Can't praise the staff enough - such a welcoming home. The staff are always friendly and approachable. They keep us informed about Mum and quickly sort out any issues. Mum has received excellent care, and the staff are so good with her. We are so happy that she is settled and treated as part of a big family. Mum has been encouraged to join in the great activities offered.

The staff here are amazing, they look after Mum so well even when her dementia makes her behaviour challenging. They treat her with care, dignity and compassion.

We could not be happier with the care she receives.

When I last visited Mum, she was very agitated. The staff helped to calm her down and also comforted me.
The staff go above and beyond with all of the residents.
Mum has been in Orchard House for nearly 18 months, and in that time, we have never had any concerns regarding Mum.

Mum is treated with love and dignity, and the home honestly feels like family.

My dad went to Orchard House in December 2022. He has received fantastic care from all the staff looking after him. The staff a really caring and always treats the residents with respect and dignity at all times. The staff are always happy to help and always keep me informed about my dad. They are always polite. My dad has received the best care in Orchard House and is happy and content. Well done to a great team.

I am very happy with the care staff at Orchard House. The team are friendly and supportive toward both my mum and my family. The activities team always works very hard to offer entertainment inside and outside of the home.

The lift needs repairing - its constant breakdowns make it difficult to take Mum out or to activities.

Reply from Sarah Watson, General Manager at Orchard House Care Home

Thank you for your lovely comments, I will pass onto the team. We have had the lift repaired so hopefully this has resolve any further complications.

Absolutely blown away by the entrance hall display.
Decorated pumpkin shapes and specially collected bottles with spooky contents and seasonal labels were all completed by residents.
As always, the activities and displays/environment reflect the diverse and stimulating creativity of the hardworking, imaginative staff.

Well done. Orchard House, once again!

Mum recently celebrated her 98th birthday. We planned a small celebration but were surprised, when we asked, just how many of her friends wanted to come and join in. The manager and the staff were excellent and helpful in providing a party at short notice, with a nice tea and a birthday cake laid on.

It helped make a special day for Mum and I would like to express our appreciation to all who helped out.

My mum came in for palliative care on a Friday, and from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. Nothing was any trouble. The staff were so thoughtful, respectful and caring.

Myself and my brother spent as much time with my mum as we could, and it was so nice to be able to relax and feel comfortable during such an emotional time. We were given space just to "be", but knew if we needed anything, staff were there to help us as well as Mum.

Sarah Watson
Sarah WatsonJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2010

I have worked in the care sector for more than 20 years and joined Orchard House in 2010. Since then, I have progressed through a number of roles, beginning as a Carer and working my way up to become General Manager.

I am passionate about supporting residents and their loved ones, ensuring each person receives compassionate, person-centred care that reflects their individual needs, choices and preferences. I am equally committed to creating a positive and supportive culture where residents and team members can thrive.

It is a privilege to lead the exceptional team at Orchard House, and I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together. Our dedication to providing high-quality care has been recognised through success at the Great British Care Awards and, most recently, Orchard House being named Team of the Year at the Fenland Business Awards 2026.

These achievements reflect the compassion, commitment and teamwork shown by everyone at Orchard House each day. Together, we work to ensure Orchard House remains a warm, welcoming place where residents feel safe, valued and truly at home.

I am a dedicated nurse with 16 years of healthcare experience and have proudly worked at Orchard House for the past 14 years. For the last four years, I have had the privilege of supporting residents, families and our care team as Deputy Manager.

I am passionate about ensuring every resident receives high-quality care and is always treated with dignity, kindness and respect. I truly love my role and feel proud to be part of such a close-knit team.

In 2025, I was honoured to be named a finalist for the Frontline Leader Award at the Great British Care Awards, recognising my commitment to the residents and team at Orchard House.

Honey Berry
Honey BerryJob Title:Dementia Ambassador

I am Honey Berry, Dementia Ambassador at Orchard House Care Home in Wisbech. I began my career in care at the age of 18 and have more than 11 years’ experience supporting people living with dementia and their families.

My passion for dementia care is deeply personal. It began when I helped support my Nanny after she became unwell and grew stronger when my other Nanny was diagnosed with dementia. Experiencing her journey as a family member, particularly during the pandemic, gave me a deeper understanding of the fear, uncertainty and heartache dementia can bring.

As Dementia Ambassador, I combine professional knowledge with personal experience to support residents, families and colleagues at Orchard House. I champion person-centred dementia care by helping the team understand each resident’s history, preferences, routines and individual ways of communicating.

Whether connection comes through music, reminiscence, a familiar activity or a quiet moment together, my priority is to ensure every resident feels safe, valued and recognised as the person they have always been.

I also support families throughout their loved one’s dementia journey by listening without judgement, offering practical guidance and reassurance, and helping them remain involved in decisions about their loved one’s care.

My work has received regional and national recognition, including winning East of England awards for Dementia Carer, Care Assessor and Palliative/End of Life Care. I have also received national finalist and Highly Commended recognition and was invited to join the Dementia Care Awards judging panel for the Creative Nutrition Award.
