Orchard House is a safe friendly environment, the residents are treated with respect and patience. The staff are always on hand and always smiling. It's nice to see the same friendly faces each week and great comfort to know familiar faces are caring for my father. Dad seems very settled here which is a must for us. He gets regular drinks and snacks and has free movement on the top floor which allows him to still be mostly independant. There are plenty of activities to get involved will and weekly updates on the schedule. A nice care home.

Orchard House Care Home are a spectacular team of carers, my mother moved here after an emergency care home move and they have been so welcoming to her and our family. The standard of living at orchard house is exceptional and the quality of care is amazing as everyone there is just so lovely. Unfortunately my mother's birthday was spent in hospital but she is now being looked after in the care of Orchard House again and when she returned they organised a party for her and our family in a private room and they had a birthday cake made for her too. Couldn't ask for better service and care, they have just been wonderful.

The Orchard House Care Home team are truly amazing. Every care is taken to make sure all patrons are cared for and extra special care especially during the Christmas season. Visits from Santa (exceptional), elves and the wee donkey. My dear dad's face lit up with true joy, he loved the visits. Even though he is bed bound he still was included. Absolutely priceless memories made.

Orchard House Care Home, is amazing. They go above and beyond to support their residents, with fun activities and special events. My mother in law lives here and all her support workers are so kind and fun. For her grandson's wedding, they helped her prepare and went above and beyond to make her look beautiful for the day. They have lovely facilities and a peaceful garden where they have barbecues and activities.

Since my granddad has been here, we have attended a few activities that have been planned - singers, Halloween activities, children in need - everyone has really enjoyed these events.
Grandad has also commented on the time he has seen the singers and people coming to see him in his room to chat to him, he has enjoyed.

My family are also planning on attending the Christmas fair.

I was recently told the staff were going to decorate my dad's room. I expected some new paint and maybe the curtains changed. I was wrong. they have totally personalised his room and it looks amazing. As soon as you enter you can see all his interests on the wall in paintings and accessories. My dad is so happy, the staff have been fantastic for him since he moved in.

The staff very pleasant attitude, very helpful with problems, giving information about Mum without me asking. Facilities are always clean and tidy and the food seems nice (looks good). Mum has mobility problems and staff are very patient with her. The office staff are helpful when funding from the local authority was delayed.

Orchard House always smells nice and fresh, all staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy, meals and snacks are excellent. Laundry at times goes astray but the staff will always track down missing clothing. Stimulation and activities are very well thought out to suit the resident's abilities. The social gatherings and entertainment which all residents and visitors plus staff join in whether it be bingo or dancing. Any issues with minor faults, hanging pictures etc the maintenance staff deal with. Any issues the manager's door is always open.

My father and I attended a company cafe today at Orchard House. It was extremely helpful. I got lots of information about local groups in the area. It gave my elderly father a chance to meet people from the community. After lots of chatting, tea and cake I came away with lots of ideas for Dad. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They have a good understanding of the bereavement my father is experiencing after losing Mum who was a resident for several years and are continuing to support us as a family. I can not praise the staff at this home enough. They are truly part of our lives now and will continue to be so. The care they gave my mum was second to none. A wonderful place for your loved one to be. Thank you. You are all angels.

Care of my mum has been excellent, staff friendly and kind. Mum has only been in Orchard House a few months, but all staff have gone out of their way to make it feel like home and encouraged her to join in social activities. Mum led a very independent life before breaking hip, and we worried that she would struggle to settle, but this has not been the case. We, her family, are sure this is down to the care and consideration of all staff.

I can not say a bad word about Orchard House Care Home. I am a relative to a resident who has been at the home for over a year. The care they provide is exceptional and very clean, and the staff are amazing. Our nan is very happy here, and we wouldn’t want her to be anywhere else. There’s always something on for the residents and their families, and everyone is included.

Sarah WatsonJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2010

I have worked in the care sector for more than 20 years and joined Orchard House in 2010. Since then, I have progressed through a number of roles, beginning as a Carer and working my way up to become General Manager.

I am passionate about supporting residents and their loved ones, ensuring each person receives compassionate, person-centred care that reflects their individual needs, choices and preferences. I am equally committed to creating a positive and supportive culture where residents and team members can thrive.

It is a privilege to lead the exceptional team at Orchard House, and I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together. Our dedication to providing high-quality care has been recognised through success at the Great British Care Awards and, most recently, Orchard House being named Team of the Year at the Fenland Business Awards 2026.

These achievements reflect the compassion, commitment and teamwork shown by everyone at Orchard House each day. Together, we work to ensure Orchard House remains a warm, welcoming place where residents feel safe, valued and truly at home.

I am passionate about ensuring every resident receives high-quality care and is always treated with dignity, kindness and respect. I truly love my role and feel proud to be part of such a close-knit team.

Honey Berry
Honey BerryJob Title:Dementia Ambassador

I am Honey Berry, Dementia Ambassador at Orchard House Care Home in Wisbech. I began my career in care at the age of 18 and have more than 11 years’ experience supporting people living with dementia and their families.

My passion for dementia care is deeply personal. It began when I helped support my Nanny after she became unwell and grew stronger when my other Nanny was diagnosed with dementia. Experiencing her journey as a family member, particularly during the pandemic, gave me a deeper understanding of the fear, uncertainty and heartache dementia can bring.

As Dementia Ambassador, I combine professional knowledge with personal experience to support residents, families and colleagues at Orchard House. I champion person-centred dementia care by helping the team understand each resident’s history, preferences, routines and individual ways of communicating.

Whether connection comes through music, reminiscence, a familiar activity or a quiet moment together, my priority is to ensure every resident feels safe, valued and recognised as the person they have always been.

I also support families throughout their loved one’s dementia journey by listening without judgement, offering practical guidance and reassurance, and helping them remain involved in decisions about their loved one’s care.

My work has received regional and national recognition, including winning East of England awards for Dementia Carer, Care Assessor and Palliative/End of Life Care. I have also received national finalist and Highly Commended recognition and was invited to join the Dementia Care Awards judging panel for the Creative Nutrition Award.
