View Full Details of Dalton Court Care HomeDear Dalton Court, May I express my thanks and appreciation to your team. I was up for a long weekend in Cockermouth and saw my farther, Arthur Field, 4 times. It was great to sit and chat to him over a cup of tea. Although now confined to a wheelchair and limited speech, he was otherwise in good shape and I would like to show my appreciation of the work your team do. Whilst in the lounge with him, it was clear to see the care, support and assistance to all residents the staff give. Their attention to detail and guidance is all delivered in a friendly and positive, upbeat many. Please could you share my thoughts with your team; from the friendly office staff, to the nurses and carers; a big thank you! Kind regards, Andrew and the family.
My Dad was admitted to Dalton Court in July 25 he has Vascular Dementia and Parkinsons. The care he receives is very good and he seems settled now. The staff are very good and see to all his personal needs. They are also very good with us when we visit. Review from Heather ( Daughter of Resident)
My husband had had a serious fall resulting in a fractured hip. After care at the hospital he was transferred to Dalton Court The staff were welcoming warm friendly but very professional They sorted the right care package for my husband and a very pleasant room..Well equipped and comfortable with en suite bathroom
My mother i feel is very well taken care of at Dalton Court. She is bathed every day and is always well dressed and eats very well.I am very happy with her over all care.My mother's room is always clean and her clothes too.She gets a lot of care from the carers and she gets her medications promptly. Her emotional needs are also well taken care of,the home often has many different activities in which my mother often takes part in.Dalton court is very professional and the staff are exemplary.Very happy with my mother's overall care.
I don't have any concerns so far with the care my father has received since moving in. My only concern at the moment is that the heater hasn't worked in his room since he moved in in December 2023, and feel the portable heater plugged in in his room is a health and safety hazard, it's hot to touch and he could fall over it. This has been mentioned before. Room 27.
My partner was admitted there he was only 64.. nowhere else for him to go.. I had to shower him everytime I went.. (cause he refused)they are supposed to be specialised for dementia he was left walking about with residents with his boxer shorts on no shoes or socks! Police were called 3 times.. he was handcuffed.. as a result off this he was sectioned! Dont go there.. no duty off care
My wife was admitted to Dalton Court Care Home in March 24. Daphne had lost all mobility and found it difficult to communicate. All staff treated Daphne with love and kindness, with care and compassion. Whenever we visited we always received a friendly greeting. Staff were willing and able to inform us of Daphne's condition and they extended the same kindness to ourselves. My wife died on 29th June and the nurses have my grateful thanks for giving me time to say goodbye before they carried out their professional duties. I have no hesitation in recommending Dalton Court to any potential patients.
My husband had a very very bad experience in the home before he was transferred to this one which caused him to be neglected and made his dementia more rapid in progress. Obviously, this caused me and my family a lot of stress and worry. So Dalton Court has made up for a horrendous experience and is caring and professional. Can't praise and thank them enough. Thank you. Wonderful, Dalton Court staff.
Excellent care given to my husband and our family when we visited. We were made to feel at home and could see how he kept comfortable and kept his dignity till the end of his life.
All staff - nursing, carers, admin and housekeeping staff - work hard to provide a caring, safe environment for their residents. They are keen to improve the service if possible.
Just glad she's in this home and looked after. It's the tops, she is settled and just as she can't talk she seems settled in with a group of good carers.
Care of Dad has been excellent. The family has been looked after with the same care and kindness. Nothing has been too much trouble. Dad has been checked regularly, his personal care has been great and carried out with sensitivity and dignity. All the staff have been wonderful. I can't thank the staff enough. The family has been informed of any changes to Dad's condition and we've been able to be here and ask anything; being kept informed. The staff have kept our spirits up at a really difficult time.
I'm so relieved and impressed by the good-humoured patience of almost every staff member, from housekeeping to nursing and their concern to acknowledge individual personalities and needs. My husband's personal name is always used and references to his past life are understood. He is never pressurised to do things, if he is in a mood to resist; a smiling face and gentle encouragement achieves wonders. After almost 9 months, my heart is still warmed by the affectionate atmosphere created by the staff and the attractive environment. Would there be more staff, and thereby even more proactive one to one interaction.
I was very reluctant at first to use Dalton Court Care Home. I was wrong in my initial assessment. It has proven to be an excellent choice of care for my wife.
During my brothers stay at Dalton Court I am pleased and delighted to report that the care and accommodation that he has received to be exemplary. The facilities provided are excellent and the communal lounge and family visiting rooms are always spotless, tidy and inviting. The garden is well kept and offers a relaxed atmosphere where patients and visitors are able to enjoy the fresh air together. The menu provided offers a range of choices and the food always looks appetising and well prepared. Above all, the courtesy afforded by all members of the staff, ranging from the management, nurses and care assistants is absolutely first class
My father was a resident of Dalton Court for 10 months before he died on the 3rd of September 2016. During his residency, he was well cared for by friendly, caring staff in a very pleasant, clean room with a lovely view. Management and staff were approachable and incredibly professional. During my father's end of life care my husband and I virtually moved into the home for 3 nights/4 days and apart from being looked after ourselves - food and drink etc - we witnessed first hand the exceptional care and medical care he received during his last days which was a great comfort. The family feel that Dalton Court and all it's staff should be recognised for the outstanding care provided for my father.
My father was resident at Dalton Court Care Home from May 2015 until he passed away in August 2016. The care he received from the staff was excellent. He could at times be difficult to deal with as he had zero patience and my late mother spoiled him by giving him his own way. Staff at Dalton Court Care Home won him over and he would say himself how wonderful they all were. In his later months, he needed nursing care and Dalton Court Care Home were able to provide this. We could not have looked after him at home or given him the care they did. Excellent.
. Staff great. . Rooms like a hotel.
I find Dalton Court has excellent staff and that my father couldn't be looked after better. Also the person on the front desk is always so cheerful.
Very happy.
