I am very happy with the care my husband receives. Thank you
Our mum moved to Mayflower after a stay in a dementia ward where she had complex needs and severe anxiety. From the start, the care has been exceptional. The home is spacious with a beautiful large garden where we love sitting with Mum. The staff are outstanding-kind, respectful, and experienced in supporting residents with challenging behaviours. They truly care and treat everyone with dignity. Communication is excellent. The team keeps us regularly updated, and the app is a great way to check in on Mum throughout the day. Staff are always approachable and supportive whenever we have questions or concerns. The food is lovely, with a good variety and plenty of choice. A big thank you to the manager and the whole team for running such a well-managed, compassionate home. We're so grateful for everything you do.
We feel incredibly lucky to have found Mayflower Care Home for my dad. All the staff are wonderful, professional, caring and very approachable. If my family have ever had to ask questions staff make themselves available and are always honest and reassuring. My dad is well looked after in a safe environment, and we as a family value greatly the dementia experience throughout the care home.
Mayflower was the only care home we could find due to hospital's reports on my wife. The whole team worked hard to get the medication and care right. Slowly things improved month after month and she has responded so well. All the residents are affected differently whatever their background. The staff have to deal with so many different issues. So I recommend Mayflower Care Home
My husband can be very challenging but the staff are caring and patient with him. The 'family hub app' is so good for viewing the highs and lows of his day and his care. I trust the staff who are always ready to explain any queries I might have. I am incredibly sad that he is so poorly, and I miss him terribly, but I trust that he is safe and in a very clean, very caring and actually quite peaceful place.
My husband has been in the mayflower a very long time, lots of staff have moved on from when he was first there. Obviously they knew him really well and I was a very happy wife. The staff are all very helpful kind and caring and I feel happy in the knowledge that he is cared for.
The home is very welcoming from all members of staff, and they cannot do enough for you if you ask or request anything. All areas are always clean and tidy. My relative is happy and contented in there. The management team are always forward thinking and planning for the future. I have no hesitation in recommending Mayflower Care Home.
Excellent care home. The staff are very caring and react quickly to mum's complex needs. I am able to see mum's exact care via a portal which give peace of mind 24/7. They even formed a mens group for my dad as he finds it hard to deal with the changes in mum and is able to discuss his feelings there.
Staff show care and compassion at all times. Staff keep dad clean and tidy at all times, ensuring his needs are met. A good choice of food that is varied and in dad's case plentiful. Mayflower keep us well informed and are slwsys contactable, especially if there are any issues. They allow us to give feedback and input into dad's care. Highly recommended
Mayflower is a warm, friendly, clean and supportive environment. The care that the staff give to my mum is of a high standard as I would expect. They support mum in all areas physically, emotionally as well as all her health needs. Mayflower is very well run with approachable staff obviously it would have been better for mum to never have had dementia and be able to live out her days in her own home sadly this wasn't the case. Mayflower has made it a comfortable alternative. They organise a lot to involve the service users as well as encouraging family participation which have always been fun and engaging.
My father came to The Mayflower in November 2024 with late stage dementia and he was struggling with anxiety and anger issues at home affecting him and my mum. Since he has been there my dad has flourished yes he has deteriorated a bit but that's the disease but the home is clean fresh and welcoming the staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble they really take the time with the residents and provide lots of things to do with them and have entertainment regularly at the home and they love it, I cannot thank the enough as my dad has settled in nicely and we would hate for him to go anywhere else I would give it a 5* rating every time
My Husband has now been in Mayflower Care Home for a year. In all that time he has been treated with excellent care, kindness, respect and good humour. The activities for special occasions VE Day, Valentines Day, Easter etc have have all been enjoyable and it is good to see the residents enjoying their time outside. I really appreciate the hard work that goes into these occasions. I too, have been treated with respect and feel that you have all become part of my extended family and thank every one of you.
My Grandad is at the Mayflower, the staff there are always warm, friendly and helpful whenever I have visited. They are very patient and knowledgeable in dealing with my Grandad's Alzheimer's & dementia, and treat him with dignity and respect. I appreciate the care and compassion the nurses and staff at the Mayflower show to my Grandad. The regular updates on resident's eating, health, and other related check ins provide comfort during the time that we are unable to visit. Thank you Mayflower staff for your kindness & dedication.
The Mayflower is a very, very special place and as a family we feel blessed to have our Father in the care of the Staff that work there. They are exceptional in their experience and specialist training in how they treat residents with dignity, are able to get the very best out of the residents at all different stages of dementia/Alzheimer's conditions, be it basic interactions, playing games or taking them on outings, allowing the residents to feel they have choices when their ailments render them very few is fantastic. The menus are excellent and they are able to accommodate my Father's preferred pescatarian diet, with lots of opportunities to have refreshments, fruit and cake and a lovely lounge area which they encourage all residents to come and sit in for social activities and engagement. The Portal is a useful tool for family (especially family that live abroad) to keep in touch with our Father's daily care and events. It is a very special place, and we thoroughly recommend it.
My dad has Vascular dementia and after a traumatic experience with another care home the moment I contacted the Mayflower the kindness and compassion from that first phone call was second to none. The staff are all warm and professional to all residents and their families and have been supportive and reassuring to us through this difficult time. I cannot praise the staff enough for all they do for my dad and the other residents who are all treated with dignity kept clean and well fed. I would not hesitate to recommend the Mayflower.
My husband has been in Mayflower care home for 9 months. The care they give him is exceptional. The staff are always polite, caring and very friendly. The meals always look very appetising as well as many snacks in between. The entertainment staff are fantastic. I'm more than happy with the care my husband receives. Everyone goes above and beyond to help and support my family.
My brother was moved to Mayflower from another care home that could not cater for his needs. I cannot get to visit very often and thought about moving him nearer but having seen how happy and settled he is have decided this is the best place for him. My brother no longer recognises any of his family. I have found the carers and nurses here to be so lovely. I can ring and speak to them anytime and they always reassure me. I have no worries. He is in the best place.
The staff at Mayflower provides a wonderful service and are very good at communicating with me as I live some distance from the home and am unable to visit. The carers do a great job when dealing with some very challenging people who need help.
My dad has Vascular dementia and has been at the Mayflower for three years. It has been a difficult journey for us as a family but the Mayflower have been consistently supportive and I feel that my dad is receiving good, understanding care. I don't live close enough to visit more than once a week but I am able to use the relative's online link to keep informed of what is happening with my dad, and I find the communication to be really good with the nurses on his unit. I know a lot of the staff through visiting my dad and many of them have been there for a long time which is a good sign, ensuring consistency of approach. Many thanks to all staff - it's such an important and challenging job.
Overall very pleased with the care my dad receives, all staff are friendly and go out there way to please, the home itself is a very clean environment and spacious for the residents to move around in, and the rooms for residents are from home to home.
