Nelson Manor has a very homely, happy atmosphere as soon as you enter the building.
All the staff are very caring and friendly, not just to residents but to relatives as well.
It is spotlessly clean and the food is lovely, very well presented and appealing.

From our first visit to have a look around the home to the management staff overseeing my mother's arrival from a previous care home it's been first class.
There has been a remarkable change in my mother's health and wellbeing which the staff and facilities have had a big influence on.
After my mother's
accident we all had reservations on whether she would ever return home but with the care and physiotherapy she's received in the last month we are extremely optimistic that she will return home before to long.

My friend was made welcome right from the first day. She has settled quickly and is content. I believe this is because of the care she has received from all the staff. She is well fed and her clothes are kept clean as well as her room. It is the staff however who make the difference, they do
a difficult job with real concern, compassion, patience and plenty of fun.
I always like to visit because I feel welcome. It seems a happy place to live and to work. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

When I visit I always find a good atmosphere. Staff engaging with the residents as much as they can when not doing paperwork. Management is always happy to stop what they are doing and listen to any concerns we might have and do their best to resolve any problems.The rooms are clean and mum has everything

It was my 50th Birthday on Tuesday, this week and my mum is a resident at the care home & unfortunately she's not able to get out/or organise anything for my special Birthday.


So therefore, I mentioned it to a member of staff at the care home and they said it would be okay for me to come upto Nelson

Manor Care Home to have my lunch with my mum& they also organised an entertainer for the afternoon.

My relative has been bed bound for the last 8 years, unfortunately and is unable to participate in activities and socialise. Recently she does not seem to be very happy and gets very confused. Nelson Manor is a very professional place. Residents are well looked after and the staff are respectful and courteous. Rooms are well equipped and are kept clean and tidy at all times. The food is nutritious and prompt. The staff work hard for their residents. I only have 1 negative comment to make,
some staff/bank staff have poor English, this at times makes communication difficult for residents seeking help.

Nelson Manor has been a great help. They looked after my mum for several years and were excellent with providing her care - particularly as she was a difficult patient. More recently, they have been excellent at looking after my dad who has been at Nelson Manor care home for over a year. The rooms are
spacious and clean with room for a wheel chair and space for guest chairs. The carers have always been great, they put on lots of fun activities and he's really enjoyed going out to the pub. The staff have also gone above and beyond and put on special dinners for him and his friends with white table cloths. The staff treat my dad with kindness and dignity. There are always multiple options of food throughout the day and a special meal can be requested if there isn't anything he would like. Having visited relatives in other care homes in the area I would rate Nelson Manor very highly and reccomended to anyone who needs help for their loved ones.

Great caring people, friendly welcoming environment. My mother has settled in well here and already sees it as her home. The home is well maintained, clean and warm, which is great for my mother. My aunt recently went into Nelson Manor the staff who work there are so lovely they have shown her so much kindness and respect from the housekeepers up to the Manager who is so down to earth and approachable. I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done and doing for my aunt.

The care shown during Dad's time at Nelson Manor was wonderful. The staff were caring, professional and would go to any lengths to make sure Dad was comfortable and as content as possible in his final weeks. My sister and I were always made welcome and included in the process and decision-making. I

I visit my husband on average 5-6 days each week, and on every visit, I find the staff are always polite, friendly and professional at all times.
Staff are very caring towards my husband. They treat him with respect and dignity.
The facilities are excellent. They offer a good range of activities
and have a themed week every month with a singer. The food always appears to be appetising with a choice of food available.

I've reviewed Nelson Manor Care Centre previously and given full marks and nothing has changed. I believe my Dad would not be alive if hadn't had the care and compassion he's had for the last two years here. I visit five days a week and it's so very rare that I have to 'mention' something (eg his food
isn't cut up), every single employed carer (and nurse) shows complete empathy and kindness to all the residents. Pray that I never need a care home myself, but if I did, I would want it to be here. So very grateful to them all. Thank you so much.
