Me and my family had a lovely and very welcoming time at Manton heights care centre just yesterday (Easter day).
We went to visit my nan of which she looked very well sat at the dining room table with my sister.
The staff were very welcoming to me and my family, and looked happy with the job roles
they played.
The fact that nan said she really liked the place means a lot especially as if she didn't like something, she'd speak up.
On the way out, The members of staff were also very kind enough to treat my children to spare Easter eggs from a party they had the day before. My children were very happy.
Reply from Vera Moreira, General Manager at Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI CentreThank you so much for your lovely message. We're delighted to hear that you and your family had such a positive and welcoming experience at Manton Heights Care Centre. It's wonderful to know your nan is looking well and enjoying her time here-especially since, as you said, she's not one to hold back! We're also so pleased your children had a special moment with the Easter eggs-our team truly enjoys making these little gestures that brighten everyone's day. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we look forward to welcoming you all again soon.

My sister has been a resident in the dementia maulden unit since 25th January so still early days. She seems to have settled reasonably well. Our experience has been a positive one, see tick boxes below, however constant changes in staff & management have been disconcerning but hopefully this will now
settle down. I have been particularly impressed with the level & amount of activities laid on for all the residents & the one to one support shown to my sister since her arrival.
Reply from Abigail Draper, Customer Relations Team at Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI CentreThank you for your thoughtful review. We're so pleased to hear that your sister is settling in well and that the activities and one-to-one support have made a positive impact - it really means a lot to the team. We completely understand your concerns about previous changes in staff and management. We're happy to share that Manton Heights now has a strong and stable leadership team in place, committed to providing consistent, high-quality care. Thank you again for your kind words and trust in us during these early days.

My father was in this care home from February 2024 until February 2025 when he sadly passed away. We have always been impressed with the original care staff however in the year of my dad was there, there have been three different managers. We found each swap over they never introduce themselves and
have become more and more unfriendly. It is such a shame that management lets down this home. The activity team work really hard and are always keeping the residents busy and have outside activities coming in and as I say the original caring staff have been amazing. However, since Christmas and the new manager everything seems to have changed, they have swapped the staff about. And we haven't been consulted about it with our father being ill and having dementia it was such a shame to have some staff he didn't recognise.
If you do go to this Home, please look into the pricing as we were being charged £200 a week more than another resident and £100 more than another!
Reply from Vera Moreira, General Manager at Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI CentreThank you for your comments about the care your father received we will certainly pass on your kind words to the team and we appreciate your comments about the activities team. I am sorry we haven't introduced the managers to the families in a more effective way we will certainly take that on board and address it in the future. In relations to fees many of our residents are on different rates as they all need different levels of care and support and we conduct assessments to identify appropriate levels of fees, I hope that explains the situation but if you did want to discuss anything further then please call me at the home. Best Wishes, Vera Moreira

Carers always greet us by name which is personal to us. They actively ask us to stay for a meal. They call to check if care plan is satisfactory. Regular activities for entertainment and stimulation. My mum feels cared for and thinks the staff are kind and caring to her.

My Dad came to the ABI unit at Manton Heights Care Centre, Bedford from Luton hospital after suffering a stroke. The care that he received was outstanding by all the staff. The staff were very welcoming when we visited and kept us up-to-date with Dad's progress. We also noticed that the unit had a high
standard of cleanliness throughout. All the food was fresh on the day with a good selection.
Also, we felt with our many visits we had made new friends with the staff.
A big heartfelt thank you to all.

I can't thank Manton Heights ABI Unit enough for the fantastic care and support provided to my mum and our family during her time there. Mum's stroke left her particularly vulnerable and from the moment she arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness and compassion, we immediately knew she was going
to be in safe hands.
Mum was at the unit for a number of months with every member of the team always going above and beyond to make sure Mum felt comfortable, supported and well cared for in her recovery. I am forever grateful and would like to thank all the hard-working care, therapy, management, catering and supporting staff for looking after her so well and always going the extra mile.
You truly are a wonderful, lovely and amazing bunch, and the best rehabilitation unit we could have hoped for with excellent facilities, I couldn't have asked for more. It felt like family and we will miss you. Thank you again for all you have done and for your kindness and dedication throughout.

part in activities, as usual, all the staff were lovely, I was offered tea and biscuits and even lunch, I couldn't fault anything!

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.647)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.647) out of 10 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.647 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is calculated as follows: ( (417 Excellents x 5) + (136 Goods x 4) + (30 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 586 Ratings = 4.647
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 registered maximum number of service users is 18.2, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
