I cannot praise him enough and have seen how he is constantly out and about around the unit making sure that the highest standard of care is maintained at all times, observing the staff and getting to know all the residents.I know that my mum has settled in really well and loves seeing him. The wonderful receptionist has been so caring and helpful to us all. Likewise all the activity and entertainment team are brilliant, the carers and housekeeping team are so cheerful and caring towards all the clients too.

Management at the time was weak, but she was well cared for by the staff. There was a subsequent high turnover in the manager position, but this stabilised and the current post holder is doing an excellent job. Throughout my mum's stay, the staff have been kind and loving. At the end, the experience was exceptional, and the kindness and support I received was overwhelming.

The management, nursing and caring staff are very friendly and keep her amused. The food is excellent, just like home-cooked. Her room is regularly cleaned and well-maintained. Most staff are great and the atmosphere is excellent. There is room for some improvement in the attitude and approach of some members of staff. My needs are very specific and initially some staff struggled - once they listened to me and followed my instructions things improved greatly.

My mother was put onto end of life pathway in January. The staff thoroughly explained what this meant. Over the next few weeks all of the staff on oak helped my mum, caring for her kindly and making sure she was comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum was offered her favourite food to tempt her to eat. She has hand massages to relax her and staff went into her room more regularly to offer any help or support she wanted. It was the best care given kindly and with compassion.

With over 22 years of experience working in social care, Karen became a valued member of the Park View family when she join in 2016.
Over the years her role has changed and every role has had different things which Karen enjoys. 'A part of my role which I like is setting families minds at rest and that they have done what is best for a relative. The guilt people feel at placing loved ones in care can be huge! When they see their relative settled and happy it brings them a great deal of peace and it makes me feel proud that our team has helped them.'
Karen is also proud to be part of team who respect and care for each other.
When she is not at work Karen enjoys reading, she also loves ABBA and dancing. Most importantly, Karen loves spending time with her grand children who keep her very busy!
