My dad has been in this care home since mid 2025. He and all the residents are treated with respect and care. The staff genuinely do everything they possibly can to keep people comfortable and happy. The home itself is always clean. The kitchen staff deserve huge recognition making my dad lots of
nice GF food. He never wants for anything. We joke that he is treated like a king but it's not far from the truth. The management of the home works seamlessly. They make it look so easy when it's not. They are very kind to my mum who visits everyday and to me who is there once a week. Charming, friendly and welcoming. I am so happy my dad is in such a great place.

My husband has been a resident in Gainsborough House since Aug 2024. There is always a warm welcome on entering and on his unit. I visit at many different times and witness first hand that he is treated with great care and dignity. The staff are very responsive to his needs which gives me peace of
mind and confidence that he is safe and well cared for.

Since mum has been in the home all the management and staff have been incredible in making her stay so comfortable and all her needs are meet over and above.

My brother and myself want to express our gratitude for the excellent care our mum received in her final few months. She received the very best of care and was treated with respect and all her needs were catered for. All staff were kind and gentle with her and extremely attentive checking on her
constantly without being intrusive. The staff took very good care of us all as family as well and were friendly and chatty.
We could not praise the staff and home high enough and our mum came to the end of her long life.

We would just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff on Matisse for giving professional care to our brother/brother in law P. They have been very caring and have provided a safe and nurturing place for him to live in. Prior to Gainsborough House he was in a hospital environment for 16 months
not understanding where he was or why? His social worker approached 50+ plus care homes but not one of them came out to assess him or meet him. We then approached yourselves feeling very desperate and disheartened. You came and rescued not only P but his whole family and for that we are eternally grateful. The staff are so friendly and greet you with warm smiles when you visit. The food is excellent and the home is extremely clean. I would not hesitate using you again and will definitely recommend you. Take care and thank you for all the love and care you have shown to P and family.

A belated review but much deserved. My husband was resident on Renoir for over 4 years
His complex needs were well met by the team. Their care, compassion & understanding was wonderful
They not only cared for him, but our family too during his stay, staff became our extended family,
Cannot
speak too highly of them. The facilities
& activities were tailored to each residents needs
Meals were plentiful & nourishing with snacks & drinks always available. His passing was made so much easier by their love & support.

My mum is a resident on Renoir she's been here since been discharged from hospital in 2023 mum had lived at our family home for many years and we worried about how she would be in a new environment, but them worries soon disappeared when we got to know the staff on Renoir's unit and can see how
caring and compassionate they are, they go out of their way to make the residents feel special and families feel reassured that their loved ones are well cared for. Couldn't ask for a better home for my mum.

My husband has been at Gainsborough House for almost five years. During that time his care has been excellent. They have adapted well to ensure that his needs have been met as his condition has changed. Despite him having limited communication now they anticipate what is in his best interest and
look after him in a caring and professional way. The staff are supportive and welcoming.

We have found Gainsborough House to be excellent in every way. Michael has improved greatly since been admitted on 20/08/2025. Thank to staff and we have noticed a big difference in Michael.

My husband has been in Renoir at Gainsborough House since discharged from hospital 2 weeks ago. He has alzheimers, type 2 diabetes & coeliac. I was concerned about his gluten free food, but I needn't have worried. He is safe and hasn't been frightened. By day 3 he was settled and loved the staff.
The staff are kind, caring, professional and their care is person centered. My only hope is I can have him stay here after this period of respite. Everywhere smells and looks clean I would recommend Gainsborough House to anyone who needs dementia nursing care for their loved one.

My mum has been here for 12 months now, she came on end of life but the staff have been amazing with her care and she is still going strong. Melisa has been great and if I have ever needed any support she has always been there, even the reception staff. Kerry has also been good, especially when it
comes to us having any medical care because she is experienced in this.

My father has been resident for respite care for 7 weeks. During that time he has been treated with dignity & respect by all members of staff. They have got to know him and his likes & dislikes & they have accommodated these (e.g. chocolate treats!) The activities have bee varied and marvelous. He
particularly liked the music & arrival activities. His personal care/hygiene has been excellent. The food has been varied & nutritious. His room was clean & comfortable. I would recommend Gainsborough House to any friend or relative. Thank you.

Friendly environment for residents and family members. Very clean rooms and beds are nicely made up.
Laundry department take charge of belongings very well. Nothing seems to go missing. Some items of clothing may need to be ironed though. Mum has been at Gainsborough for many years and in previous
years everything was ironed nicely. I appreciate it must be a very busy department and they do well really. Unit can sometimes be noisy and the bussers/alarms can be piercingly loud in some areas. Every member of staff is always so very helpful and approachable. We are very happy with Gainsborough House. Home has started sending out a newsletter, nice to read.

Very pleased with Dad's care. Done more here than in hospital. Always clean, tidy, smart. Room immaculate.

I want to commend the amazing staff who work on the Matisse Unit. My husband is cared for as if he were their family member.
Nothing is too much trouble and not only do they care about him, but they support and help me to understand and deal with the difficulties that Alzheimer’s disease can
bring.
The quality of care, the surroundings, the menu, and many activities that are tailored personally towards the residents are all outstanding.
I wouldn't want my husband to be cared for anywhere else.
Thank you so much Gainsborough House.

My mum was to see if she liked it. After 1 night I bought her home, no staff. Left without a drink out in bed in clothes, told she would have to stay there until they got the right equipment to move her which had to be ordered. Didn’t get medication until 12.00 am. The decor is very nice but
patients are out in the corridor part, not the fancy rooms that are on their website. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

I would just like to email and let you know how much I and my family appreciate your staff at Gainsborough House - the staff on the Renoir floor. My mum was taken in to hospital yesterday with a suspected stroke, she was there from 8 am and no one on A&E could provide personnel care and she was
getting sore. The A&E dept was over run and Mum was in a corridor all day. The staff from the care home called me to see how Mum was doing and I mentioned about the personnel care, within 10 minutes two members of staff arrived at A&E and, not only cleaned Mum, they brought her fresh nightwear. They were not in uniform so I can only guess this was done in their own time and is over and above what I would expect - that is the sort of ladies they are - they always go the extra mile and are a credit to London & Manchester Healthcare

My mum received the most amazing care during her six months at Gainsborough House. She was treated with dignity and respect. Can’t thank the nurses and carers enough for taking such good care of my mum, especially in her final days. They made a very difficult time for me much easier with their care
and compassion.

My wife went to Gainsborough House on 14/2/23. She was welcomed with open arms. She was only in till she was rushed into hospital on 10/5/23 where she sadly passed away with MND. I recommend this care home, second to none. The love and care them lovely ladies showed my wife was unbelievable. The
ladies went above and beyond their duties, anything my wife desired they did for her. The love and compassion they showed to my wife were heartwarming, to say the least. She was on the Piccasso floor, I can't thank them enough for making her stay as comfortable as possible. God forbid I would need to go into care, I would pick Gainsborough hands down. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ladies.
