Care home is clean, food is good and varied. They also cater to individual needs. My brother has settled really well, all staff are great and take time to listen and advise or just reassure if needed. I would highly recommend.

Dad is really happy and loves all the staff. The care is very personal to his needs. He sees the staff as friends as well as carers. And we feel confident and reassured that he is in the best possible hands.

Staff at the Spinney show exemplary levels of care to individual residents and are pro-active in responding to resident's needs. The 'care' aspect of the home is obvious to all who visit. The resident is positive about the food and activities. Staffing could always be higher - during visits I've seen some staff struggling with their workload (albeit without complaint). The home itself needs more work - while the communal areas have recently been refurbished with fresh decorating and a new floor, the bedrooms are not class leading, in my father's case old furniture, few facilities and looks a little worn. I'm a little concerned about record keeping, particularly in respect of hospital visits and ongoing conditions but otherwise have few worries. It would be nice to have a facility to speak to our loved ones - my father is unable to use his mobile phone and as I live miles away, monthly visits are all that we can do - a communal phone with help would be good.

Since my husband he has been in the Spinney he has been treated very well by all the staff they are very kind and caring. I'm always made very welcome when I visit, the home has a lovely atmosphere. The staff here really do care.

We can't fault the service and care that has been given to my mum. The staff are loving, caring and respectful. We couldn't have asked for more. The residents are looked after well and their individual needs are catered for. There are always events or things going on to stimulate and entertain.

I would highly recommend.

Washing is always missing even with names on clothes!

Always helpful, careing, keep me informed of any issues/concern's related to mum. Although the nursing home is old and needs some t.l.c. all the staff do there upmost to care for everyone of the residents

I would recommend this care home. The staff are hardworking, kind and helpful. The home is always spotlessly clean. They take good care of my father , he has been with them for over two years and we are very happy with the care provided.

Information and communication are both very good

I cannot praise the staff at Nelson Manor highly enough. Their care for my Dad was wonderful and their support to me was equally good. Everyone is so pleasant, friendly, helpful and approachable at every level of staff. In addition the home is very professionally managed and well run in all areas, including administration, laundry, catering, cleaning. It was a huge relief knowing Dad was being well looked after by knowledgeable, caring and well trained staff. They kept me informed at all times and explained clearly what they were doing in terms of his care and why it was necessary. It was reassuring to see the same staff who knew Dad personally, rather than a constantly changing team. A named nurse was assigned to Dad and she and her colleagues provided excellent care. The end of life care given to Dad and us as a family was all we could ever have wished for. I highly recommend Nelson Manor as a first class home and one where I would be more than happy to be a resident.

The spinney care home is very good. All of the staff are excellent and display a level of care i have always been impressed with. They are also very pleasant and helpful to all visitors who attended to visit family and friends. Thank you very much paticularly for the care and attention given to my mother.

The Home is always very clean and tidy, i ve always found the clients bathroom to be clean with plenty of towels, I have noticed over the last few months lots of different staff, some with very limited experience, this is only my observation, the meals I have seen always look good and tasty, the staff are always pleasant when I ve been and are very approachable, I have popped in the day room and I am always happy to see them all enjoying daytime activities.

The home is very welcoming as have been the staff. standards are high and the staff have been excellent. inspiring confidence in the overall care package and creating a real peace of mind with the family

The home has a welcoming feel and is always clean and well organised. The staff are friendly and caring and aways there to listen and sort any problems out . My sister is well cared for and I'm happy for her to be in Nelson Manor .

At very difficult times have always been there.After my mum arrived at the nursing home she was exceptionally poorly and with care and attention she gained weight a pressure from hospital healed and most importantly she was settled

The home is always very clean and well maintained, the food is good, and my mum has a lovely bedroom where she feels comfortable and settled. We are very grateful for all the kindness and support the staff show every day. I would highly recommend Nelson Manor.
