Nelson Manor Care Centre

My father is comfortable and relates well to the staff and his surroundings. Communication with the management is good and the staff are caring and keep me informed of any events relating to my father.

Nelson care home is clean, well staffed and provides a high level of care for my mum. The staff know me and they know my mum well and address her needs with care.

Overall I think Nelson Manor gives mum the care she needs, in my experience of visiting, mum is clean, relaxed and generally as good as is possible. We the family could not possibly give her the care she receives at Nelson Manor. I cannot compare Nelson Manor with any other care home but I am very satisfied with how mum is cared for.

My mum has only been in Nelson Manor for about three weeks. In that time, she has been cared for by the most professional and friendly staff. They can answer any questions we have and keep us updated on her care.

My mum has been in quite a few care homes over the years and I can say that Nelson Manor is the best of all the care homes she has been to. All the staff are very professional, in every way from the cleaning staff to the nursing staff. Well done Nelson Manor Care Centre.

I am really happy with the care my mother is receiving at Nelson Manor. She has felt comfortable, settled and content from her first day there. All staff have made myself, other family members and mum's friends feel very welcome when we visit. They always treat mum with respect, dignity, empathy and a smile. The Nurses are always approachable & have been very helpful when we have needed to ask them about any of mum's ongoing health issues or her care. My sister and I are really glad we chose Nelson Manor and we would both definitely recommend it to anyone with a loved one needing excellent care in a safe and reassuring environment.

Mum was admitted to Nelson Manor Care Centre in March from hospital for palliative care. She was treated with dignity, respect and always immaculately clean, and her room was lovely. The staff were very kind to mum and ourselves, we were allowed to go every day as mum became more poorly. It was a comfort to know that mum was being cared for so well by the dedicated people at Nelson Manor, and made a difficult time for us all much easier. I would not hesitate to recommend Nelson Manor Care Centre.

The management, administration and all staff have always been helpful and amazing with us as a family. My father's needs have always been taken care of. Everyone is so friendly with him. Nelson Manor has coped exceptionally well during these unprecedented times of COVID. Always first at thinking about residents.

I have always found the staff to be caring, friendly and helpful. I believe the staff have a genuine concern about the well-being of the residents.

A really friendly caring place. My mother is so happy and we feel that there is genuine, loving and professional care. Not had any problems at all. Always feel to be welcome and nothing seems to be too much trouble - just ask if you have any questions about anything.

My father arrived at Nelson Manor and the overall standard from the management to the carers has been excellent. Would highly recommend.

Cannot praise Nelson Manor staff for the care and service. Superb staff and cannot praise them enough for the way they have dealt with COVID-19. This has been an extremely hard time for families not being able to see loved ones, but telephone calls to them have been excellent with updates on loved ones. One word, excellent.

I am very pleased with the care my husband receives. The manager and staff are excellent and with Covid-19 they have managed the situation excellently. They make him and myself very welcome.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. Any issues we raise are dealt with efficiently and immediately. The phone handset used for incoming calls to residents is very poor - most of the time I can't hear what Mum is saying as the volume is very low, although Mum can hear me OK. We are kept informed regarding Mum's wellbeing and the staff have done a great job keeping her safe during the pandemic. It's better now we can visit regularly on an appointment basis. The catering staff accommodate Mum's likes/dislikes well. Unusual situation to review at the moment.

I've been very impressed with all the measures put in place due to covid-19. Strict cleanliness and safety measures put in place straight away. Always friendly and caring staff.

The staff are very friendly and professional. My mum is well cared for and I am always kept informed.

Mother has settled in well, with the odd off day but on saying that the staff are very warm and caring and look after her and soon settle her.

I find it very welcoming and I am happy with the care my mother receives. I also find the staff very accommodating.

Very knowledgable staff and management. More than happy to spend as much as is necessary to explain everything regarding my dad's needs and look after him above and beyond what's expected.

On the whole, my mother is well cared for. She never smells and her room is clean and tidy. She has several complex nursing needs which seem to be being dealt with. She also has advanced vascular dementia and is blind. We feel we can trust the home to look after Mum when we are not there.
