We were made very welcome and given a choice of rooms. The staff were all very caring and ensured mum was comfortable. She was treated with dignity and respect. All the staff were compassionate in our hours of need and could not have been more professional and caring.

Mum's Altzheimers was getting more severe and we'd reached crisis point. We were given a number for Park View (30 miles away) and contacted them. Unfazed by mum's issues, they swiftly assessed her and immediately offered her a place. We visited and liked the purpose-built layout, the instant smiles
from every member of staff and their professionalism. Mum remained there for around four months until we moved her closer to 'home'. Her care was exemplary; we certainly didn't move her because we were unhappy. Park View provides a very safe and warm environment. They quickly assessed how to approach her care needs (she can be difficult - no problem). She was very well fed and swiftly returned to a healthy weight, having previously been severely underweight. The changeover was handled wonderfully, even providing a carer to accompany us all to her new home. Thank you, Park View for everything - and for allowing her to pilfer a tumbler as a souvenir!

My mother is enjoying a period of respite care ar Park View and is very happy with her new surroundings. She has been helped to settle in smoothly and has a lovely room. I am particularly impressed with the activities and fun things she gets involved in. She loves the live music and dancing opportunities.
I joined in with Pancake making with her which was great fun.

To start on arrival the house smelt normal which was a huge relief. The staff have been friendly and open from the start. The serving staff have generally been bubbly and friendly. I would like to see a regular programme of visits from a doctor to constantly review the pain levels and appropriate doses
of medicine. The room is perfectly acceptable and as his taste buds have loosely gone, the food is good.

My aunt was in the home for several years and owing to her condition was not always the easiest person to care for but the staff were always kind and compassionate and always treated her with respect and dignity.

Park View was able to take my aunt in at short notice, her dementia having advanced, swiftly preventing her from living at home.
The staff were caring and sensitive, both to myself and my aunt's step-daughter and to my aunt herself.
Everything was explained clearly and her admission went smoothly.
When a further stroke meant that she had to go into the nursing level this was handled well.
The contract and payment side was also handled well, not rushed as I have heard happens in some places.

My mum came in with grade four plus sores. The home has been caring, honest, helpful and very supportive. I could not have asked for anything better. My dad is also in Park View and has been so much better since he came in.

Mum lived in Park View Home for 6yrs and was very settled. Unfortunately after a very short illness of seven weeks, Mum passed away on July 3rd. I visited on June 22nd, I had been going daily for weeks. Mum seemed to be so poorly. On the 22nd of June, I was told I could stay. This was a comfort for
Mum, me and my family. I can't thank the staff enough, they were truly amazing. Family were made welcome, carers, nurses, cleaners, laundry, entertainment and management supported me at a difficult time. I would not have coped without the wonderful people at Park View, they showed care and respect to my lovely mum. Often people moan about care homes. I wanted to let people know how amazing, human, caring and supportive the home really is and to give thanks from the bottom of my heart.
I miss my mum so much although have some comfort knowing how well cared for Mum was in such a lovely home. Mum could not swallow due to her Parkinsons and was on a purree diet. The kitchen made a great effort. I am still missing my mum so very much, I am devastated.

Following recent changes in management, Park View has continued to improve from an already reasonably high standard. In the seven and a half years I have been associated with the nursing home, there has never been cause for serious complaint. Recent positive steps have been towards residents entertainment
and more inclusion of relatives input into care, food and communication. All staff are approachable, willing to listen and react when necessary in a positive way.

I cannot praise the staff at Park View highly enough. My Dad was there for 18 months, and during the first 8 months our Mum was still alive, and she visited daily, often being asked to stay for refreshments etc. so that they were still treated as a couple. After she passed away, the nurses, cleaning
staff all did their very best to bridge the gap in his loss. All the staff were very patient with him when he couldn't understand where our Mum was and why she wasn't visiting. Their care and devotion during his final days surpassed anything we could have expected and allowed our Dad to spend his last days in what had become his home. We often would hear the nurses speaking to him with affection and always with respect so that he maintained a dignity even in his passing.


The nurses were kindness itself to his family were always on hand to give us sympathy and understanding, they supported us during a very difficult time. God Bless.

My mother has been in nursing since December 2015, I visit weekly. My mother is always in her room and in a wheelchair. She only sees support workers whilst carrying out their care duties. She can have no contact or communication with other residents as they too are kept in their rooms. The home has
had numerous managers within the last three years and constant staffing problems. Hopefully, the newly appointed manager will turn the home around.

The care given to my father is excellent. The staff who care for him are kind, compassionate and treat him with dignity. He receives excellent care and food. My mother is in the nursing wing with dementia since December 2016.
I moved her from another nursing home to be closer to me.

Darren Humby

Job Title: General Manager

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, Darren brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to Park View Care Centre.


A Registered Nurse by background, Darren has worked across a variety of specialities, both in the NHS and in private healthcare. His transition to private healthcare included leadership roles such as Care Services Manager and Registered Care Home Manager, where his passion for high-quality care continued to thrive.


Darren's dedication to care excellence has been recognised on the national stage, having twice won at the National Finals of the Great British Care Awards in the Frontline Leader and Care Home Manager categories.


At Park View, Darren is driven by a commitment to leading his team in a way that fosters growth and delivers the highest possible standards for residents. He believes that great care comes from great teamwork and that leadership and governance are key to helping his team become the best versions of themselves. Darren’s goal is to ensure that Park View Care Centre continues to be a place where both staff and residents thrive, with everyone working together to deliver the exceptional care that residents and their families expect.

Karen McCall

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2016

With over 22 years of experience working in social care, Karen became a valued member of the Park View family when she join in 2016.


Over the years her role has changed and every role has had different things which Karen enjoys. 'A part of my role which I like is setting families minds at rest and that they have done what is best for a relative. The guilt people feel at placing loved ones in care can be huge! When they see their relative settled and happy it brings them a great deal of peace and it makes me feel proud that our team has helped them.'


Karen is also proud to be part of team who respect and care for each other.


When she is not at work Karen enjoys reading, she also loves ABBA and dancing. Most importantly, Karen loves spending time with her grand children who keep her very busy!
