View Full Details of Haven Residential Care HomeI needed 1 week's respite care in July and was looked after very well during my stay.
Since I have arrived at Haven, I have found all of the staff to be very welcoming. Everything is kept very clean.
I viewed the home and I was very impressed with the staff I met, the rooms are lovely, saw the menus, impressed with the food offered. I was very anxious putting my mum in a home for 2 weeks whilst I went on holiday. The manageress put me at ease. When I took my my there, I unpacked her bads and staff took her to the lounge, have her a coffee & biscuits. When I picked her up she was happy and looked well.
My first impression is one of welcome. A particular staff member at reception exemplifies this as soon as she greets on at the ground floor entrance. This behaviour of graciousness and care is met with every member of staff and management that I've met during my many visits to my aunt.
The carers, staff and management at Haven Residential Care Home are well trained, compassionate and the most welcoming community that my mother and I could have wished for at this time of need and constant care in her old age. The entire team are so professional, kind and understanding of her unique requirements and nothing is seen as an obstacle. I am kept fully informed and visiting my mother is a pleasure in a clean, comfortable and well run care environment that is safe and reassuring.
All Haven staff take really good care of my dad and are always friendly and professional. He is very happy at Haven and is well groomed and treated always with affection and respect.
I felt relaxed and happy at all times. The staff were very happy and jovial.
Always good. Mum is really happy and being very well looked after.
The home is warm and welcoming and the staff are always helpful and polite. They understand the needs of each resident and they receive excellent care.
A fantastic place with staff who really care. My mum had a fantastic few years here. They really looked after her and made her feel at home. Mum had dementia, although she was quite young. The home worked hard to find the balance between her care needs and her sense of independence. The garden is great in the summer, and the balcony means even the dementia wing has access to outdoor space. Thank you all so much.
The home is friendly and attentive to my mothers needs. Staff are always helpful and respond quickly when asked. Getting through to my mother by phone can take several attempts at times. Overall we believe my mother is being well looked after by kind and patient staff.
As a family, we were delighted with the level of care which the team afforded my Dad. Such a warm and welcoming Home with a lovely atmosphere. The food was also very good, something which I know Dad enjoyed a great deal during his stay. Thank you again sincerely for all your kindness and for making Dad's stay such a happy one.
Staff very good, very homely feeling, nice, bright lounge, and a lovely garden area.
My wife has been resident at the Haven for a year and she is being looked after far better than I was able to manage. She is content. All staff are competent, appear to be well-trained, are happy to be there, and are unfailingly pleasant. Communication between staff and relatives is very good which gives confidence that residents are being well looked after and that any necessary changes in medication or treatment are only made after consultation and agreement. It is a pleasant place to visit.
I do believe Haven is the best care home my mother could be in. It is well furnished and very clean, it has a lovely atmosphere, and there are plenty of activities for residents to take part in. It is quite a small home, which means that it's able to give a very personal level of service that larger homes can't. The staff know the residents well and seem happy to be working there. They genuinely do their best to provide the highest level of care for my Mum, who has been a resident for 10 years now, and who is very happy with everything.
Whenever I have visited a friend who is a resident over the last six months or so I have found the staff very welcoming and very caring for the residents. The rooms and hallways are kept very clean and comfortable. There is always a pleasant feeling when being in The Haven.
Happy welcoming place to visit. Everyone is very helpful.
Over the past couple years, my father has been very happy, his temper has calmed down and staff are very competent and treat him with respect.
My father has been at the Haven since 2021, the level of care we think is excellent, with the ability to manage his individual needs. All the staff are lovely people to deal with and communication us excellent.
My mother has been at the Haven since May 2023 and has received the most amazing care. She came out of hospital care after breaking her leg badly and had spent 6 months in bed. The team at the Haven were confident they could get her walking again even though the hospital told me that was unlikely. Mum is now able to walk with help and is growing in confidence. All the staff are very caring and attentive with nothing being too much trouble. The food is excellent and a good choice every day. The communication from the home is excellent. I often pop in at random times and I am always met with plenty of staff and activities going on during the day. In the summer the garden was a great place to sit on a Sunday with Mum and enjoy the weather. Overall I am very impressed with what the Haven has been able to achieve for my very elderly mother.
