Residents cared for very well, my mother seems very happy here. Staff are professional and very friendly. Always seems to have a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Residents go on day trips which they seem to enjoy, and are always doing different activities.

Mum has been a resident of The Spinney for 6 months. I'm very happy with the care provided. The staff work hard to provide a friendly, warm and caring environment for all residents. They also organise many activities inviting friends and relatives to participate .
I would have no hesitation in recommending
their services.

Whilst visiting my mum. staff are always friendly and help my mum in anyway they can. One of the most important things is that staff and management are honest. It does not feel like a care home; it's like a large family living together.

My mother has been a resident at The Spinney Care Home for the past 3 years. I have been completely satisfied with the care given by all of the staff and management, and also the nursing and medical needs, which my mother has needed. Please pass on my sincere thank you to all staff at The Spinney.

My mum is currently at the home and the staff are brilliant and do their best although there is not enough of them. I have every respect for the job they do. I understand that since Covid it's harder for the home to recruit.
The home itself is very outdated and requires a complete revamp. There is
no garden to speak of and when you drive up the place looks miserable with peeling paint and foliage growing out of the gutters.
They do run family days but they are always during the week and mid day. It would be nice for these to take place on a weekend so those that do work could attend."

My sister has severe mental health problems and has been in several different care homes and hospitals over the past few years. She spends long periods in bed, not wanting to see anyone but in the brief periods when she is 'up' she enjoys being at Larchfield. She can be very uncooperative at times
but the staff are very patient with her and do their best to chivvy her along. I know that my sister is in good hands. Many thanks to all the staff.

My brother moved to Moss Cottage about a year ago and the experience has been very satisfactory to date. He is eating and drinking much better than previously in my opinion. The carers who are effectively his social life are attentive, entertaining and painstaking and I'm grateful for that. The nursing
care is adequately monitoring his state and have on several occasions moved him to hospital when his health gave grounds for concern so overall I am very satisfied.

The home is very outdated. Needs updating to look like a home. The food looks excellent. Most of the staff are quite pleasant. Mum is looked after in the best way possible. The owner needs to concentrate on refurbishments and not just the individuals money.

Thank you for your feedback. We do have a refurbishment plan in place and this year have had new loft curtains and fire doors throughout. The bathroom floors are scheduled for replacement and we are working our way through each area identified.Angie or myself can discuss progress with you at a time convenient for you.

My husband has been resident in Larchfield Manor 12 months in July and is very happy and well looked after there. I am also kept well informed of all information and happenings connected with him and when he has anything not right with his health they arrange for the doctor to see him. He has a lovely
large room with an outside patio and garden. He also is eating well as I am usually there when eating his lunch. He accepts he needs to be there which makes my life also much easier.

My mum has been resident at Moss Cottage since January 2025. The staff are really caring and mum has settled in really well. The food provided is excellent. 3 meals a day with lots of variety and choice. The home is cosy and there is always a relaxed feel in the day room. It is more like a living room.
All the residents look happy and well cared for. My mum is kept safe and well. There are nurses in site too for emergencies.
My mum has a lovely room that is kept clean and fresh. All her clothes are laundered and well kept. The cooks do an amazing job daily providing lovely meals.
My mum is settled and I feel confident she is cared for very well.
I am happy that she is happy there and feel assured of her care. The management and staff all seem very happy to be working there which is also a good sign. There is good staff morale.
The home lovely. Snacks are provided in between meals and there is a lovely lady who is employed to chat and engage with residents for wellbeing.

Activities they do. Couldn't recomend this place enough.

The Spinney has really good communication
with my brother via phone calls and myself via emails.

It was my 50th Birthday on Tuesday, this week and my mum is a resident at the care home & unfortunately she's not able to get out/or organise anything for my special Birthday.

So therefore, I mentioned it to a member of staff at the care home and they said it would be okay for me to come upto Nelson

Manor Care Home to have my lunch with my mum& they also organised an entertainer for the afternoon.

I had truly fabulous day.
