My husband has been resident in Larchfield Manor for just over one year and has been well looked after during this time. He has a lovely room and access to a patio weather permitting.

He has recently had cataracts removed from both eyes and has been well cared for with medication and eye drops given frequently there after. He is settled there which is a great relief to me.

My friend, has had several unwanted visits from another resident one during the night. She has been very frightened and felt threatened. I'm unhappy now as she states she is unhappy. The body map as im told by my friend has not been done some general thing regarding PAT test by home haven't been done.
A few medication issues, which thankfully my friend has full capacity and tells the staff.

I feel that staffing levels aren't good enough as this wandering resident should be especially as he's known for it.

My husband has been a resident at Larchfield for the last 6 months and seems to have settled well into the routine of living in a care home.

The staff are exceptionally supportive and caring and recent changes to the running of the home have made a noticeable difference.

My sister has severe mental health problems and has been in several different care homes and hospitals over the past few years. She spends long periods in bed, not wanting to see anyone but in the brief periods when she is 'up' she enjoys being at Larchfield. She can be very uncooperative at times but the staff are very patient with her and do their best to chivvy her along. I know that my sister is in good hands. Many thanks to all the staff.

The day I walked into Larchfield Manor I wasn't sure if I wanted to live here, but after a couple of weeks I was very aware of how lovely it was, after growing up, I did not realise there was such loving and caring places like these. The staff in all departments where loving, helpful and would give you the moon if they could. Office staff also took care of all life outside, money worries all, I love them all.

After it became increasingly clear that mum wasn't managing at home due to her advancing dementia we wanted to find mum a home from home where mum would feel safe and comfortable. Two of mum's favourite hobbies are gardening and shopping and Larchfield Manor has provided a room for her overlooking the garden where she can watch the birds and squirrels and large enough to have some items of furniture and her treasured nik naks around her. Mum has only been here a few weeks and already her loved ones have noticed her change of mood and how happy and settled she is now. Mums health is also improving due to the consistent meal times in the beautiful panelled dining room. There are activities going on everyday and mum is joining in them all, nurturing her social nature and making new friends. As a family, our priority is mums safety and happiness and Larchfield Manor provides both these through the dedication and caring staff and their excellent provision of care.

My wife and I searched for some time for a decent care home for my father-in-law. We visited Larchfield Manor and spoke to the manager's deputy, who gave us a tour and showed us two rooms. The garden-facing room was perfect for my father-in-law as he loved the outdoors and the view of the birds and squirrels. The deputy's open manner and willingness to answer all our questions was reassuring and we moved my father-in-law in. Unfortunately he had another heart attack after three days and had to be hospitalised until his death, but we felt we had placed him in a safe home, even for that time, compared to other care homes. I have no hesitation in recommending Larchfield Manor.

Homely place for residents and families. The staff work hard and are caring and committed. The residents look contented and the managers are approachable though often very busy. They listen.

As a family, we have been able to visit our loved one and it feels like 'home'. So we are happy and reassured.

Mum moved into Larchfield on Friday. I was incredibly anxious about how she would feel about it, but my sister and I had looked at a few places beforehand and there was no doubt in our minds the moment we walked through the door at Larchfield that it was the place for Mum. Laughter all around, carers ready to help with any questions or issues, and a place that felt and smelt more like a family country house than a care home. Mum has a bit of dementia, mobility issues, and deafness. But she has been made to feel so welcome by the lovely staff that it feels like a dream situation! The staff are just some of the wonderful staff who have made Mum feel at home. I had no idea that there were places like Larchfield! I can sleep at night for the first time in ages, knowing that Mum has people around her who care and who will come to love her. Thank you!

Mum has been a resident at Larchfield Manor for almost two years now and couldn't be better cared for if I was doing it myself. The staff and management quickly and seamlessly adapt to her ever-changing needs, always with respect and dignity, but with great humour and fun too. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff, who seem to genuinely enjoy their interactions with all the residents. The management is very approachable and happy to discuss any worries or queries. Mum was adamant that she would never go into a care home, yet, from her very first day, she loved Larchfied and I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Following a fairly traumatic period where Mum sadly passed and Dad's ability to live independently was reducing, moving into a care home became the only option. We were very apprehensive of how Dad would take the transition but finding Larchfield Manor was an absolute godsend.
There is a homely feel, not clinical, the care staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Residents are treated with dignity and respect and it is very evident the care team genuinely care. I can see on Dad's face he likes the interaction and banter they give him which is neither rushed nor forced. Residents always seem comfortable and content.
The management team are equally wonderful, very responsive and proactive, and always have time to talk things through. They clearly put a lot of effort into maintaining a happy team and make it look easy.

I am very grateful to Larchfield Manor for how well they look after Dad and would highly recommend this home.

Having visited relatives and friends in care homes on numerous occasions I know that such places come in all shapes and sizes, and some are better than others.
So when the time came to find a care home for my wife, my family and I knew the importance of 'getting it right'. We knew it didn't need to have been built yesterday, nor lavishly appointed. Essentially it would be a home-from-home, well-run and have a team of well-trained and experienced staff.
Few stones were left unturned during the search and, eventually, it was found that Larchfield Manor ticked all the boxes. The big day came and my wife was lovingly welcomed by all into the Larchfield family, and she quickly settled in.
As expected, round-the-clock care is on hand, smiling faces frequently offer cheery words - sometimes even a song - and, if necessary, a comforting hug. My wife loves her room, the food is good and she shows all the signs of being happy and content at Larchfield.

Thankfully we made the right choice!

We were very fortunate to find a home for our Mum where the management and staff are very caring in what they do. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum has been well looked after since the end of May 2023.

Mum was very disorientated at first but was encouraged to join in activities and meet others. She now has lots of friends and acquaintances. We also found a family member who lives there as well, so Mum gets quick visits from her grandchildren too. Visiting times are flexible as long as meal times are considered. There is a garden at Larchfield Manor where Mum can be taken to sit outside. Overall everyone working there is very understanding and takes Mum's mobility limitations into consideration.

Dad moved into Larchfield Manor following a fall and a period of time in hospital. He was very unsure, anxious and confused when he was admitted, along with having a range of physical care needs. Larchfield were fantastic from the very start; they helped Dad settle by providing him with lots of reassurance. They quickly sorted out a moving and handling assessment, as well as equipment that was needed, and liaised regularly with the General Practioner and District Nurse to sort out a range of ongoing health issues.

He is now much less confused and far less anxious. He is enjoying taking part in the various activities and the staff have clearly spent time chatting to him, as they can often tell me things about his past that he has shared with them. Thank you to all the team.

After a minor fall, our mum ended up in hospital, medically fit, but her mobility was declining rapidly and she was very reluctant to return home. As I rang around trying to find a place at short notice, Larchfield Manor stood out immediately as demonstrating a depth of experience and understanding I wasn't finding elsewhere. When we visited we were impressed by the residents and the staff, all of whom were very present in a setting which felt very much like home. Luckily for us, there was a space, and the team supported us to make a swift (covid-safe) transfer.

We brought my mum back to a lovely room with views across the gardens. Since then as we've settled her in nothing has been too much trouble. We were encouraged to hang her bird feeders up on the bushes outside, and within seconds a coal tit was feeding. And the delicious food is tempting enough to persuade my mum to eat. Thanks to the endlessly helpful team who have made this difficult move very positive and easy.

Mum sadly only spent a month in Larchfield Manor but I couldn't have asked for a better place for her to spend her last weeks. She had a beautiful room, bright, spacious and warm in a beautiful setting just off Leadhall Lane. The team that looked after mum were absolutely fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble. Our family was made to feel so welcome on every visit. Thank you all so much for helping us through this very difficult time.
