff thoroughly explained what this meant. Over the next few weeks all of the staff on oak helped my mum, caring for her kindly and making sure she was comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum was offered her favourite food to tempt her
to eat. She has hand massages to relax her and staff went into her room more regularly to offer any help or support she wanted. It was the best care given kindly and with compassion.

Always a pleasant visit, the staff are friendly, teas and coffees and yummy cakes and treats on hand as always. Makes it a lovely social visit and not a visit of duty. My wife moved to Park View Care Home in May 2024, she has settled in very well. All the nursing staff and carers have been very helpful and supportive to us both. Food is very good, lots of different tasty home cooked meals, plenty of snacks and drinks during the day. There is a hairdresser on site,
which is fantastic, as my wife is bed bound, so the hairdresser does room visits too. There is plenty of entertainment, for any resident to participate in. Rooms and public areas are very clean. In general, I can rest assured my wife is in good hands.

My mum moved into Park View Care Centre at the beginning of the month and has settled incredibly well. The home had an instant warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff very welcoming and kind. I am pleased to give a favourable review of the care my wife receives. She is deteriorating with dementia, but is quite settled and at home in her environment. This tells me that her carers are looking after her well, otherwise she would be distressed which is not the case. I can leave her after my
visits with peace of mind knowing that she is receiving the care she needs. At times it is demanding for the carers to deal with residents who have mental difficulties, I have witnessed how well the staff manage situations that can arise among the residents. So, I am pleased to give a five star rating on behalf of myself and my family who are all in agreement with my review.

My mother has been resident at Park View Care Centre since November 2022. The manager is very approachable and indeed encourages residents and relatives to let him know if if there are any problems. He is full of ideas and initiatives to make life in the home as pleasant as possible. All staff are caring,
pleasant and friendly. We visit regularly, usually unannounced and always find mum to be clean, her room spotless and the staff knowledgeable and helpful. There is a very active team organising entertainment who are excellent at encouraging residents to join in.

I never cease to be amazed by the kindness and patience of the carers at Park View Care Centre. Six months of caring by myself for my wife exhausted me. These ladies do it day after day. Nothing seems to faze them, incontinence, ingratitude, they take it in their stride. We owe them a big debt of gratitude
for shouldering the burden.

My husband has Parkinson's dementia and is only 59. The home is not perfect but they try their best at all times. I feel that my husband is safe and well looked after in a calm, very clean environment. Thank you team.

All the staff work hard. Very helpful receptionist at the front desk. Recently appointed new management, they have been liaising with the residents which has helped a lot in terms of food content and options, and more activities. Meals are an important part of the day for my aunt and others. Chef has
visited to talk directly. Some changes in the communal rooms layout, again, management are trying not just sit back.

I am very pleased with the care home: my sister is very happy there. Plenty of entertainment, hairdressers and plenty to do to keep her entertained. It is spotlessly clean and the staff are brilliant. We go in any time of the day, which is great for us.

Our bright and homely rooms are beautifully decorated with bespoke furnishings which can be further personalised with your own valued keepsakes.The home and all of our bedrooms are accessible for individual mobility needs.’

Darren

Darren Humby

Job Title: General Manager

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, Darren brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to Park View Care Centre.


A Registered Nurse by background, Darren has worked across a variety of specialities, both in the NHS and in private healthcare. His transition to private healthcare included leadership roles such as Care Services Manager and Registered Care Home Manager, where his passion for high-quality care continued to thrive.


Darren's dedication to care excellence has been recognised on the national stage, having twice won at the National Finals of the Great British Care Awards in the Frontline Leader and Care Home Manager categories.


At Park View, Darren is driven by a commitment to leading his team in a way that fosters growth and delivers the highest possible standards for residents. He believes that great care comes from great teamwork and that leadership and governance are key to helping his team become the best versions of themselves. Darren’s goal is to ensure that Park View Care Centre continues to be a place where both staff and residents thrive, with everyone working together to deliver the exceptional care that residents and their families expect.

Karen McCall

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2016

With over 22 years of experience working in social care, Karen became a valued member of the Park View family when she join in 2016.


Over the years her role has changed and every role has had different things which Karen enjoys. 'A part of my role which I like is setting families minds at rest and that they have done what is best for a relative. The guilt people feel at placing loved ones in care can be huge! When they see their relative settled and happy it brings them a great deal of peace and it makes me feel proud that our team has helped them.'


Karen is also proud to be part of team who respect and care for each other.


When she is not at work Karen enjoys reading, she also loves ABBA and dancing. Most importantly, Karen loves spending time with her grand children who keep her very busy!
