What Peaker Park lacks in terms of stunning location is eclipsed by the quality of care. My father was a resident for just over a year, admitted due to the advancement of Parkinsons. Within days of his admission, he was much calmer & soon became settled and contented, which had sadly not been the
case for some while.
As a family, we cannot thank the staff enough, they were without exception caring, attentive & thoroughly engaged with residents in their care.
It is noteworthy that within his time in the home, there were very few staff changes, a testament to the management and wider team.
A particular mention to Chantelle, who was the lead carer throughout, from greeting him on admission she looked beyond his worsening condition and was a great advocate in navigating the complexities surrounding the bureaucracy associated with getting the best possible care for a loved one.
The support and care at end of life for my father and the family was phenomenal, and truly appreciated.

My cousin went to Peaker Park in December 2023, we thought she had a few weeks to live. She had medical problems that are usually non-survivable, she had been neglecting herself. The staff and nursing care were second to none. Her health improved beyond belief and the comfort and attention they give
is admirable. Always so kind. She had 2 years more quality life. We will always be grateful and recommend them.

My husband was a resident for just over a year. At the beginning, he was difficult to deal with as quite violent and tending to wander. During the year, due to the care and kindness of all staff, he became quieter, calmer and settled. I believe the senior care leader, Chantelle, has a very positive
influence and went above and beyond in every respect. The residents were treated as family with their varying needs met. As my husband deteriorated and needed nursing care, this too was excellent. The care for him and the family as he died was absolutely amazing. I cannot thank everyone enough.

My sister was a resident for twenty months, suffering from Alzheimer's dementia and she was thoroughly well looked after by all the staff. She eventually succumbed to Alzheimer's, but the staff looked after her brilliantly right to the very end.

Exemplary. The manager of the unit is superb. Staff are exceptionally helpful and are keen to excel in all they enjoy doing. The professionalism in all areas of care are outstanding. Well run in every respect. Meals are a delight. Peaker Park Care Village is pre-emenent, the highest standards
prevail. Highly recommend this care home.

My husband was admitted to Peaker Park after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. The care he received at Peaker Park was good, but I had to point out to staff that he was no longer able to feed himself and at times I felt they were short staffed.
The staff were very friendly and supportive of my
husband and my self. Very good laundry service he always had clean t shirts always ironed which would have been important to him.
He had a lovely room, sunny and bright with a view of the garden. Everything was spotlessly clean.
I think the quality and standard of food could be improved.

Mum had been to Peaker Park several times for brief stays whilst we were away and was always well cared for. She was very impressed with the food as she had various intolerances. In December it became apparent that she needed full time care and we were very lucky as, despite the home being almost
full, she could move in straight away. Mum's health improved significantly in Peaker Park with the care and understanding of the staff, and it was so comforting to us to know that we had made the right decision. Big thanks to the team who cared for Mum through her last days.
I would like to add that my late Mother in Law, who had Alzheimer's, was cared for in Peaker Park for 6 years. We were very happy with her care.

Mum was moved to Peaker Park for the last week of her life. The home is so calm and the staff go above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with dignity and thought in mind to the very end. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done. A truly wonderful place and
team. Thank you.

My wife was admitted to Peaker Park in February 2017 after being discharged from the psychiatric hospital where she had been confined because of her erratic and sometimes uncontrollable behaviour, which was put down to Alzheimer's. Up until the pandemic, I could wander with her freely through the
building and gardens and even take her down to the pub for a coffee or cider. She survived the pandemic but gradually became less and less mobile until she had to be confined to her bed for her own safety until her death in December 2024.
During this time, I visited her once a week on different days, and always, she herself and the bedding were immaculately clean. I was usually offered coffee when I sat with her. Whenever there were concerns about her health, the staff were totally supportive and I was allowed to stay at her side.
I cannot thank the team on Clipston highly enough.

Our family friend stayed at Peaker Park for a respite stay. Whilst she was there she became a lot more sociable and happy and loved the care staff that looked after her throughout the day and evening. We thought she would struggle coming out of her own home environment but she found it to be home
from home. She was safe, comfortable, happy and cared for. We couldn't fault the care home at all, the staff wherever you went were helpful, happy, and very understanding.
Highly recommend Peaker Park Care Home.

After a fall and infection which resulted in a hospital stay. Dad was discharged from hospital to Peaker Park, initially on Discharge to Assess. We quickly realised that this was the best place for his ongoing personal and care needs.
The staff were always professional and caring, quickly building
a strong bond with Dad. I always felt that they were focused on providing the best care for his needs.
Eventually, as his health was deteriorating the Peaker Park team on Gumley, looked after him with love and sensitivity, allowing us access at any time in his final weeks and days.

Carers are excellent, long shifts but are always ready to help you. Food is shocking and needs to be addressed to cater to all residents. Also, the rules of the home should be made available in all rooms.

My husband was a resident at Peaker Park for three years. I would like to thank everyone for their committed care and professionalism. My husband has been treated with the utmost dignity at the end. Staff cared for the family too. So grateful for all the love and kindness. Thank you Peaker Park for
everything.

My Grandma was admitted as a fast-track patient. The short time my Grandma was here (Approx. 2 weeks) she received the best care! And kept comfortable, staff attended to every need. The communication to us the family was straightforward and informative. The love and support we got were like no
other! I couldn't have wished for a better 2 weeks for my grandma who had been in and out of hospital the majority of 2024, but finally found comfort and peace at Peaker Park. Sadly Grandma has passed but I'm very thankful and my family are very thankful for 24-hour love and care.

Mum has only been in Peaker Park for 4+ weeks, but the staff are great and looked after her very well. Mum's only complaint was the lunchtime cooked food!
27 June 2024
Mum was taken to Peaker Park from the hospital. She has broken her arm and had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's for many years. My sister and I had looked after her since our dad's passing 12 years before. We were very nervous about leaving her in someone else's care. Wow, we were relieved and happy.
Clipston where Mum was, was amazing, thoughtful staff, capable, adaptable, knowledgable and friendly too. Mum had the very best of care, she blossomed. We couldn't be more grateful to the wonderful team at Clipston under the brilliance of the management of Peaker Park.

My very close friend was admitted to Peaker Park with dementia for respite November 2021 and became a full time resident in May 2022. She instantly settled in which made us realise to our relief that she was in the right place for her. She was joining in activities that she would always refuse to
before and gained interaction with different carers that we could not provide at home, we noticed such a difference in her for the better. The staff are fantastic from the ladies on reception who always greet us with a smile and a pleasant chat, they are so helpful, nothing is too much for them. The staff on Gumley Wing are so caring and make our friend feel so much at home. They have a very difficult job but are always respectful and treat her with dignity and keep us well informed about her care and health. I would definitely recommend Peaker Park.

My wife (81) was referred to Peaker Park as an urgent admission (dementia) after very poor care at another home. From the very start, the quality of care, her treatment, the handling of her sometimes very difficult behaviour, was wonderful and quickly produced much calmer and less stressed
behaviour. The staff were all a pleasure to deal with and the genuine affection and humour that they displayed to every resident was wonderful. At the end, her final days were treated with love and compassion and made the whole process bearable.
25 April 2024
I relinquished the care of my husband in October 2022 when he was discharged, to assess, from hospital. It had been difficult for the health authority to find somewhere that could cater with the complexities of Lewy body dementia.
But Peaker Park was prepared to care for him. Even though the care
home was 12 miles away from where I lived it ended up being the best possible move for both of us, he had the best care I could have hoped for and I was able to be a wife again. I am sure that he was as content as he could be, and his end-of-life care was compassionate and caring.
