View Full Details of Montrose HallThe staff are wonderful from management down to carers and chefs. All of them treat residents and relatives with respect and kindness.
Communication poor. Residents' needs not met. Home said couldn't meet them ie hygiene, nutrition, elimination (this is not a nursing need). Staff frequently sat at a table on their phones - not professional. Relative sat in chair at 11:45 am, covered in scrambled egg (staff knew she couldn't feed herself). No communication from management re terminating. After a hospital stay measures not put back in place to lessen number of falls. (We accepted that she would fall and never blamed anyone). Received a letter stating we hadn't paid May fees (we had). It appeared we had been refunded too much but no one seemd to accept that initially). Totally unprofessional.
Since my mum moved into Montrose Hall she has improved greatly. Mum fell and broke her hip and required support to start walking again. The staff at Montrose Hall have been amazinf and have gone above and beyond for my mum and us as a family. Mum is now walking! Mum feels safe and is very happy. We as a family are extremely grateful for all the support we have received from all the staff and the management team. Montrose Hall has lots of activities for Mum to get involved in and Mum has even been recognised for her veteran status.
Inside is clean & well cared for, really nice caring staff that interact well with the residents. Rooms have a TV, and a small fan. The corridors have fun themes to them. Personal Items do wander due to residents' dementia, so mark all your stuff clearly! Take a picture of any glasses :) Nice gardens, although we didn't go out during visits, was nice to look out of the window to see them. Cons: Would highly recommend classical, or golden oldies era music over modern day music played during the day, especially as that has been shown to help dementia patients, was mostly present-day radio. I was present when an hour of oldies (1950 - 1970's) was on and the residents began humming along, some even singing lyrics but many of the people who looked lost in their own world became more animated. Some air freshener for the corridors, as they have a bit of a weird chemical smell. Needs info on how to get in on weekends, as it's not clear.
A lovely home with friendly staff. Very clean, fresh and well decorated. Residents appear happy and well looked after.
Montrose Hall has a friendly feel to it from just entering. My friend, who is in the early stages of dementia, says he is happy here. What particularly impressed me is that there are couches for residents to sit on in the corridor if they are having a little walk. The grounds are all enclosed, making it safe for them to get fresh air outside. Other establishments I have visited in the past with my relatives have felt like prisons at times.
Staff are all friendly and welcoming. They are really helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is also a lovely atmosphere in the home and lots of activities for residents. My mother in law has settled really well.
What a great place. Always happy and friendly staff. Residents are always happy and cared for well.
Overall the care provided is very good. Staff are caring and supportive. The home is very clean and well maintained. Activities are regularly provided and the food is of an excellent standard. The security for residents is good but not for personal belongings, although staff have listened to our concerns and recently taken steps to improve this. On two occasions our relative has not had a bra on or her own knickers although all were labelled which cause a loss of dignity and distress.
Staff friendly + welcoming. Very supportive to family + caring with residents. Communication excellent. All residents looked cared for + happy. We are happy my mum is in Montrose Hall.
I have always found Montrose Hall to be a pleasant place to visit with all staff adding to a positive experience. Montrose Hall is a place I would hope to live if I was to be in the position any of the residents find themselves.
Since my Grandma moved into the care home, I have noticed a positive difference in her. It is like I have my old grandma back. She is ever so happy and settled and that is down to the amazing staff at Montrose Hall. They go above and beyond, not just for the residents but for their family members too.
Feel comfortable when visiting staff + management are great making you feel welcome and see to your every need just as they do with all the residents who are staying there.
I have found all the staff to be very welcoming and helpful. I have seen a vast improvement in my mum since she has been in Montrose Hall. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a safe caring place for their relatives.
