My mum is in the care home so I am writing this review about her care. The home has certainly started to improve with the new management. We feel there is still some improvement needed, but they are moving in the right direction, and we can go to them with a problem. When we had a problem with mum's
room, they sorted it out by moving her to a room, better sorted for her needs. As a family we are very happy with this as this option was presented to us by the manager, it has been a very good move for mum. We always find her room nice and clean also the home. She has said she is now enjoying the meals as they have got a lot better.

This care home is definitely the worst home I have ever been in and I have been in many as an assessor for H & S care. The food is not acceptable when the regular cook is absent. The cutlery is dirty, the residents on dementia floor are treated as they don't matter, the staff do their best but so
many good long terms staff have left due to unreasonable behaviour from management and seniors. This place was once a happy well-run home but in recent months, has gone from bad to worse. Please get it sorted by using management that care.

Alexandra Court has and is a safe and supportive environment, with dementia trained staff who have empathy, not only with the residents but also the relatives who, at times, have a hard time accepting what has happened to their loved ones.
Staff treat residents with dignity and keep rooms and
social areas clean. Food is varied and plentiful, with assistance given where residents are not able to feed themselves.
Management and staff provide a safe and secure environment for the residents to live in. Overall experience is a caring and supportive care home who are always looking to improve (listen and discuss).

We have a family member residing at Alexandra Court and in the past have had some issues with the laundry and food which we repeatedly found hard to resolve but since the new recent manager has taken over - what a difference in such a short time. She is polite, helpful and listens to your issues and
always greeted with a smile and a good word. This has been also said by many of the other families.

I am extremely happy that my grandmother is being looked after in this amazing home, the
staff have encouraged my grandfather to enjoy his musical talents once again. He is looking forward to performing his concert.

Mum came into the home due to bereavement of Dad.
All staff have been excellent and accommodating of Mum's physical emotional and psychological needs. Mum settled on first meeting all staff and other residents. Mum enjoys all the daily activities. Prior to admission Mum ate very little. Since Mum
has enjoyed eating all meals. Family are impressed with care and attention Mum has received.

My mum has been staying at Alexandra Court since end of November 2023 for respite care following a long stay in hospital. Initially Mum had hospital dementia and we were very concerned for her safety and wellbeing as she was quite unwell and confused. From the day she arrived at Alexandra Court we
started to relax as Mum was looked after by a specialist team who are experienced in dealing with such care needs. Whilst Mum's behaviours were quite concerning to the family, we were regularly reassured that this was not uncommon and that mum would eventually settle and staff kept us updated regularly. Mum has shown significant progress whilst staying at Alexandra Court and is back to the mum we know and love. She has developed a lovely relationship with the staff and if we rarely have cause to raise any niggles we speak directly to the staff or manager and things are addressed as soon as possible. Thank you Alexandra Court for looking after my precious mum so well.

My grandma received a range of care whilst staying here for three years. There are some genuine carers/seniors who go above and beyond. Unfortunately, there were numerous safeguarding concerns regarding neglect, which management didn't take seriously. Care staff weren't held accountable by the
management team, which meant that the issues continued. The dementia unit is too big/busy, which means there is very little interaction. Residents are left in the lounge with no engagement or, sometimes, supervision. Residents do become physical with each other, which results in them becoming hurt. I've seen residents becoming upset by this, and no reassurance or comfort was given. Sadly, we had to move my grandma to a different care home due to no improvements.

My mum thoroughly enjoyed her two periods here at Alexandra Court. Mum was treated so well, all the staff were so caring and supportive. As a family, we were able to see Mum as often as we wanted and to be involved in all her care. Her room was made into a home from home. Beautiful garden.

Visiting my friend's Mum, she was so well cared for, it was evident to see that the staff cared. I was impressed with how inclusive visitors are, I have been in many care homes and Alexandra ticked all the boxes. It would appear the staff seem to enjoy their work.

Well run residential care home, with lovely caring staff. If anything they seemed run off their feet (only two staff and a cleaner) when I was there. Very clean. My mum was only in for one week for respite but wish we could convince her to stay. Would definitely be the home of my choice when the
time comes for permanent care.

Although my mother had only a short time in the home, she appeared to really enjoy it. The staff are amazing, kind, humorous, and most of all, professional. They treated Mother with the utmost dignity. The home is clean, bright and beautifully decorated with amazing gardens. We cannot find fault
with anything. Her room was always warm and clean. The entertainment brightened my mother's life. Unfortunately, she passed away last week, but she was happy there.

Alexandra Court is a nice place. Mum gets the support and care she needs, plus her welfare too making her safe.
06 September 2022
From first visiting, my mother was immediately impressed with the way the home was decorated and also did not have the smell of a residential home.
The friendliness of the staff is second to none and gave me reassurance that Mum would be cared for; she was not the easiest and could be quite
violent at times, but they were so lovely to her.
The entertainment and also the beautiful gardens were also enjoyed by Mum and myself when visiting.
When Mum was very poorly, end of life, the staff were wonderful and treated Mum with dignity and were very caring; they were also so lovely to me and my sister.
24 June 2022
Not enough staff to carry out adequate care. A shocking CQC report and communication between home and families, a lot of improvement is needed around person-centered care and medication. Non-existent activities. They make it difficult for families to visit, due to restrictions, no key worker
connection with families.
