All the carers (day and night staff) are exceptionally conscientious in their roles. The kitchen staff provide tasty and nourishing meals with plenty of variety. The unit manager is efficient and very personable. The therapists know their end users well and cater for their needs whilst encouraging engagement
and they get good results. My husband has made very good progress.
Reply from Abigail Draper, Customer Relations Team at Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI CentreThank you for your thoughtful review. We're so pleased to hear about the progress your husband has made and that the care, therapy, and support from the whole team have made such a positive difference. Your kind words about the carers, kitchen team, and unit manager will be greatly appreciated by everyone involved.

Mum has been here for 6 months the level of care she receives from all the staff is excellent they treat her with kindness and consideration and nothing is too much trouble. They make me feel welcome when i visit and always have time to discuss any concerns i have about her. The entertainment team work
so hard to engage the residents in everything they do their energy and enthusiasm is excellent. I saw a few homes in my search but this one felt perfect. As mum says they are all lovely here im very lucky to be here.

Since visiting Manton Heights more frequently the past few months due to personal circumstances, I have witnessed a positive transformation with new management and a height end variety of activities and excellent care. Meals seem to have improved and relations are good between staff and relatives. It's
been a pleasure getting to know other residents and their families in Maulden in particular!

The caring, kindness of the staff here has helped Mum settle much more quickly than we expected. They have got to know her very well and are very quick to sense if anything is making her anxious. Staff always act quickly to make sure she gets what she needs, whether that's helping to find lost property
or calling an ambulance. Thank you.

My husband came into Manton Heights ABI Unit in March 2025 after suffering a stroke in January. From the moment he came in, the staff could not have been any better, they were always kind to both my husband and I, and despite what must be a challenging job they were always upbeat and encouraging, nothing
ever seemed to be too much for them. The physios, OT and therapists are all very helpful and kept us up to date with progress throughout his stay.
The food provided was plentiful and varied and it was great to see so many home cooked dishes, cakes, trifles etc of a high quality and they catered for my somewhat fussy husband!
He made such good progress whilst in the home and I am glad to be in such a good position on his return home.
Thank you to everyone on the team.

My mother was fortunate to have been offered a place at the ABI Unit following a stroke in March 2025. The care and encouragement she received during her stay was excellent, as a family we couldn't have asked for more. Mum's age was against her and she was unable to participate fully in the program
but the staff did all they could to encourage her rehabilitation for which we were very grateful.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.647)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.647) out of 10 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.647 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is calculated as follows: ( (418 Excellents x 5) + (136 Goods x 4) + (30 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 587 Ratings = 4.647
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 registered maximum number of service users is 18.2, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
