View Full Details of Nelson Manor Care CentreFrom the first telephone call, to visiting and subsequently my Dad transfering from hospital to Nelson Manor, as a family we were shown nothing but kindness, professionalism and care that went way beyond our expectations. The management team are superb and this transfers to the staff. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The residents are clearly happy. We are so grateful to you all for making our Dad's time with you as comfortable and dignified as possible. Nelson Manor is a very special place.
My mum feels safe here and on the whole the nursing home is good. However, the activities, I feel is the weakest point of this home. Most of my mum's interactions are through family and friends visits. My mum loves to craft but in the 6 months she has been in the home, she has done no craft.
Nelson Manor has a very homely, happy atmosphere as soon as you enter the building. All the staff are very caring and friendly, not just to residents but to relatives as well. It is spotlessly clean and the food is lovely, very well presented and appealing. Grateful thanks to everyone.
From our first visit to have a look around the home to the management staff overseeing my mother's arrival from a previous care home it's been first class. There has been a remarkable change in my mother's health and wellbeing which the staff and facilities have had a big influence on. After my mother's accident we all had reservations on whether she would ever return home but with the care and physiotherapy she's received in the last month we are extremely optimistic that she will return home before to long. Thank you to all the staff at Nelson Manor
My friend was made welcome right from the first day. She has settled quickly and is content. I believe this is because of the care she has received from all the staff. She is well fed and her clothes are kept clean as well as her room. It is the staff however who make the difference, they do a difficult job with real concern, compassion, patience and plenty of fun. I always like to visit because I feel welcome. It seems a happy place to live and to work. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
Lovely staff, very caring and helpful. They keep us informed and updated on everything we need to know. Spotlessly clean, very professional and good management. Some fantastic entertainment especially singing the oldies, which mum loved and joined in.
When I visit I always find a good atmosphere. Staff engaging with the residents as much as they can when not doing paperwork. Management is always happy to stop what they are doing and listen to any concerns we might have and do their best to resolve any problems. The rooms are clean and mum has everything she needs.Food always looks good and plenty of it.
Lovely home. Clean, spacious, bright. I knew when I walked into the building that this was the place for my mum. It meet her personal needs. The staff are friendly They have various activities going on throughout the day. I know she is being cared for and safe in there.
Felt friendly as soon as we walked through the door. Great staff, they are all so passionate about their care for the residents. My mother in law has come on leaps and bounds since being in Nelson Manor.
Everything is excellent no complaints . Staff are excellent. The care is superb. I never have to question anything. Home really clean. Management are brilliant . Mum is very content there. It's because of the wonderful care
It was my 50th Birthday on Tuesday, this week and my mum is a resident at the care home & unfortunately she's not able to get out/or organise anything for my special Birthday. So therefore, I mentioned it to a member of staff at the care home and they said it would be okay for me to come upto Nelson Manor Care Home to have my lunch with my mum& they also organised an entertainer for the afternoon. I had truly fabulous day.
Excellent care. Nelson Manor is a very happy place all the staff are caring and helpful to the residents and visitors. Staff are always available when required to assist with any situation. The atmosphere of the home is definitely a Home.
My relative has been bed bound for the last 8 years, unfortunately and is unable to participate in activities and socialise. Recently she does not seem to be very happy and gets very confused. She used to enjoy the banter with the staff but now seems to be lonely. She also needs help with feeding and drinking.
Nelson Manor is a very professional place. Residents are well looked after and the staff are respectful and courteous. Rooms are well equipped and are kept clean and tidy at all times. The food is nutritious and prompt. The staff work hard for their residents. I only have 1 negative comment to make, some staff/bank staff have poor English, this at times makes communication difficult for residents seeking help.
Made me and family very welcome.
Nelson Manor has been a great help. They looked after my mum for several years and were excellent with providing her care - particularly as she was a difficult patient. More recently, they have been excellent at looking after my dad who has been at Nelson Manor care home for over a year. The rooms are spacious and clean with room for a wheel chair and space for guest chairs. The carers have always been great, they put on lots of fun activities and he's really enjoyed going out to the pub. The staff have also gone above and beyond and put on special dinners for him and his friends with white table cloths. The staff treat my dad with kindness and dignity. There are always multiple options of food throughout the day and a special meal can be requested if there isn't anything he would like. Having visited relatives in other care homes in the area I would rate Nelson Manor very highly and reccomended to anyone who needs help for their loved ones.
Great caring people, friendly welcoming environment. My mother has settled in well here and already sees it as her home. The home is well maintained, clean and warm, which is great for my mother. I feel comfortable that mother is being looked after and this puts my mind at ease during challenging times. The staff are all friendly and professional.
My aunt recently went into Nelson Manor the staff who work there are so lovely they have shown her so much kindness and respect from the housekeepers up to the Manager who is so down to earth and approachable. I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done and doing for my aunt.
I am currently writing this review whilst sitting visiting my friend. The care here is excellent and the staff can not do enough for their residents and visitors. Immaculate, clean and always nice. God Bless.
The care shown during Dad's time at Nelson Manor was wonderful. The staff were caring, professional and would go to any lengths to make sure Dad was comfortable and as content as possible in his final weeks. My sister and I were always made welcome and included in the process and decision-making. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nelson Manor. Lovely staff, lovely management, lovely care - thank you.
