With dementia nothing prepares you for the highs and lows of this devastating illness, whatever you do, you hope that for that moment the sufferer has happiness, as a minute later it is forgotten. Therefore to have witnessed the care and devotion given by Manton Heights and know they could be relied
upon in their efforts to keep her safe and comfortable, was reassuring. The staff should know they did make a huge difference

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother was a resident in the above home for three years and in that time she was extremely happy there and myself personally was very satisfied with the care she received during that time. The management were always available if you had any issues and the staff, down to the kitchen, laundry and cleaning
staff were superb. There were regular relative meetings with management. The activities team has grown over the years and so some splendid work with the residents who wish to participate. The home is spotlessly clean and well furnished and the kitchen staff go out of their way to accommodate the special dietary needs of some of the residents. Yes, some carers were average and have time off at the drop of a hat but that is the nature of the profession I guess. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to others. Thank you.

Exemplary care in peaceful, clean surroundings. The staff show dedication and treat the residents very much as valued individuals.
The food menu is varied, tasty and nutritious, and enjoyed by the residents; specific dietary requirements are catered.
The administrative support is efficient and communicative;
the staff do exactly what they undertake to do - all with a smile.
Visiting times are unrestricted; it's possible to go in any time over 24 hours which is comforting for the relatives.

Superb, sensitive, all round care where the needs of the individual are met and surpassed.

My Grandmother has been at the home for three years. Having previously lived on her own in a high rise flat. Now at the grand old age of 97 and counting, enjoys her time. She loves the social side and the help she now gets from the very forthcoming staff. She is partially sighted and also hard of hearing
and no longer struggles like she did when she was on her own. We do enjoy seeing her when we visit looking very comfortable in her very comfortable room and realised her time in the flat was one of which should have been a sooner rather than later situation in leaving it. It is always nice to receive a warm welcome from everyone when we visit.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.647) out of 10 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.647 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is calculated as follows: ( (418 Excellents x 5) + (136 Goods x 4) + (30 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 587 Ratings = 4.647
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 registered maximum number of service users is 18.2, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
