View Full Details of Ty Penrhos Care HomeThe staff are always pleasant and courteous, and genuinely know each resident with comments on how they are doing and what they have been doing recently. The home is always clean and well presented with no bad smells or odours.
Staff are very good, easily approachable.
Excellent care given by staff to my dad. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Food times do vary slightly, so often sat waiting for food. Food isn't cut up for my dad who can have large pieces of meat he can't cut/eat. Staff are friendly + helpful. Level of frustration when my dad doesn't have his socks put on despite numerous request on balance though very good.
My mother has been at Ty-Penrhos since December 2021 and sadly, in February this year, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. It was in my mum's best interest to keep her in the care home for a number of reasons but not least because she would have been incredibly distressed by the admission to a hospital. My mother also has dementia but Ty Penrhos and some of the regular staff at Daffodil Rise Unit are still familiar to her. I cannot praise them enough for their dedication, compassion and the outstanding care they have given to my mother and for the communication and support I've also received. The Managers, carers and palliative nurses at Daffodil Rise are the 'unsung heroes' who often go above and beyond what is expected of them and I hope this is recognised and they know how much they are appreciated.
We have nothing but praise for the care the staff gave Mam whilst she was with you on the Caerphilly unit. They really went above and beyond. Mams care was complex but nothing was too much trouble for them. They strived to make sure Mam was comfortable and they took time to make sure all of her needs were catered for. They gave her hugs and held her hand when she was upset and when Mam was having a good day they would sing and dance with her. When it came to Mams last days they were there for us too providing not only food and drink but hugs and kind words. They really are the best and we would like them to receive this feedback from us. We really can't thank them enough.
My wife has settled in at Ty Penrhos very well and the staff and management has been just brilliant with her and we as a family are very happy the way the care home is run.
My mum seems to have settled well and her care is exceptional. I feel she has gained her dignity back and she now feels safe and contented. The atmosphere is always calm and peaceful and the staff always have time to talk about any concerns.
Excellent care on Daffodil Rise. No worries or concerns about my wife since she has been in their care. So happy she is with them . Staff are compassionate and understand dementia / alzeheimers. They have supported me and my family.
My mother is on daffodil rise, the care is excellent , staff are compassionate they fully understand dementia / Alzheimer's. Since my mum has been there she has put on weight , more aware, looking so much better I can't thank the home enough.
I'm happy with the care my Nan is receiving, she seems happy in the care home and likes the carers around her. Always lots of activities going on for the residents to take part in and a different variety of foods throughout the week for them to eat.
Ty Penrhos stood out when I was looking for a place for my mum. She has been a resident since Sept 2023 and it proved to be the best place for her. The staff show care and kindness and understand her frustrations due to her Alzheimer's. The whole place is always clean and has a pleasant calm atmosphere. When she moved from residential to nursing the staff went out of their way to make it as easy as possible. They arrange lots of activities which the residents all seem to enjoy. I can't praise them enough.
Always a good atmosphere at the home. Staff are always very good. Very helpful with me, always giving me updates on my mother and just explaining to me how she has been doing.
Visiting Mountain View, the unit seemed calm and peaceful and all the staff were friendly and busy doing various tasks. One lady in particular, always goes out of her way to say hello and chat. Which is lovely when visiting. It makes you feel like a friend is caring for your family member. Another lady also made a concerted effort to say hello and chat. She spoke passionately about the morning's activity session and a recent course she had been on. It was lovely to hear someone speak so positively about their role. I also experienced her interacting with other residents, she showed great care and consideration even though I could see she was extremely busy. The smallest thing which really left an impression was that she made a point of sitting in a different spot so all residents could chat and see her. Mountain View has always been a lovely community. The unit felt full of love and care, and it was a pleasure to visit.
My mother has been in this care home since August 2023. She has received very good care. She has been prescribed medication which has had a positive effect. I always feel welcome at the home and able to express any concerns to management. I do feel staff are under pressure and this is sometimes evident.
Amazing facility, staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful. Mum has settled in here so well, nothing is too much trouble for these guys. Mum is happy, well cared for and happy. I would recommend Ty Penrhos and Daffodil Ward to anyone. The Manager and the team are amazing with mum and with ourselves.
Dad is well cared for in Ty Penrhos Care Home by caring staff. The quality of food however is a concern. Dad is not receiving a balanced diet. Fruit and vegetables do not appear to be a consideration in the meal planning.
Overall, satisfied and the staff are very friendly and helpful. However, food needs an urgent review e.g. a lack of fruit and vegetables and/or choice of meals. Meals are often repeated and do not look appetising e.g. mashed potatoes covered in tinned tomatoes (tea).
I visit my friend on Mountain View regularly and the staff are always kind and welcoming. He is being cared for so well and looks really happy. He looked so poorly before coming into the home and I never thought he would ever look this good again. He has even started speaking to the staff, that shows he feels comfortable with them.
Great home. Clean and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble from all of the staff. Great care given and attentive to detail. Alway keeping updated on activities that they have done. Staff caring and friendly.
My mother-in-law has been a resident for over a year at Ty Penrhos Care Home. The staff have been flexible and helpful at all times and have made the transition as easy as it can possibly be. We are grateful that she is being looked after in the best environment possible for her.
