View Full Details of Acacia LodgeEach time I visit Acacia Lodge, I am met with smiling faces on staff, no matter what level they are. The staff have time to communicate with residents and visitors, and the care provided is tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Lovely calm atmosphere, the food choices are good and well prepared and presented.
As a family, we carefully reviewed the three care homes in Henley. One proved too expensive, and the other two, Acacia Lodge, was a clear winner. The management and staff were well established and projected a warm and very caring ambience. My wife has enjoyed well appointed bedroom, and a sound array of facilities together with an admirably varied and tasty choice of food (far better than I was able to provide at home!).
I am very impresses with the care and compation that they give to client and family. They truely helped me through a very traumatic time having to put my husband in care as i could no longer health issues and body strength cope and do things for him. After 50 years of marriage this was and still is hard mentaly. One of the best things is i can go any time of day, as i only live 15 minutes walk away this is a godsend. Full marks to ALL STAFF from office to cleaners.
Kindness is the greatest gift that anyone can have. I moved into Acacia Lodge a week ago today, and the kindness I have received and am still receiving is heartwarming and quite wonderful. I'm in my nineties and have happily lived independently for over 50 years. I have crippling arthritis. Last Monday I fell on my back - the worst pain. Time to go into a care home. Acacia Lodge said that I could move in. I love my new forever home - the best ever.
Friend returned to the care home for palliative care after 3 weeks in hospital. She had been in the home for over 10 years. In three days of returning from the hospital to passing away, the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful, also, when returning to sort her room, was only met with help and kindness.
My mum is so happy and settled at Acacia Lodge since arriving a year ago. All the staff are fantastic and the levels of care, cleanliness, support and respect are excellent. It is so reassuring to know that your beloved family member is so well looked after.
Staff are always very caring and helpful nothing is too much for them even for the familys of the resident. Rooms are always very clean and so are the resident. There is always plenty of food and looks lovely.
Excellent care. All the staff are very attentive to his needs. I felt very comfortable leaving him at Acacia Lodge. I will definitely book him in again for respite care.
From the beginning, all worry and doubt about putting Mum in a care home evaporated when we saw the excellent level of care provided. She has been made to feel loved and respected at all times and everyone has gone above and beyond in ensuring her evolving needs have been met. The staff (all of them) are what makes Acacia Lodge so special. The atmosphere is very friendly and always cheerful. Communication with relatives has been excellent and very much appreciated by all of us.
I could not be more grateful for the care my Mum received from the wonderful staff at Acacia Lodge during the last year of her life. Everyone was so kind and considerate towards her. Communication with the family was excellent, particularly in the last weeks of her life.
Acacia Lodge has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The carers and nurses treat Mum with carers and nurses treat Mum with respect and dignity. The range of activities is impressive and Mum is always encouraged to join in.
The carers are very kind to my mum. She is happy and enjoys their company. There is often an activity or entertainment going on which they will always try and encourage her to join in with. Communication is good and we can always discuss our concerns with the carers who will always take time to listen and offer advice.
We chose this home because the staff have been so kind and genuine during our meetings that we are confident they will give excellent care. They helped to make Mum feel at home and allowed us to bring lots of her things. Thank you.
Mother had a lovely birthday in June with cards and presents and a birthday cake in the afternoon with candles brought in by the staff singing Happy Birthday. The staff could not be more helpful when you visit.
My wife is happy and content in Acacia Lodge. The staff are kind to her and she is always well dressed. She has a lovely bright room and the home is well decorated. When I visit every day, all the staff are extremely helpful, kind and thoughtful towards me and we have fun.
Wonderful care is provided by a consistent team, who understand Mum’s needs. Recently redecorated which makes the home feel fresh. Would recommend it to other families, who are looking for care for a relative with dementia.
My mum has been in Acacia Lodge for a few years now. She is happy when we visit and the staff are lovely. There always seems to be some kind of activity going on that she can join in with, and they quite often post photos on social media, which we are able to see.
The staff at Acacia continue to look after Mum well even though she has been very poorly, getting her up when they can and otherwise looking after her in bed. The staff are kind and caring and keep us informed when we visit and, if necessary, between visits by telephone.
I simply wanted my mother to have care and be treated with respect but I got so much more. At Acacia Lodge staff understand that elderly residents are individuals, had full lives and need patience to help them adjust to being reliant on others now. My mother has seen the doctor, nurses, chiropodist, hairdresser, visually impaired coordinator, has had checkups, plays scrabble and bingo plus more and uses the minibus. Acacia Lodge is well run and staff are held accountable. Mum is not shut away in her room. Doors are open, staff are visible, a cleaner is always around; it is a sociable floor. Nothing seems too much trouble when you ask at reception.
I have a good relationship with the staff at Acacia Lodge. My relative is well cared for and any concerns I have expressed have been dealt with promptly. On my relative's birthday, I was invited to attend the care home and have lunch with her. It was a lovely experience, made more special as the staff had made sure my relative's Christmas tablecloth was in place on our table. She recently had her vision tested by a dementia-friendly visiting Optician company. The service was excellent however it did take a long while to arrange, despite being told her name was on a waiting list. Generally, I am very pleased with the care my relative receives.
