View Full Details of Tallis HouseMy father has been living in Tallis House for a year,im am very happy with the care he is given-the staff are lovely and friendly, they've always been helpful. When there was an issue caused by an outside factors ie a prescription, this was addressed and sorted straight away.My Father fell over in his room a few months ago, again this was handled professionally as they informed me straight away and updated me while they waited for the ambulance.I will always be very grateful to the staff there,I only get to visit my father a few times each year ,knowing he is receiving this first class care takes a lot of worry away.
My mum has been a resident at Tallis House for about 18 months. When mum first arrived at Tallis House I was unsure about how she would settle in. However, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming and so this helped ease the worry. All the staff are professional and speak and treat my mum with dignity and respect. The Wellbeing team provide a wide variety of activities including baking, arts and crafts, gardening, cinema evenings and bingo. They also have days out to various places such as the seaside, garden centres, bowling to name a few. The residents are always encouraged to take part in the various activities. A hairdresser visits once a week. Tallis House has an open door policy so I can visit any day and any time. My mum has settled in and I am very happy with the care she is receiving. I would recommend.
Can't fault Tallis House Everyone friendly & helpful and I feel confident that Mum is being well cared for. It's always very clean and the manager has an open door policy and is always ready to listen to any concerns
I feel that they cater for the residents needs in a respectful way. If there are problems I know I can approach them and it is dealt with asap. Medication is given with the correct procedure as in making sure they take them. If alarms go off they are there straight away to deal with it. My relative who resides there can be awkward at times but the staff make them feel comfortable and also try to get them to interact with others. The only negative part is there needs to be another couple of staff on ground floor to help in the really needy times ie. Straight after tea times when there are lots of personal needs. My relative is happy and that's good as we thought that they would never get used to being in a home. Well done team Tallis x
I can't praise this care home highly enough. From the very beginning, the communication has been excellent - I'm always kept informed and any emails are replied to quickly, which really gives me peace of mind. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely caring, which makes it such a lovely place to be. What really stands out is the range of activities they offer for the residents - it's wonderful to see how much is being done to keep everyone engaged and happy. My mum is so well looked after, and I couldn't be more pleased that she is here. A huge thank you to all the team for the amazing work you do.
So good with the care of my mum, Especially the entertainment, both girls work so hard to keep the residents happy. I feel safe knowing my mum is been taken care of. Her medication is always taken care of properly. They have gotten to know her ways and personalilty and accomodate this always.
I am very satisfied with the care that my husband receives at Tallis House. All the care staff appear kind and respectful. I know that my husband is receiving the best care support possible. Also, the care home seems to be aware of the importance of social activities to most residents.
Mum has been in Tallis House for just over a year now. She is well looked after, always clean and the staff are very attentive. She enjoys taking part in some of the activities i.e. cake making, etc.
My Mum is very happy at Tallis House. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that residents get the best care every day. There are so many activities organised and special parties and events arranged so that all the family can join in. We couldn't wish for more.
My mum had been living in Tallis House since June 2024. It was a big decision for all the family but one that we are glad we made. She was cared for so well, always had plenty to eat and drink and was clean and well presented. The staff are lovely and mum was very happy. Even when she ended up being cared for in bed, she was treated with great care and dignity - She passed away in her bed peacefully. Thank you Tallis House.
My mother has been at Tallis House since September last year (2024). My Mum's dementia got worse after another stroke she had and she was struggling day to day with her memory which meant she was vulnerable and at risk at home. Since she moved to Tallis House she has settled in really well and quite quickly. All the staff have been so helpful and have been so nice to my Mum which helped her settle in and feel comfortable and she couldn't be happier here, seeing her smile again and laugh and enjoying her life stress-free is the icing on the cake. They organise lots of activities and Mum really enjoys these and has made friends with both residents and staff, she enjoys the food and the trips out and I enjoy spending time at Tallis with her as well. I wanted to say a massive thanks to all the staff you do an amazing job and I am so grateful as my Mum means the absolute world to me. Thank you.
It was with great hesitation that Dad had to have 24-hour care. Tallis House is most definitely the best care home for Dad's care needs. From the moment Dad arrived we were welcomed by a smiling face and a happy-to-help receptionist. I can honestly say that Tallis House has been the best decision I've made for my dad. The carers are welcoming and made him feel right at home with happy faces, caring nature, empathy, patience and understanding of all Dad's care needs. Constantly checking on Dad and making him tea. Dad loves the food, and I can bring Dad treats anytime for him. From receptionist, carers, management and the whole team on Dad's floor the care is outstanding. Nothing is too much for them. Tallis House is modern, bright, clean and welcoming and the dinners are freshly cooked on-site and Dad definitely enjoys them. I'm so pleased with the care my dad is receiving and continues to receive. I have no fears when I leave after visiting my dad because I know he's in excellent care.
Sadly my mother passed away last night at the age of 95. However, I wanted to say how massively grateful I am, and have been for the past 3.5 years, to all of the staff at Tallis House for the way they took care of her during her time there. She came to the home after a bad experience in a previous care home, she was active and able to look after herself but had become vulnerable due to falling quite a lot in her own home and it was time to be somewhere with 24/7 care. During her first 2.5 years she was extremely happy with both the social activities and friends she made in the home and loved all the staff, sadly as Alzheimer's progressed she was in need of more care but the care team quickly identified the best support and provided me with frequent updates and recommendations. During the last few months of her life and especially the last two weeks, the care given by the team cannot be faulted. a most sincere thank you to all of the staff.
My wife has been at Tallis House since April 2024 after looking at alternative sites and I am happy to say that we made the right choice. I have always found all the staff very helpful, caring and supportive giving me peace of mind. The medicine, food and cleanliness support has been very good and I am particularly pleased with the activities that the residents are given and that they are encouraged to join in. Thanks to everyone there.
Tallis House is an amazing place and my Nan is very happy at Tallis House. All the staff are amazing and very attentive towards my Nan and from what I see other residents. Thank you for what all the staff do.
My children go to the primary school next door, they loved there weekly visits to see the residents or neighbours as they used to call them, to read and sing songs and we also had a family friend who was also a resident and I can honestly say all staff were always helpful and welcoming when we would visit.
My mother is quite settled within the home, and we are happy as a family for her to continue her stay there, she mainly stays in her own room (although she is encouraged to join in with activities but refuses). The caregivers seem kind and supportive to my mother's needs. My only two concerns are that her dietary needs are not always met and she is given foods which she is not allowed (she gets an upset tummy if given these) we have witnessed this as family members and have informed staff on a number of occasions. My second concern is that at times I have found medication on the floor or on her bed that she has not taken, this has again been mentioned to staff members. And have been told this would be recorded and looked into.
The staff are all lovely and caring. My Dad is taken out on regular trips which he loves doing. My Dad says the food is not great but it always looks OK to me although I have never tasted it. Hot and cold drinks are provided regularly throughout the day.
Beyond relieved that my mum is in such a caring and supportive environment with all staff giving 100% to make the residents lives enriched, safe and happy. They also go above and beyond to work with family offering great communication with families. The social media page is a great way of knowing what mums been upto and is very helpful when it comes to visiting her, we always have plenty to chat about. She seems to get out more than me these days!
First class service. Always ring and inform me of visits, doctors and trips. Cleanliness superb of resident and the home itself. Atmosphere friendly, staff always present and deal with you should you need this.
