View Full Details of Monkscroft Care CentreMy late mother was cared for with compassion and everything done to meet her individual needs. The staff were partners with us in her care, they communicated well and made sure that Mum and our views and feelings were always taken into account. While able Mum participated in a wide range of activities and had opportunities that she would not have had if still at home, and she particularly enjoyed the visits by animals and birds. The team always met Mum and us with a smile, and made her final days as comfortable as possible.
My husband has been living in Monkscroft for more than 4 years. I have always found the staff and management to be very caring and helpful to both my husband and myself. I always feel very welcome when I visit the home. My husband is bedbound and unable to move or speak but the staff regularly speak to him and most days get him out of bed, dressed and transferred into the lounge so he doesn't spend all of the time in his room.
Moved my Nana here from another care home. So glad I have. The care is excellent and my Nana is much happier. It helps to know she is receiving excellent care and I can feel reassured. It is a very welcoming place and they go the extra mile. For her birthday, we were given a space to host a party for her and they made an amazing cake for her. I would recommend this care home to everyone. The staff clearly take an interest in my Nana and look for ways to personalise her care and activities. Above all things, she is safe and she gets help as soon as she needs it. The team always communicate with us and there is never a time we don't know how she is getting on.
I have over 10 years experience with St John's Trust Monkscroft Care Home, and I can say that the staff from managers, carers, right down to cleaning staff gave their all. They have treated me with such kindness and compassion over the years and I can say that goes for my relatives as well. The care my loved ones have received no one could ask for better. All I can say is a big thank you for over the years making it easier for me at very difficult times in my life and doing it with respect and dignity.
Everyone seems to be so happy. My friend has recently moved to Monkscroft and is being taken care of by the most wonderful, caring staff.
I witnessed outstanding care in every aspect during the 15 months my mother-in-law was a resident. The staff consistently showed professionalism, warmth, and compassion, even during the busiest times. They treated her and all the residents with the utmost dignity, respect, and genuine kindness. The activities provided were thoughtful, varied, and clearly designed to engage residents both socially and mentally. It was heartening to see how much effort went into making daily life enjoyable and meaningful. Cleanliness was always of a very high standard and the home always felt calm and safe. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the whole team at Monkscroft.
My mother has been going to Monkscroft Care Centre for day care for the past few weeks. She has dementia and she loves it there. She is always involved in the activities, the carers are very good and take care of her very well. The deputy manager has been very helpful. We are sent photos and videos of my mother enjoying herself. She always eats very well. The care staff already know her well.
Monkscroft is an amazing Nursing Home. My husband was a resident from July 2023 until he passed away in January 2024. The care he received was incredible when he was very weak I popped in one evening the the Head Nurse was sat right up to his bed massing his hands which had become very stiff. The love shown to the residents was so genuine, I knew he was in safe hands. They helped the whole family. I now volunteer 1 day a week to try to give something back. The staff are the same as the ones who were there with my husband. A real credit to wonderful Monkscroft.
My mother was very happy at Monkscroft. She was very well looked after, and we are very pleased that mum has such a good time living there. She was always telling my brother and myself 'I like it here'. The staff cared after her excellently and could not have been better. Thank you for making mum's final years happy one's and treating her so well.
I have been utterly stunned by the care, understanding, and compassion of all staff. I cannot put into words how grateful I am my dad got to spend his last month at this home. He was treated with the utmost care and dignity and I was amazed at how the staff even took care of me while my dad was there especially when he was end of life. words just don't seem enough to say how thankful I am to all staff i was always greeted with a smile when I visited. The home was always clean and smelt really pleasant I can totally understand how this home has an outstanding award from CQC they definitely deserve it.
The staff from reception to the Redgrove ward are always friendly and very helpful. My mother-in-law stayed in the dementia ward, and was always well cared for over a period of nearly 5 years. She engaged with the carers and always seemed very content. When her condition worsened, the staff could not be kinder and made mum comfortable and went out of their way to make her room beautiful and fresh.
My mother has been a resident since 2020 and she has always been treated with kindness and respect. When we visited the staff were often seen talking to her and laughing with her. She suffered with dementia for all the time she was in the home but would tell us 'I like it here' which to us meant everything.
Dad never wanted to go into a care home. He hated the idea of communal living. But he had two strokes and could not return home safely. His children had to make the decision for him as he was no longer safe to stay at home. It took him a long time to settle; but with the consistent love and care from all the staff, he now rarely talks about going back home. Monkscroft has become his home where he can truly be himself. He can make real choices like where he'd like to eat his meal or join in the various activities as much as he wants. When he withdraws a little, the staff sometimes encourage him to try something new. The staff have got to know him and his little ways. He is totally himself with them all and I have never seen him laugh so much. On occasion, he has been unwell. The staff couldn't do enough to make him comfortable and keep our family well informed at all times. I visit as often as I can, but I know and have complete peace of mind that he is in safe, caring and loving hands
My husband was in respite at Monkscroft awaiting a full time care assessment. After the experience of Monkscroft I was delighted to be offered a place for my husband full term. The staff were paramount to my husband settling in so well at Monkscroft, they were just amazing! The management team proved invaluable to the seamless transition to full time care from respite care. My husband has settled in so well and the staff love him sense of humour, I can't thank all at Monkscroft enough for the love and care they show my husband.
A wonderful team of dedicated people, no sorry, angels.
When my dear mum was on an end of life pathway, and a nursing home was agreed, Monkscroft was the place I wanted mum to go, within days and with some help, mum was brought into the Monkscroft family. Mum passed away 4 days later, sooner than I had hoped but her final days were peaceful and comfortable, she was a person and not a patient. The staff were amazing , caring and committed to the folks in their care. Monkscroft and its staff are truly amazing. Thank you.
