View Full Details of Salisbury ManorFollowing a serious fall that resulted in a full shoulder replacement my 91-year-old mother was able to rapidly relocate from Salisbury Hospital to the wonderful care of Salisbury Manor. The whole team could not have been more attentive and welcoming. She had no use of one arm and significant limitations with her other hand due to broken fingers, so she needed a lot of help. The team were amazing throughout her 4-week stay, and the other residents were also a great source of companionship, boosting her morale. Highly recommend this care home.
This was my father in law's first visit to Salisbury Manor after an unsuccessful respite stay at another home. My mother in law and I had a detailed conversation with the team and we were clear on what was needed as well as what "success" would look like. The initial communication from the team when he went in on the Friday was very poor and my mother in law had to settle him in herself. Over the weekend she went in to visit to make sure things were in order and they weren't. We made the Managers aware of the situation immediately and they sprang into action on Monday morning. The remainder of his stay was great. He loved his room, the food and the activities. He also appreciated having other residents to converse and spend time with. My father in law is not someone who thrives in his own company. Not everything can go right 100% of the time and the response from the team was brilliant and that is what matters. You need to be confident they are listening and they were!
Mum loves coming to Salisbury Manor for her respite care and is always made so welcome by all the staff. They always talk with her, not down to her and ensure all her needs are taken care of even though she may only be with them for a couple of weeks or so at a time. My sister, her carer for 24/7, always enjoys her break in the safe knowledge that Mum is being taken well care of. As visitors we are also always made welcome and enjoy the tea/coffee and cakes which are always on offer!!
One of the many reasons I chose Salisbury Manor was because it had a nice feel to it when I walked through the door. And it still does. All the staff have been very kind to my Dad trying to help him settle in. I had a meal with him and the food is extremely good. The staff try to encourage my Dad to join the activities that might suit him. His room is very well kept and so are the communal areas. I know I have chosen the right care home for my Dad.
Just to say how pleased I am with all the staff who care for my sister. Admin, nursing, housekeeping, catering, activities - they all seem to be very friendly and put the wellbeing of the residents above all else. The comfort and security it gives my sister cannot be over emphasised. Very, very many thanks to everyone.
My aunt was extremly frail when she arrived at Salisbury Manor and she only lived for another 3 weeks. However, the care she received was lovely, so gentle and kind and I was kept fully informed of everything that was occurring for her. She settled in easily and quickly.
Mum required care back in 2024, she couldn't look after herself and it was a stressful time for everyone. We turned to Salisbury Manor Care Home for advice and initially mum went in for respite. The care she received and the support the family had was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and gradually mum settled in. She has been a resident for a year now, she is happy and contented, and the family can't thank the care home enough.
My dad received very good care during the last few months of his life. The staff are friendly and caring towards the residents and family members and make the effort to get to know the family personally. The standard of food is very good indeed and a lot of effort is put into the entertainment activities, which take place daily and are of good quality. The home is very clean and feels more like a good quality hotel than a care home.
Salisbury manor is immaculately clean both inside and out. All staff are extremely professional, polite and friendly. The quality of the food is good. My relatives room is decorated very nicely and it's nice that we can add personal items to make it feel like home. I feel that my relative is in extremely safe hands.
Usually very anxious about changes in my routines. This Care Home was able to offer amazing reassurance for me in the last days of hospitalisation, post-major knee replacement surgery. The Manor offered full care and support. In addition to level access to an ensuite room, all my daily needs were taken care of. Where my mobility was compromised, meals were brought to my room. The food was nutritious and flavoursome. All the staff were professional and cheerful, encouraging when needed, and attentive at all times. I was provided with Therapeutic exercises to improve my mobility and my day activity was arranged to focus upon my recovery. They really cared for me! Minimising my anxiety by taking time to explain changes and the staff listened to my concerns regarding medications. There's time to socialise with others too! Salisbury Manor is a very well run beautiful Care Home! I would not hesitate to recommend the Quality Care provision at the Manor!
Our mother was offered a respite place following a very thorough assessment; we were impressed by the friendly and efficient staff involved in the admission. However, after a few days, the memory clinic nurse who visited my mum and I both observed that she was presenting very differently from usual and suspected an infection, but were assured it was just the change of setting. We had to push for a GP visit. The next day we were told that our mum had started wandering at night and that her respite stay would not be extended - the wandering was a new thing for her and hadn't been raised with us before this nor mentioned to the GP. We were given two days in which to find a new care home, with zero compassion, flexibility or understanding by the manager of how difficult this was given neither I nor my sister live locally - the memory nurse was very shocked too. It felt like a case of profit over people, that our mum was viewed as a reprobate rather than an ill, frightened old lady.
Warm, welcoming, and professional staff. Very clean and well set out to make feel homely. Great entertainment and good food. Great knowledge of conductions and needs required. Supportive to family. Does not feel like a care home! My Father settled well.
I joined Mum for complimentary afternoon tea today. A lovely treat, an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours together. Mum is very settled and happy in her new home, she tells me every visit that she is well looked after, has some lovely friends and really likes all the staff. She absolutely loves the trips out in the minibus and specifically the New Forest and cinema outings. Thank you, everyone, for all that you do looking after Mum so well.
A few months ago we moved my 93-year-old mother, who suffers from mid-stage dementia, into Salisbury Manor, and I can honestly say it has been a wonderful experience. Initially, we felt apprehensive, but after just a few days, she settled in beautifully and has been extremely content and peaceful ever since. The home itself is well appointed and family-friendly, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for both residents and visitors. The food is nutritious and thoughtfully prepared, and the activities are well planned. The staff are incredibly well-trained, professional, and kind. They truly go above and beyond to make sure each resident is cared for with dignity and respect. Knowing that she is in such capable hands has been an enormous relief for all of us, especially her children and grandchildren. We can rest easy knowing that she is safe, comfortable, and well looked after every day. The management and care team deserve high praise for the excellent care they provide.
I honestly don't know where to start with my review! From my first desperate call from the hospital, trying to get Dad into a better setting, to his assessment, and transfer and settling-in period at The Manor, everyone has been excellent. They completely understood our situation and not only immediately realised all Dad's needs, but also scooped us all up as a family and helped us rebuild after a really traumatic time The entire team have looked after Dad with such care and compassion, and through all their efforts they have completely restored him physically and rebuilt his confidence and given us our Husband/Dad and Grandad back! After a truly fabulous three-month stay at Salisbury Manor, Dad has been able to return home, but he will miss everyone so much, and it's reassuring to know, if he needs respite in the future, he can return, and he'd look forward to that. As a family we honestly can't thank you all enough, we've built some really special friendships.
Salisbury Manor is your best-case scenario care home. The staff are wonderful, every single one, always so kind and thoughtful to residents and families. It is clean and bright. The homemade cakes are a bonus Most importantly I trust my granny is in kind hands, she is recognised for who she was and her needs are met for what she needs now.
The care given to my father over his final few months was outstanding. He was not always an easy patient, but the staff were unfailingly kind and cheerful. They made a difficult time as pleasant as possible for him and his family. The home is well-managed and always spotlessly clean, and the food is delicious! I would recommend Salisbury Manor.
The facilities at Salisbury Manor are top notch. The staff are wonderful, fully engaged with the residents and very caring. My mother is well looked after and as happy as her dementia permits. She is happy with the food provided (and seems to be putting on weight!). The gardens are improving and will be lovely for the summer. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
My Mum went into this nursing home for respite care after we had checked out many in the area as we had such a bad experience with another one previously. All we wanted was for Mum to be treated as we would treat her when we cared for her at home. Immediately on walking in it felt more like a 5* hotel than a nursing home. There is a tea/coffee (and cake) seating area at the entrance for residents and guests alike. The rooms were immaculate and did not smell (as other homes had) Lunch is a 3-course meal which every day smelt amazing and I could have joined Mum if I had wanted to (for a very small fee). I imagine the chefs work very hard to prepare different options every day. The manager and staff were friendly, checking if Mum and I were ok. I actually felt happy when I left as I felt she was in good hands. As a family we know that when the time comes for our Mum to need more than respite care this is the home we would choose.
My mother has settled in so well and is so very happy. This place is so warm, friendly and professional, and the staff are amazing. My mother is happy and loves it here. As her daughter, it's fantastic to visit her and know she's being looked after so well. The good is fantastic, and everything is so efficient and organised. My sister and I are so relieved to have found such a fantastic place. Thank you so much for such amazing care.
