View Full Details of The Westbourne Care HomeVery welcoming receptionist. All staff seem kind and friendly. The place is clean and bright. Doesn't seem to be a lot of entertainment for the residents. Nice garden area.
On the whole this is a caring care home some team are better than others. Cleanliness and care could be better. The team here really are nice and do their best with the resources they have.
My husband came in for respite care and has been here since. My family realised that care at home would be too difficult for me (87 years old) to cope - hence he will be staying permanently as this home has proved suitable. We can come and go at any time which is very helpful.
Cannot praise The Westbourne enough. From the lovely manager to every single member of staff. My relative was 90 and his health was failing but they managed to make him happy and comfortable. Special mentions for one carer and one nurse in particular. We are truly grateful.
My mother was transferred to The Westbourne in January 25 , and what we feared might be the beginning of her final days has been completely transformed by the incredible team here. From the outset, they reassured us that while it would take time, they were committed to helping her get better and stable - and they've stayed true to their word. The care, attention, and dedication shown by every member of the management team and staff has been exceptional. Despite her condition and difficulty communicating, it's clear from her demeanour that she feels safe, comfortable, and truly at home. The team has taken the time to get to know her personally, and she trusts them completely. There are always activities, warm interactions, and that personal touch we so desperately needed. The staff not only care for her but also support us every time we visit. We are so grateful for everything they've done and continue to do.
A big shout out for all the staff who work so hard and care for the residents in such a lovely caring manner. Me and my family appreciate them all so much. I would also like to add that the entertainment team are doing a great job and the entertainment recently has been great. They make huge efforts with exercise for this residents and provide this in a lovely manner.
Great interaction from staff to residents.
Admitted as an emergency we were lucky enough to be allocated this home and found the facilities and staff to be exceptional.
My father spent 7 months being cared for at Westbourne following a hospital stay of 6 weeks. The care and support Dad received was humbling, what an amazing team of carers and nursing staff. They always had the time to talk to my family and reassure us through what was a very sad time seeing Dad's health decline. My family found much comfort in the last few weeks of Dad's life, and after he passed knowing he was so well looked after by all the staff at Westbourne. We can't thank all the staff and the manager enough. Dad was treated with dignity and respect throughout. He was always kept comfortable and clean, the laundry service was incredibly efficient too. The staff even rallied to his often over-the-top requests for very hot tea! Dad knew he was well looked after and that gave the family comfort also. I must mention a particular carer, he was just amazing with Dad. We are so thankful for the support and care he gave Dad and the laughs. Dad was so fond of him.
Mum is well cared for. She is safe, warm and well-fed. The staff are very supportive and she is treated with dignity.
I am really happy with the care that my husband gets from the home. I am happy with his room and the staff. The staff really care for him and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is always good and my husband really enjoys his meals. Staff go out of their way to make me feel welcome.
I visit weekly and always find everyone friendly. The carers work hard and are really helpful. Cleanliness is good and the bedrooms are lovely. Activities are good but would like to see more.
We, as family members, are so pleased with everything in this care home. Nothing is too much trouble, all on friendly terms and Dad is so contented. We cannot thank the staff including maintenance and cleaners enough, everyone is doing a great job.
We believe my uncle's needs are being met to a high standard and the staff are very friendly.
I don't get to visit much but when I do the home staff are always so lovely. My dad looks well cared for and he tells me he is really happy. Staff keep in touch to tell me how he's doing. Dad has a key worker that I speak with. His room is full of all things important to him, the home manager has gone above and beyond to make sure my dad's room is personal to him. My dad is a fussy eater so the kitchen team cook things, especially for him, that really makes me feel at ease knowing he still gets to eat the things he really enjoys. I love seeing the social media posts they keep me up to date with what's going on as well as the news letter. It's also nice to know dad gets to all his appointments, staff arrange transport and go with him. He sees the GP regularly and I am kept informed. Dad recently asked for a bird, and the home set about finding out how they could help with this. Dad now has two Love Birds, staff support him to look after them. This has made him so happy.
What a wonderful home, our family member was recently admitted and when we visited the place was very clean and smelt lovely. Her room was lovely. The staff seem very nice and happy. The lady we met bringing the food into the dining room was pleasant and more than happy to tell us about the food. Much nicer than the last home she was in. The lady doing the medication was very bouncy and happy. We feel relieved.
My uncle passed away at The Westbourne in April 2023 and my mother and I want to say how absolutely amazing all the staff were during the year and a half that he was a resident. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care given to my uncle during his time at The Westbourne and they could not have done more. On top of all their kindness towards my uncle, we were blown away when one member of staff even came in to see him on her day off when she heard that he was deteriorating rapidly and reaching the end of his life. The Westbourne is clearly a well-managed care home and this is reflected in how happy and caring the staff are and how diligently they carry out their duties. We could not have hoped for a better care home - this was the third one my uncle had been resident in - and it has set the standard for what I would now expect from one. Thank you to everyone associated with The Westbourne.
I have nothing adverse to say about my wife's care at The Westbourne Care Home.
I am very happy with the care my wife receives from all the staff here in The Westbourne Care Home at Holmes Chapel. My wife has every help and encouragement while she has been here. All the staff from reception to cleaners are patient and very kind. Nothing is too much trouble to action your request. Food is good and the rooms are always clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
My mum was 'fast track discharged' into the home in mid-April. Although her stay was brief, from the moment she arrived until she sadly departed, the staff treated her with dignity, respect, love and kindness. Being there in her last weeks made our family not have to worry about her being on her own.
