When I visit I always find a good atmosphere. Staff engaging with the residents as much as they can when not doing paperwork. Management is always happy to stop what they are doing and listen to any concerns we might have and do their best to resolve any problems. The rooms are clean and mum has everything she needs.Food always looks good and plenty of it.

It was my 50th Birthday on Tuesday, this week and my mum is a resident at the care home & unfortunately she's not able to get out/or organise anything for my special Birthday.

So therefore, I mentioned it to a member of staff at the care home and they said it would be okay for me to come upto Nelson Manor Care Home to have my lunch with my mum& they also organised an entertainer for the afternoon.

I had truly fabulous day.

My relative has been bed bound for the last 8 years, unfortunately and is unable to participate in activities and socialise. Recently she does not seem to be very happy and gets very confused. She used to enjoy the banter with the staff but now seems to be lonely. She also needs help with feeding and drinking.

Nelson Manor is a very professional place. Residents are well looked after and the staff are respectful and courteous. Rooms are well equipped and are kept clean and tidy at all times. The food is nutritious and prompt. The staff work hard for their residents. I only have 1 negative comment to make, some staff/bank staff have poor English, this at times makes communication difficult for residents seeking help.

Great caring people, friendly welcoming environment. My mother has settled in well here and already sees it as her home. The home is well maintained, clean and warm, which is great for my mother. I feel comfortable that mother is being looked after and this puts my mind at ease during challenging times. The staff are all friendly and professional.

The care shown during Dad's time at Nelson Manor was wonderful. The staff were caring, professional and would go to any lengths to make sure Dad was comfortable and as content as possible in his final weeks. My sister and I were always made welcome and included in the process and decision-making. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nelson Manor. Lovely staff, lovely management, lovely care - thank you.

I visit my husband on average 5-6 days each week, and on every visit, I find the staff are always polite, friendly and professional at all times.
Staff are very caring towards my husband. They treat him with respect and dignity.

The facilities are excellent. They offer a good range of activities and have a themed week every month with a singer. The food always appears to be appetising with a choice of food available.

I've reviewed Nelson Manor Care Centre previously and given full marks and nothing has changed. I believe my Dad would not be alive if hadn't had the care and compassion he's had for the last two years here. I visit five days a week and it's so very rare that I have to 'mention' something (eg his food isn't cut up), every single employed carer (and nurse) shows complete empathy and kindness to all the residents. Pray that I never need a care home myself, but if I did, I would want it to be here. So very grateful to them all. Thank you so much.

Though sadly my husband's stay at Nelson Manor was brief, I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention he (and I and Bella the Family Dog) received, he was not really in a position to appreciate his short stay, but knowing him as I did, I am sure he felt cared for and content whilst there. I had not been able to visit the home prior to his arrival there, but am sure had I chosen somewhere for him to spend his last weeks, I could not have found anywhere more caring. Thank you to all the staff.

The care home is very inviting, always greeted in reception with a welcome and smile from members of staff. Really caring and friendly members of staff, nothing is ever too much trouble. You can see all the staff genuinely care and seem very happy in their work. And the residents appear happy and content. Activities are held regularly and enjoyed by some residents.
The day room and dining rooms are homely, tidy and clean. The food looks delicious and well-presented. The resident's rooms are also very clean, tidy and homely. Residents are also able to take some of their personal items to help them feel more at home.

I would have no hesitation - highly recommend this care home to family and friends. Don't change a thing, you all do a fabulous job.
