My late Dad ,loved the care and attention he was given.
He knew all the staff nursing and none nursing.
All were loved with 'hay girl or son just can please just or put the footy on the telly '
I was going in to see Dad twice a day and always met with love and affection part of the family.
The team are great x

The Spinney is a very homely care home I was made very welcome when I brought my husband in here. The staff are very helpful & informative, I can't fault the care that my husband has received. All the staff that work here are really good from the kitchen staff, laundry, cleaning, Admin, everyone makes
you feel welcome. There's always something to do here for the residents they have a very good activities programme. If your looking for a care home that really cares this the one.

Staff are always kind, patient and friendly, and their good-humoured and fun-loving interaction with residents is outstanding, especially during many and varied organised activities. Residents are provided with a fantastic variety of experiences. There is regular communication between carers and relatives
in the form of photos, videos, etc. We are always made very welcome and it is so reassuring to know that dad is getting the best possible care.

The staff are always approachable, caring and kind, which makes a real difference to residents and their families. There is also a very good activities programme running throughout the week, giving residents plenty of opportunities to stay engaged and involved.
The home caters well for my mum's dietary
needs as she is vegetarian, and they ensure she has suitable meal options. The food is generally good and they make the effort to accommodate her meal plan.
A new manager has recently started and has already made a positive impression, very approachable and seem keen to support both residents and families.

My Dad has been at the Spinney since September. Since he has been here, my sister and I, have been really impressed by the way that he and all the other residents are looked after by all the staff. There is always an activity for them to be involved with, from music, games, crafts, guest dancers and
singers and many more. There is always a lot of attentive staff whenever we visit and they are also available to talk to relatives whenever we need. His bedroom and bathroom is always clean and tidy and his personal care is excellent. The kitchen staff work so hard too and provide lovely meals, snacks and special events food e.g afternoon teas. Everyone who works there should be recognised for the excellent standard of service they provide, the domestics, carers, nursing staff, kitchen staff, events co-ordinator, office staff, maintenance staff and the managers (apologies if I've missed anyone). My sister and I can't thank you enough for the way you are looking after Dad. 'Simply the Best'

Mum has been a resident of The Spinney for 6 months. I'm very happy with the care provided. The staff work hard to provide a friendly, warm and caring environment for all residents. They also organise many activities inviting friends and relatives to participate .
I would have no hesitation in recommending
their services.

Whilst visiting my mum. staff are always friendly and help my mum in anyway they can. One of the most important things is that staff and management are honest. It does not feel like a care home; it's like a large family living together.

We have found the care home to be excellent so far. Staff are always welcoming and friendly.
Walking into The Spinney care home when I first visited I felt it had a real good feel to it.
The staff are all great with my Dad and he really did settle in straight away.
The Spinney has really good communication
with my brother via phone calls and myself via emails.
Myself and all family members are overall happy with everything about the care home.

Mum has been a resident at The Spinney for over 18 months and myself and the family are more than happy with the care she receives.
Mum is very content in the home and this is down to the care that she receives from each and every member of staff, all of who are very approachable when presented with
any queries or requests we may have

The care and support provided by the staff is excellent and they treat the residents with dignity. The care home provides a homely feeling and it feels as though the residents and staff are one big family. The home is very clean but may look dated in some places due to the age of the building. There
are plenty of activities for the residents to join in with and even events are organised at the home for residents and their family to attend. Management and staff go the extra mile to provide a positive and pleasant environment for it's residents. Individual rooms are clean and tidy, providing private space for each resident. Food is prepared fresh each day and residents get a small choice each mealtime and even the chef will offer an alternative if there is nothing on the menu that the resident likes. Overall the home feels safe and secure for the residents.

I am very pleased with the care provided to my mother at The Spinney. She is very settled and I am sure this is due to the care and diligent concern that is shown to her by the staff and management in the home. I am pleased that I am kept well informed of any issues she may have, and this is done without
delay. This is the third home my mother has been in due to closures, etc, and it is by far the best!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.819)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.819) out of 10 for The Spinney Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.819 for The Spinney Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (199 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 238 Ratings = 4.819
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Spinney Nursing Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
