Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They treated my mum with dignity and respect as if they have known her a while. Staff greeted her on arrival and when the undertaker took my mum, again staff came out to see her off which was a lovely touch. Well done to all!

We can't thank Orchard House Care Home enough for the care and compassion they showed our family.

They looked after my partner's grandad until he passed on 24th April, and the support we received was incredible. We are a large family, yet we were always made to feel welcome, never in the way.

The staff went above and beyond in every sense. Nothing was too much trouble, and they showed constant kindness, patience, and understanding during such a difficult time.

Most importantly, they treated my partners Grandad with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion in his final moments. It brought us great comfort knowing that not only was he surrounded by his family, but he was so well cared for too.

We will always be grateful, they truly couldn't have done anything better.

My Dad had been in Orchard since January 2026 it was a difficult transition for him, I talked to senior staff and care staff they were super supportive and encouraged Dad to join in with activities, my stepmother was already in the care home and Dad's room was arranged so he could be with his wife by sitting together having their meals or watching TV, this was lovely for both of them.

Sadly my Dad became unwell and needed palliative end of life care, we as a family didn't want dad to go into hospital. Orchard House were brilliant and we're happy to care for dad. Staff were understanding and kind they showed us love and care as a family and the care for my dad in his last days was exceptional all the staff from seniors and carers, cleaners, kitchen staff were kind and compassionate. We will always be eternally grateful for their love and support and for the dignity shown to our Dad. My dad passed away peacefully.

Thank you Orchard House and the amazing caring and compassionate staff

I wanted to express my gratitude to the team at Orchard house, my dad was in the home from January 2026 until he sadly passed away in April 2026, the care, love and kindness shown to dad was beyond what we as a family could of ever experienced, particularly as dad found the transition difficult.

In April dad received the most incredible palliative care, no words of thanks will ever be enough, it was beyond anything we could have imagined.

We as a family are speechless, the staff involved in dad's care could not have given anymore than they did and we will be forever grateful to each and every one of them that cared for dad, from manager's/seniors, care staff, kitchen staff and housekeeping, beyond incredible.

We are a big family and the love and care given to us as a family was incredible, allowing us to stay together with dad through the last week of his life.

Nothing was too much trouble, we were looked after and the care was above and beyond..

Thank you, we will never forget.

There really are no words to describe how incredible the people are at this care home. My grandad resided at orchard house from January 2026 till he passed away in April. The carers go above and beyond and truly care for their service users. My grandad was put in palliative care/end of life and with such a big family around his beside they couldn't do enough for us and with such dignity and respect also. Refreshments, lunch & snacks were served up for the family around the clock while we spent grandads last 3 days there as a family. Nothing was ever too much for them and we were allowed to come and go and we please and make use of the facilities such as the beautiful garden at the back.

Unfortunately I am unable to name them but there are a select few people that should get a special mention who I'm sure my whole family will carry in their hearts for a very long time and we are eternitly grateful for everything you have done for our family and our grandad in his time here.

My mum has been a resident at Orchard House Care Home for over 2 years now, she has been bed bound for almost all of this time. Mum has liked her time here, she likes all the staff, their kindness and didn't want to leave to move closer to family, so, for me, this speaks volumes as to how good the care is and the staff are at Orchard House. Recently mum has been receiving paliative car, the nurse Paula called me straight away to advise me on her treatment & what this meant. Mum is kept very comfortable and she is happy. While I live quite a journey from the home I am confident she is getting the best care, which give our family peace of mind. All the staff are lovely.

My first impressions of Orchard House Care Home, warm, very, and welcoming members of staff. The manager and all staff work together to make sure the residents feel safe, respected and cared for everyday. A great range of activities, outings and service for the residents, organised by the hardworking activities team. Nothing ever seems to much trouble for the hardworking staff. The staff treat the people with much respect, tending to all their needs, they do many activities for them, taking them out and arranging things for them in the home. They are a caring bunch of people. The home is always clean with everything in its place, the meals are varied, and all food looks good.

This has got to be the most well run care home I have ever visited; nothing is too much trouble for the carers.

My sister got married early May and we really wanted our mum to still be apart of the special day. Before the wedding the staff communicated the plan for the day. It all worked out perfectly. Seeing mum at the front of the church looking happy, proud and dressed lovely. Brought tears to my eyes. Mum was overwhelmed with being apart of the special day. Mum was treated with dignity. I have worked in the care sector for more than 20 years and joined Orchard House in 2010. Since then, I have progressed through a number of roles, beginning as a Carer and working my way up to become General Manager.

I am passionate about supporting residents and their loved ones, ensuring each person receives compassionate, person-centred care that reflects their individual needs, choices and preferences. I am equally committed to creating a positive and supportive culture where residents and team members can thrive.

It is a privilege to lead the exceptional team at Orchard House, and I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together. Honey Berry
Honey BerryJob Title:Dementia Ambassador

I am Honey Berry, Dementia Ambassador at Orchard House Care Home in Wisbech. I began my career in care at the age of 18 and have more than 11 years’ experience supporting people living with dementia and their families.

My passion for dementia care is deeply personal. It began when I helped support my Nanny after she became unwell and grew stronger when my other Nanny was diagnosed with dementia. Experiencing her journey as a family member, particularly during the pandemic, gave me a deeper understanding of the fear, uncertainty and heartache dementia can bring.

As Dementia Ambassador, I combine professional knowledge with personal experience to support residents, families and colleagues at Orchard House. I champion person-centred dementia care by helping the team understand each resident’s history, preferences, routines and individual ways of communicating.

Whether connection comes through music, reminiscence, a familiar activity or a quiet moment together, my priority is to ensure every resident feels safe, valued and recognised as the person they have always been.

I also support families throughout their loved one’s dementia journey by listening without judgement, offering practical guidance and reassurance, and helping them remain involved in decisions about their loved one’s care.

My work has received regional and national recognition, including winning East of England awards for Dementia Carer, Care Assessor and Palliative/End of Life Care. I have also received national finalist and Highly Commended recognition and was invited to join the Dementia Care Awards judging panel for the Creative Nutrition Award.
